Sharp, a native of Monroe, is an Emmy-award winning actor known for his work on the soap operas “Guiding Light” and “As the World Turns.” He discusses: the challenges of working in a new environment; growing up in Monroe; his time at Northeast Louisiana University (now known as the University of Louisiana at Monroe); his time at the North Carolina School of Arts; moving to New York City; his first break as a professional actor in “Fences”; his entry into daytime television; working on a soap opera; being recognized on the street; and the experience of being nominated for and winning a Daytime Emmy.
