Hit him up and have a chat. Even if just to talk about what he perceives you need to achieve the goals you are hoping for and you don’t end up following his programs. When watching the video you posted originally my main thought was how you have the perfect mentality and outlook on wanting to maintain health physically and preserve great mental health, and the reason you weren’t seeing a lot of gains or what you expected comes down an imbalance of the input. Increasing exercise input can only work to a certain extent before plateauing due to the lack of input nutritionally. Even if you increased your calories alongside exercise, you can still plateau if those calories are not the right foods to promote muscle growth. The inputs need to be balanced in a more fine tuned methodology. ETA: you definitely portrayed your journey positively and I hope my comment comes across the same. I’ve used the word plateau intentionally to refer to the fact you have progressed and seen results, and not dismiss the effort and dedication it has taken to get there.
I second this plus he mentioned wanting chickens someday and not knowing what he'd be doing so it could be a good learning experience for both of them.
when i see a gym bro my fight or flight kicks in but this guy really surprised me. im glad he doesnt have a toxic mindset and it seems like he used your video to get some positive messages across to his audience (who is probably young and impressionable and needs a good role model), like you said you could have used this advice 10 years ago
Yeah I understand the hesitation to interact with gym bros, but most are chill. I personally need out when someone tells me they started lifting. Hell I think I sometimes get even more excited about their start than they are lol
Gym bro is real af, so sincere and honest. Pretty funny too. And Alex is so right, bro looks like he's been through enough bullshit online and in real life that's he's just done with everything, he has reached enlightenment. He's like a Gym Jedi
It’s funny how you can never predict what your next video is going to be about. From reptile unboxings, Uber/DoorDash/Amazon Flex, seeking spiritual counseling, car wrapping, ants attacking you, cooking/baking, fitness, business/finance, and dealing with awful roommates, you will find a way to make thoroughly entertaining and knowledgeable content!! I look forward to see what goes on in the next video :)
It's giving me jenna marbles vibes haha. Purely making a video in the moment about whatever they want cause they want to. must feel nice and we also are here for it too 🤌
@@jeseniaoviedoit’s so funny because I could care less about the animal stuff the first video I came across was his attempt at cooking 😂 I’ve been hooked ever since
Lifting weights just causes stress on the body and stress makes you age faster, if you wanna live longer don’t workout just chill and walk once in a while but lifting heavy weights stunts growth and just makes the body focus on adapting to the stress you put on it, so more muscle = lower life span due to excessive stress especially people who work out 6 times a week which is dumb asf.
@@Veunchea53332for most people this is not true, there is a difference between being a full on bodybuilder taking roids and going to the gym. Having muscle and higher bone density improves life expectancy. Challenging your cardiovascular system improves life expectancy. Activating the sympathetic nervous system for short periods of time is good for you it’s called eustress in literature if you’re curious. I hope it helps
@@Veunchea53332literally not true. Muscle mass and strength in older people correlates with life expectancy. Plus the idea that lifting stunts growth got debunked. Stop making excuses and get your lazy ass to the gym
Exes fat also reduces life expectancy, and if you don't train and eat too much, you'll have too much fat. This would then suggest that a twig is the optimal body type as it is a low stress, low fat body which is wrong again since you are less resilient to sickness as the body has less recourses to fight and being suspended in bed for an ectended period of time becomes detrimental. I think stressing your body to build up muscle and also a little healthy fat reserve is likely the healthiest thing you could do, even if it puts ever so slightly more stress on your body, because stress for the body will come in one form or another and I'd like to have at least leather armor than running around naked when going into battle. @Veunchea53332
I enjoy the variety on your channel even though i subbed when you were doing reptile and animal content ,i like this even more I must say because I can relate
I also thought you were dominos guy until you pointed it out haha good work dude you have a great attitude, I'm also naturally skinny. just getting in enough calories is key, if you're 25 if you have of plenty to grow (I didn't even think about my health until later than that) but stay on top on your diet. If you're losing weight you're not eating enough.
This was for Members only, so thanks for sharing with us regulars. I was binging your recent vids, and NOW you're OFFICIALLY my fave vlogger. You totally remind me of my bestie, personality-wise, so I'll beat up any trolls on here for you cause they're all freakin' stupid 😂! You're chill, laid back, and have a very relatable sense of humor. I like your storytelling style. RUclipsrs with channels your size seem so fake sometimes, like they're morphing themselves into the algorithm, or something 😆. Stay awesome! 💪😎 Be your genuine self. You're fine as-is. See ya in the next vid. Subbed. 🤩
Fun coming across this video on the algorithm, good stuff! Revival is kind of a gem in regards to more hardcore but still grounded fitness content, seems like a genuine guy and got me back on the right track on my own fitness journey.
He sounds like a good person to have in your corner. His point was to not go down the rabbit hole of the 'fitness industry'. As a gym owner I can tell you that a lot of 'gym bro's' are more interested in your wallet than your gains. I actually had a trainer try to get me to take steroids. I was 140 ibs and 6'3. I couldn't get above that no matter what. It took time, effort and a much better diet. Now I'm a nutritionist and I know that 80% of your gains is your diet. Your hormones are composed of fats. Eating trans or bad fats will not make it easy on your body to produce the hormones that you need to get better.
To those who try to hold Alex back with just reptiles, look at him now. He's branching out to other people in other genres and it helps in so many ways. This is fun to watch and hear what gym bro had to say and what Alex can take in 😌
im a pretty “new” lifter myself, but the only good advice i can give is to learn and absolutely master the fundamental lifts like bench press (using full range of motion, slow down and pause your rep at the “bottom” or eccentric part of the movement, etc.) once you learn them, you don’t really need anything else, at that point its just a game of time you also need to use progressive overload, eat enough protein, consistency, and other stuff, but so far just by learning the fundamentals and using other good gym practices like progressive overload, i’ve been seeing some juicy results myself after nearly 2 years
Regarding diet, the most important thing is to replace processed foods with whole ones. That means eating things as you’d find them in the wild; whole vegetables, whole cuts of meat, nuts, fruits, etc.
I love this so much. My two passions have always been reptiles and fitness. Ended up going more “fitness” career wise but it’s so funny to see you cross over into that world. I’ve continued watching your content after reptiles obviously. And of course I’m dying to give you advice but I won’t. Just keep enjoying it whatever that looks like for you 👍🏼
I did gymnastics for 10 years. It gave me a really strong base for calisthenics. When I eventually started lifting weights, my calisthenics strength improved wayyy faster than it had been and I was able to start holding straddle planches and rep out hand stand push ups. I think both are helpful but in my opinion it takes a lot longer to gain muscle with just calisthenics and you have to be really really dedicated to it to get gains.
I'm so glad that the algorithm tossed your vid to me, I'd hoped to come across your reaction to his reaction. Legit, try everything (safe and legal) til you find something you like then do that like you practice other shidt in your life. 🎉
I’m sooo happy you did this video! I have a phys Ed major, and have been lifting weights for 10 years now. I was thinking most of what he shared in the video!
Just a suggestion, if you don’t already have annual physicals with a primary care physician, I’d recommend A) establishing care with a primary care doctor and see them annual for a physical exam. Beyond that, I highly recommend requesting a CBC, chemistry, and perhaps a thyroid and/or any other panels they might recommend just to make sure everything is functioning properly. I know some people just have a naturally smaller frame/body size, and I know you said it’s changed for you, but the sleeping 10-12 hours daily is enough to have some blood tests run just to make sure you’re all good. I had some symptoms that I was ignoring for a few months, the fatigue/needing to sleep 10+ hour, and losing weight - yeh, I finally got to a point where I was in rough shape by the time I finally went to the doctor. It ended up that I was in critical condition and sent straight to the ICU for six weeks with a critical form of bone marrow failure… so yeh - I’m a big advocate of regular physical exams even when you feel fine and just making sure all is good. Good luck and really enjoying the new/different types of content you’re sharing now!
Alex, I'm just going to say this because I don't see anybody else doing it. The key to making this journey successful.. is doing what genuinely makes you happy. Something you ENJOY. If you prefer to do the weight training, do that. If you wanna do the rock climbing. Do that. If you wanna do the calisthenics. Then just do that. If you like a combination of those things, then do them! Fuck what anybody else says. Ultimately if you do stuff you don't really wanna do or feel a lack of passion to do... you'll never truly be happy with it.
.... That laptop sticker.... 🤥 How am I supposed to enjoy the video... I refuse to believe you are learning to wrap cars, and find that sticker acceptable on your laptop
If you wanna grow muscle to gain weight Natural hypertrophy, alex lionidas, Geoffrey verity scoffield and others can be real good and be less doomed than people like RF can be at times. All the best bro ❤ Edit: Btw these guys do quite a few free programs you don’t have to buy and also stay natty bro
Oddly enough I watched your channel when you were still operating emerald scales. I had no idea things didn't work out but it is really awesome watching you soldier on and not let your past failures stop you from being a success. You seem to be a very humble good man and that is very rare these days. People should look up to you man!
Anti-inflammatory diet could be worth checking up to see if you get more energy and less physical fatigue. These can be in a wide range of ambition from just trying to cut out some type of food to very detailed protocols for people with severe auto immune conditions. It could be there is something that does not give immediate noticable problem but affect recovery negative (esp if you feel a need to sleep for ling). Also healthy food can have a negative effect, a lot of people can be sensitive to for instance tomatoes, peppers and other from that plant family.
Same here, I subbed to you from revivals original video! My advice for you is drink as much full fat milk as you can stomach every day, there's no way in hell you don't blow up. I always struggled to pack on legit mass as I didn't like dairy. One day I decided to get over that and I've been destroying milk since and in 8 months since then I'm over 15kgs heavier Best of luck friend ❤
I was fixated on the label on the back of the laptop. It's partially peeled off and was driving me crazy. I also think Alex might be the best "How to run a successful RUclips channel" he changed his niche but kept the name and still has viewers. All the other "How to RUclips' channels say they're successful, but where's the proof.
Seems like a nice guy. I was expecting a roast. I've been embarking on my own fitness journey for the past year. My problem hasn't been gaining muscle, but losing weight. I'm ashamed to admit that I gained about 60lbs working a night shift job due to the stress and everything. It messed with my eating schedule, my metabolism, my sleep habits, etc. I was even constantly getting sick. I've dropped half of that off, but the rest has been stubborn. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but it's still discouraging when the scale isn't dropping as quickly as you want it to.
Get yourself a big thing of protein powder. Drink two to three scoops a day in whole milk. You need more protein for sure. Get one with casein. You are absolutely under eating by a small margin(likely 500 to 800kcal). The shake is an easy fix for that. Know your calorie needs and watch them. If you miss on calories drink an extra two scoops. Lift as heavy as you can after a solid warm up (say jumping jacks or ultra light weight for high reps, get the target muscles warm). Elastic bands could help you to get warm since you are so small. If you are getting more than three to four reps after warm up then you are doing it wrong. Push through on the last rep, don't let yourself fail too easily. Get hyped. You would be surprised how much of a mental game this is. Make sure you feel the lactic acid build up. You wont hurt yourself if you stick to 4 sets per muscle, you are lifting too light. Use machines if you cant stabilize free weights. Doms hurts like a bitch when you start out, you will get over it. That trainer that told you to take weight off doesn't know shit. He should have helped you stabilize, he should have put you on machines after you practiced the free weights. You need both right now. Don't do free weights without a spotter. Don't be afraid to ask for a spot. Give yourself more time to heal, you may be over training. Never lift when sore. Try to lift just twice a week until you get stronger. It's not hard to get big, you just need to do it right. Trainers are for fat loss or athletes mostly. Unless they are advanced body builders themselves, they won't have enough experience to help you. Also, you can do both but you need to lift if you want to get stronger all around. All athletes lift for a reason. Calisthenics alone will take forever. It doesn't shock the muscle enough, especially at your weight.
This was such an amazing overlap. I would watch the shit out of this journey for you. Loving the content. I was chronically underweight and ive been holding steady at about 10lbs above underweight. I wish you the best in finding what works for you!
Please don't change your channel name. If you do don't change the profile pic at the same time. I've lost a couple youtubers for months over this. I watched regularly Then didn't recognize the channel and skipped over it.😂😅
I think you are doing great. You know what your road blocks are and you are opening to trying new things. I think a meal plan would help. Do pre-made foods. So that making, or aqcuiring in the moment, is reduced. Delegate everything but the eating, and digesting. Make it content. I would watch a collaboration with you both. It would be a nice continuation of your self-improvment series.
I’ve been hittin the gym the last year after starting at Amazon and I love it and can’t wait for your progression and mine! I hope to look back in a few years and we are both in the best shape ever.
To be honest, if your training your muscles hard enough to give them a reason to grow, and eating enough to provide the materials to build that muscle, you WILL make progress. Youve already made progress, and that will only continue. Unless you want to be a bodybuilder or a powerlifter, you are on the right path. I assume you have some sort of "desired end weight" and when that goal is reached it could very well just be a matter or maintenance. As a bodybuilder myself, albeit a small one, ours is a journey with no real end. Get bigger, get stronger, as far as possible, push the limits. Each goal is just another point before the next one. Yours is one with a definitive ending, a clear destination. Keep moving forward, your doing great 💪💪
I watch his channel, and I'm subbed to him. He's a Real G. He's a good guy and has training/ diet programs available. I haven't used his stuff personally as I use my own program for both, but as a decently frequent Revival Fitness watcher, he knows what he's talking about and what he's doing. I'd definitely trust his programs. Also, he's Italian, so everything he said sounds like he's pissed at you, but he's really not, lol. Check him out more if you haven't. He's one of the new Goats.
you have a small frame, i do too. my wrist size is small, and i have thin bones. after 2-1/2 years of consistent brutal workouts, eating lean high protein foods, i’ve doubled my size with lean body mass and body fat. i have a small frame with thin bones, but i had the opposite issue as you.. i had a chubby body, with super thin noodle arms. i now have a thin body with thick arms. building your own body is amazing. the reason you haven’t gotten much progress done is BECAUSE YOU DONT WANT IT.
First time watching you but you can see signs of you being a strong guy if you know what to look for even on the video he’s reacting too. He’s right about your work ethic too. New fan here man. Rooting for you going forward!
@@GoHerpingno problem dude. Your mindset it awesome. Sticking to doing a workout / activity you enjoy is the best thing to do. And don’t worry about appearing super strong or getting “swole” you’re already feeling day to day is getting easier. That’s all you need unless you intend on competing I’d of thought. Good luck man. Try the @bioneer for a variety of approaches he likes to switch it up too so you get multiply flavours
Your fitness journey reminds me very much of my own. Like myself, you don't appear to be predisposed to gaining muscle mass. When I started strength training I weighed 145 lb. My first two years I almost exclusively did calisthenics and bodyweight exercises. Looking back, I made significant strength gains during that time and my quality of life improved dramatically, but the only metric I could use to track my progress was volume. Around the two year mark I felt overtrained/fatigued and was unable to add more volume and frequency to my training schedule. After about two weeks of rest I resumed training, this time reducing my volume of bodyweight exercise to accommodate some barbell training. After two weeks of rest I felt stronger than ever. This was my first clue that periodization can be helpful. My first barbell exercise was a power clean into an overhead press. My brother coached me on the movement for about a month and then I had it down. If I could go back I would start with the deadlift because I've found it to be much more effective at stimulating growth. I was also still training too frequently due to comparing myself to people with different genetics. Nevertheless, during that third year I gained about 20 lbs of mostly muscle. At 165 I was still pretty lean. I got my overhead press up to about 75lbs. My fourth year was one long plateau, because I was doing the exact same stuff and still training too frequently. Around the four year mark I switched from the power clean into overhead press, to the deadlift. I also started taking a basic multivitamin. I started with 80lbs on the bar to learn the form. I knew this wouldn't stimulate growth, but learning the movement developed coordination I had been lacking and I had it down in about a month. I started doing 3x5 with 150lbs on the bar. I added 5lbs every workout until my working sets were up to 190 and my 1rm was up to 225. At some point I switched from 3x5 to a single set of ten and found this worked better for me. I reduced the frequency of my deadlift to once a week and this also helped. I was still doing tons of bodyweight work between rock climbing, break dancing and jiujitsu, severely overtraining. Around the five year mark I tore my MCL in jiujitsu class and had to take a whole year off of all exercise 😢. Now I'm at the 8 year mark and my working sets for deadlift are up to 225. All I've done for the last two years is deadlift once a week and bicep curls 1-3 days a week. In that time my bicep curl has gone from a 40lb 1rm to a 50lb 1rm. I only climb about once a month and take a private jiujitsu lesson once a week. Today I'm a little fat in the midsection at 188lbs. I'm currently considering adding some cardio back into my routine to trim the fat and regain a state of better overall fitness, but I'm stronger than ever now and I think I would look absolutely jacked at 165lbs(for a 5'10 skinny guy). I'll never go back to training every day. My strength and especially mass gains basically doubled when I started getting adequate recovery between workouts. Whole milk has been my best friend. Reward yourself with a calorie dense snack after every workout. I'm still setting new goals and learning about my mind and body, but I hope my experience can help you strategize for maximum efficiency and enjoyment. Good luck! 🙂
I just finished listening what you had to say at the end of the video and I just want to reassure you that anyone who extends a hand to help but ignore the help you’re asking for and are trying to push their own approach to the gym into you are not people you want to take advice from. What I understood from you is that you just want to have fun and that’s completely okay. Any knowledgeable coach would take what you said and find a way to create a training program that caters to you, your goals, and your needs. Dude if you just want to have fund fuck what everyone else says! My piece of advice will be as simple as I can make it. This will be a 3-4 month long program nice and simple… For your base phase, do 4 sets of 12 reps for 4-6 weeks. For all the exersices you choose to do Then when you get to the end of the 4-6 weeks (you choose how long you do 4 sets of 12) you begin to decrease the amount of reps you do, and slowly begin to increase the weight you do. So for the strength phase instead is 4 sets of 12 reps, you will do 8-10 reps for 4 sets for all the exersices you do, keeping in mind that since there are less reps, you want to try to go heavier on the same exersices you did the previous 4-6weeks Then, once you’re done with the 4-6 weeks here, you’ll move onto a peak phase where the goal is to go heavy with the weight. For example, this time around you will be going for 4-6 reps for 4 sets for all the exersices you do keeping in mind that you should now be shooting for weight that’s going to push you a lot more than when you were doing 12 reps and 8-10 reps. Since you’ll do 4-6 reps that sets you up to for STRENGTH GAINZZZ 🫶🏼 I went through this cycle 4 times a year as a high schooler, all 4 years of high school and by the time I was a senior in hs I had the women’s weight lifting record for power cleans and squat. But that’s because I wanted to break the records. The training cycle I just share with you is just called; base phase, strength phase, and peak phase. Going through these three phases will help you get stronger, & the bigges plus to following this is that you will get strong regardless of how heavy you go or not. As long as there is effort, there will be gains. More effort = more gains (muscle mass and strength)
Best advice is start simple, keep it basic, progresssive overload every week, every set- as little as 5-10 pounds a set- till the weight hits back and keep that peak weight a number to pass each week and then starts the deloading weeks and re loading process 😂🤙🏼🫡 - deload to keep from tearing the body up after a few months- good time to add isolation, then re load after a few weeks of hypertrophy- up to you when your ready to reload pretty much. Compound movements are youre best friend 👍🏼
I'm in a very similar situation as you are, all said and done the best thing I can try to advice is try to get some easy healthy snacks that have high calories, besides your launch and dinner, where you should be getting around 2000 calories, a good breakfast and a nice afternoon snack can go a long way to putting you easy into 4000 calorie range, do this for at least 2 weeks and i garantee you're gonna gain some weight my friend. I started eating a lot of hummus and cashew to fill in those gaps, (easy 300g meal with around 1000cal) most important thing is to allways have it on hand so you never skip a "feeding". For some1 like you and me eating will allways be the hard part, our stomachs used to that much food at once that we can just forcefeed ourselves 2 huges meals and simply gain weight doing that, (specialy cuz you seem to also have a very active lifestyle) TLDR: get some healthy snacks you like > have them close at all times > eat something every 3 or 4 hours > profit???? worked for me, around 20 pounds in 1 month, I was 117 pounds...... YOU CAN F*CKING DO IT!! And you'll feel a lot better moving around! Ppl sometimes forget that when you dont have muscle OR fat normal everyday tasks can actually hurt you.
video title should have been, "skinny noob reacts to Gym Bro reacting to skinny noob" All kidding aside, I have been enjoying this channel so much this year. I found your channel through your BRZ saga. Still would like an update on the Purple Princessmobile
Loved this collab, I’ve watched both you and his videos in the past. I was same size and weight as you 1 year ago (145lbs 5’11”), now I weigh 175lbs… max bench 265lbs, squat 350lbs, and dead lift 405. Basic advice that worked for me (not that your asking for it but want to share): Eat in a surplus calories (about 2,500cal), 1g of protein per pound of weight a day (150g if you with 150lbs), 5 grams of creatine per day, strength train 2-4 days a week! Hype for your progression and keep up the content brother! Jesus loves you!
Think just changing ur diet will be a big help ur doing good in everything but food is really important u got this keep up working out n eat right ull get to where u want to be at 😁💪🏽
I'm 41. I never go to the gym ever. I've done the same workout daily since I was 17. 1 Set of pushups, situps, tricep dips, lat pulls, deltoid pushups (with light free weights) and squats each. But I've been just more doing yoga/Calisthenics lately as working at Amazon as a Water Spider is already enough on its own.
Bro you need to do research, that tingling sounds like mild sciatica. You should try nerve flossing (or better yet see a physio if you have coverage or student physios for cheap at your local college)
20:35 you should really add in some structure and tracking to your workouts, nothing major just like doing squats, pushups, pullups in a specific order everytime and just tracking ur reps would be plenty
Don't use drugs, you don't need to have Roid muscles, just eat protein. Creatine is fine if you really want to take something, but unnecessary really, the most important part is just trying to be consistent, trying to get sleep and trying to train every day (even rest days you can take a walk.) If you like calisthenics, do calisthenics, if you want to do some weight, use some weight, make it enjoyable.
🚨 For your wrist pain when overhead pressing try to make sure your fist is pointed up to the sky like you’re punching the sky if you’re letting your wrist bend back instead of keeeping it straight up in line that’s the cause of your pain also with benching I see this most commonly ! Not medical advice just a gym bro of 6 years don’t mess your wrist up with improper form !!
Alex you're my favourite internet person now. You have been for a while. I think it's worth paying for some direction with this. I did it and it meant I stayed consistent for 3 years of weights. My one rep max for deadlift so far was 135kg (trap bar). 40yo 5'3" woman. (And I'm a bit fat lol). Also macrofactor is good for making sure you get enough carbs and protein n stuff. But just pick something you want to do and do that, when you get bored, find something a bit different. But this guy might be helpful. He doesn't look roidy.
I use to be skinny like you, working out isn’t hard or as extreme as people make it out to be, you only need a good 4 days a week in the gym. If your looking to gain weight you have to cut down burning calories and eat more calories, I just recently gained a lot of weight this year, and sadly it was from drinking and not being as active as I use to be, and I had a fast metabolism. But I don’t recommend doing it that way lol, you’ll gain weight but not in the right places. listen to your body and stay consistent you’ll definitely put on more weight it will just take time. If your looking to build muscle bulk up with eating, lots of carbs and protein will help and don’t do a lot of cardio, and study form bc that’s the biggest thing when it comes to lifting. Make sure your getting the full range of motion with any exercise weights or calisthenics, it’s not a race when your in the gym, 5 good reps will beat 15 any day, it’s about tearing and stretching the muscle, then recover the proper way
i am broke you are skinny, i am muscular you are rich. i think id trade lives, so who cares if ur skinny just keep grinding and learn along the way, the only person that can help you is you. at the end of the day you will live longer then all these content creators and u seem happy so thats the best part about it all. The turtle always wins at the end of the day.
@@SemadOfficial He's making several thousand a month on YT and he owns his own home and 3 cars, with 2 being Teslas. He's doing pretty darn well compared to most 23yo, especially without going to college or tech school.
24:27 this is what it's like to be disabled around people who think they know how to cure you lmao "steam your yoni, do yoga, go to a witch doctor with me over spring break, whats the matter I just have your best interest in mind, why are you setting a boundary?"
I've ran for at this point somewhere around7 years. Medical problems aside I just couldn't seem to improve and was generally slow and rather below avergae-- then one day I was looking at myself and was just like "I'm in better shape than so many of these people I should be faster there's no reason I'm not" and that mental shipped dropped minutes plural off my next 5k. Your mental will effect your preformance with lifting and athletics so much you prob could deadlift more :)
eat more protein and u'll see huge muscle gains. i was underweight and skinny when i was 18, started going to the gym and eating more protein and got huge gains. mostly did deadlift with progressive overload. i started lifting and could only do about 130 pounds at the time, now i'm lifting 320 pounds deadlift, and i'm still improving slowly. i'd recommend doing dips for you in particular.
RF is currently my favorite fitness influencer but yeah I think he overestimates how much us beginners can lift. I left a comment on one of his videos recently stating how much I was squatting back then and he said I was sandbagging lmao. I think that's mostly because once you get really strong your body is just capable of lifting that much more and taking that much more damage and stress whereas when you're beginning it just can't do as much. Like I'm not taking it easy on the squats by any stretch of the imagination. I always try to do one more rep or increase the weight by a little and I squat till my darned legs shake. I also feel alot of pain on my hips because I just put as much weight as I can handle at the moment. But yeah man baby steps. Lift heavy bro.
man, im in the same situation, after 8 months of going to the gym I'm just a very tiny bit bigger and stronger, I see other people lifting my pr's like nothing and it's so painful. I don't know if I have a condition or Im just doing everything wrong. I will keep pushing regardless, there is no way I stay skinny after more effort.
Tbh. I'm not a calisthenics person and had to rely on my predictive text to even spell it correctly, but just do that with a little bit of weight training. You already have a rack, the weight training part is super fast and easy. Compound movements. Get a full body workout under an hour with bench, squat, and deadlift every other day or twice a week. The rest of the days rock climb and do the flippy tricks or whatever calisthenics is. 🤷 It's just that easy.
already cracking up at him thinking you're the dominoes worker
I mean... 😂
That shit was so funny lmao
This was surprisingly wholesome. You honestly look even better now than in that video. Good job, little princess
Look at our little princess go 🥺❤️

He is really kind and sweet.
Second this
when i see a gym bro my fight or flight kicks in but this guy really surprised me. im glad he doesnt have a toxic mindset and it seems like he used your video to get some positive messages across to his audience (who is probably young and impressionable and needs a good role model), like you said you could have used this advice 10 years ago
i've yet to meet a disrespectful gym bro. even in gym settings, they've been super chill and level headed
@@GoHerping thats good to know, i should erase my stereotype lol
I love revivals content, his monotone wisdom reminds me of an angry grandad giving you the best advice lol
Yeah I understand the hesitation to interact with gym bros, but most are chill. I personally need out when someone tells me they started lifting. Hell I think I sometimes get even more excited about their start than they are lol
Do you think everybody thay works put is toxic come on
He seems pretty spot on with his critique. You are a hard-working guy!
This video makes me far happier than the garbage-human roommate saga!
This was very wholesome and nice. What a good dude
Purely making a video in the moment about whatever they want cause they want to. must feel nice and we also are here for it too 🤌
This I love just following his passion rather than specific tailored content to what gets views
@@birdstheword2109 I miss when she used to upload 🥲 but there’s never a dull moment with whatever Alex has going on lol
@@Kira-kg4kl Same, It never bothered me whenever he stopped doing his reptile stuff even tho that’s what originally kept me watching his videos

Alex: I don’t have any health issues
Also Alex: *has a heart condition*
@@Veunchea53332delusional
I enjoy the variety on your channel even though i subbed when you were doing reptile and animal content ,i like this even more I must say because I can relate
thanks!
You said it at the end, if you want to see your muscles, eat more lol it’s that simple. Cool to see you getting into lifting though, keep it up!

I also thought you were dominos guy until you pointed it out haha
good work dude you have a great attitude, I'm also naturally skinny. just getting in enough calories is key, if you're 25 if you have of plenty to grow (I didn't even think about my health until later than that) but stay on top on your diet.

Subbed. 🤩

bro was so nice
This reaction video is just so wholesome. Saw the RF video weeks ago; this just now showed up in the recommends.
And yes; he always sounds angry.
It’s funny because I’m subscribed to both of you so seeing the back and forth is very entertaining
Reach out and do one of his novice programs! Revival will get you jacked!
To those who try to hold Alex back with just reptiles, look at him now. He's branching out to other people in other genres and it helps in so many ways. This is fun to watch and hear what gym bro had to say and what Alex can take in 😌
im a pretty “new” lifter myself, but the only good advice i can give is to learn and absolutely master the fundamental lifts like bench press (using full range of motion, slow down and pause your rep at the “bottom” or eccentric part of the movement, etc.)
once you learn them, you don’t really need anything else, at that point its just a game of time
you also need to use progressive overload, eat enough protein, consistency, and other stuff, but so far just by learning the fundamentals and using other good gym practices like progressive overload, i’ve been seeing some juicy results myself after nearly 2 years
Regarding diet, the most important thing is to replace processed foods with whole ones. That means eating things as you’d find them in the wild; whole vegetables, whole cuts of meat, nuts, fruits, etc.
Aw, I love this! That was very wholesome!
Good luck and really enjoying the new/different types of content you’re sharing now!
nice, yeah i go in detail in this video about medical stuff ruclips.net/video/MqeDDvExqSk/видео.html
And EAT!
.... That laptop sticker.... 🤥 How am I supposed to enjoy the video...

Edit: Btw these guys do quite a few free programs you don’t have to buy and also stay natty bro
Oddly enough I watched your channel when you were still operating emerald scales. I had no idea things didn't work out but it is really awesome watching you soldier on and not let your past failures stop you from being a success. You seem to be a very humble good man and that is very rare these days. People should look up to you man!
I feel like 'gainsherping' is a channel name to consider
I saw the thumbnail and thought that was your big brother or something lmao
Awesome vid, idk what’s different but I have a second wind feeling about this channel building up.
+1

also you have very good push up form
Exactly he doesn’t need to workout he needs to eat a lot of meat and maybe add some raw milk for growth

Same here, I subbed to you from revivals original video! My advice for you is drink as much full fat milk as you can stomach every day, there's no way in hell you don't blow up. I always struggled to pack on legit mass as I didn't like dairy. One day I decided to get over that and I've been destroying milk since and in 8 months since then I'm over 15kgs heavier
Best of luck friend ❤
Your frame is top 10% bro, dont stress too much about putting on weight you dont really need it too much but if you want to of course go for it
the contrast of these two guys's personalities makes RF seem even angrier than usual😂
I watched regularly Then didn't recognize the channel and skipped over it.😂😅
neverrrrr
Me too lmao
I think you are doing great. You know what your road blocks are and you are opening to trying new things.
I think a meal plan would help. Do pre-made foods. So that making, or aqcuiring in the moment, is reduced. Delegate everything but the eating, and digesting. Make it content.
I would watch a collaboration with you both. It would be a nice continuation of your self-improvment series.
I’ve been hittin the gym the last year after starting at Amazon and I love it and can’t wait for your progression and mine! I hope to look back in a few years and we are both in the best shape ever.
Climbers are generally good people! It makes sense the climbing place gym guy was good. He's right though, PT quals are the bare minimum

This will be a 3-4 month long program nice and simple…
For your base phase, do 4 sets of 12 reps for 4-6 weeks. For all the exersices you choose to do
Then when you get to the end of the 4-6 weeks (you choose how long you do 4 sets of 12) you begin to decrease the amount of reps you do, and slowly begin to increase the weight you do.
So for the strength phase instead is 4 sets of 12 reps, you will do 8-10 reps for 4 sets for all the exersices you do, keeping in mind that since there are less reps, you want to try to go heavier on the same exersices you did the previous 4-6weeks
Then, once you’re done with the 4-6 weeks here, you’ll move onto a peak phase where the goal is to go heavy with the weight.
Just keep pressing forward your intentions will bare fruits 🍎!
This was such a wholesome video I saw a gym bro and got scared.
For some1 like you and me eating will allways be the hard part, our stomachs used to that much food at once that we can just forcefeed ourselves 2 huges meals and simply gain weight doing that, (specialy cuz you seem to also have a very active lifestyle)
TLDR: get some healthy snacks you like > have them close at all times > eat something every 3 or 4 hours > profit????
worked for me, around 20 pounds in 1 month, I was 117 pounds......
YOU CAN F*CKING DO IT!!
And you'll feel a lot better moving around! Ppl sometimes forget that when you dont have muscle OR fat normal everyday tasks can actually hurt you.
video title should have been, "skinny noob reacts to Gym Bro reacting to skinny noob"
All kidding aside, I have been enjoying this channel so much this year.
Think just changing ur diet will be a big help ur doing good in everything but food is really important u got this keep up working out n eat right ull get to where u want to be at 😁💪🏽
No don’t workout that’s just a stressful activity and makes you age faster because that’s what stress does it’s a useless activity that wastes time
WAIIITT?! Is this the collab of the century😂🔥
If you back hurts, work on your posture. Study the "Alexander technique."
Bro you need to do research, that tingling sounds like mild sciatica. You should try nerve flossing (or better yet see a physio if you have coverage or student physios for cheap at your local college)
Do his course and his nutritional stuff and then make a series on your progress ! Please and thank you 👌🏾
This video reminded me to clean my gutters
20:35 you should really add in some structure and tracking to your workouts, nothing major just like doing squats, pushups, pullups in a specific order everytime and just tracking ur reps would be plenty
Also hybrid calisthenics is so genuine, he is amazing at what he does, and amazing at teaching and giving realistic information
Not medical advice just a gym bro of 6 years don’t mess your wrist up with improper form !!
woooa hybrid calisthenics mention

Alex you're my favourite internet person now. You have been for a while. I think it's worth paying for some direction with this. I did it and it meant I stayed consistent for 3 years of weights. My one rep max for deadlift so far was 135kg (trap bar). 40yo 5'3" woman. (And I'm a bit fat lol). Also macrofactor is good for making sure you get enough carbs and protein n stuff. But just pick something you want to do and do that, when you get bored, find something a bit different. But this guy might be helpful. He doesn't look roidy.
Also I comment more on your videos than anyone else. Sorry. 🤓
Dude I'm so glad you mentioned the hair! 🤣 That was the first thing that I noticed for some reason
You have an awesome personality & sense of humor, and there’s nothing wrong with with being skinny
Hold the line on that name my boi! You dont see people named smith out here making swords haha
Make sure your getting the full range of motion with any exercise weights or calisthenics, it’s not a race when your in the gym, 5 good reps will beat 15 any day, it’s about tearing and stretching the muscle, then recover the proper way
Well ... he didn't roast you so... good optics I say! And he complimented your work ethic Alex. 👏🎉😊
Please do starting strength 5x5 and intake 3 scoops of protein throughout the day.
wow used to watch the reptile unboxing years ago now your on my recommended for fitness
i am broke you are skinny, i am muscular you are rich. i think id trade lives, so who cares if ur skinny just keep grinding and learn along the way, the only person that can help you is you. at the end of the day you will live longer then all these content creators and u seem happy so thats the best part about it all. The turtle always wins at the end of the day.
He’s not rich he’s a regular guy with bills like 99% of us… if you watched his videos you’d know that 😅
@@SemadOfficial He's making several thousand a month on YT and he owns his own home and 3 cars, with 2 being Teslas. He's doing pretty darn well compared to most 23yo, especially without going to college or tech school.
He works at domino's, he's not rich.
24:27 this is what it's like to be disabled around people who think they know how to cure you lmao "steam your yoni, do yoga, go to a witch doctor with me over spring break, whats the matter I just have your best interest in mind, why are you setting a boundary?"
queen u ate the squats up don’t worry go herpes🔥🔥
*king ;-)

HI :)))))))
man, im in the same situation, after 8 months of going to the gym I'm just a very tiny bit bigger and stronger, I see other people lifting my pr's like nothing and it's so painful.
