Wow! I have been watching your videos since your D1 year which was my sophomore year of university. I am now finally applying to dental schools in May. I love your channel and I have watched nearly every video. Every time I watch it reminds me why I'm doing this and what it will feel like when I am finally there. Keep it up!

Great video! It gives such an insight into the full process of dental school. It is amazing to watch your full series of videos and watch your journey and growth over the years. It’s so cool to see how your journey shifts gears along to way as the focus of school changes. Like gross anatomy being all consuming to now talking about the personal interaction with patients! I have a D1 son and because of your videos I now know some of what his journey will be and can relate better to what he has going in life. I like how you include someone of the personal stuff to show that there is life as a student. Keep up the videos! I can’t wait to see once you get out and start practicing. I don’t think there is much emphasis in your schooling of how to run a practice. Also, it would be very cool if you were to get some of your friends and other students to just sit down and have a round table talk about each year, now that you are almost finished and what they got out of each year; their challenges and how they over came them and maybe their thought processes on their future as they progressed along the years. Are any of them thinking about specializing, where at what are they going to do after school, join a family practice, go work for one of the corporate clinics, go over seas for more training, …. And if so what was their thought process on that. You don’t hear much about that, or even how that works. Maybe once you get out and join up with your dad’s practice, discuss the various dental practice structures and some of the pros and cons of them with your dad. Yall get a high dollar education in how to do the work, but not in how to apply the work to an actual job. As your journey continues it would be great to hear that part of it, the business side of things. Keep it up. Very entertaining and informative.
I genuinely can't tell you how much a comment like this means to me. I have put a ton of work into these videos over the past couple of years, and I am just so glad to hear when they are helpful and informative for people. And I completely agree: my focus has shifted as I've navigated through school. I definitely am planning to keep the channel rolling full steam ahead into the future. It is just my passion, and I am excited by all of the opportunities it brings. I just made a video with one of my classmates about specializing in Peds and I plan to talk a lot more in the future about decisions that have to be made as a D4 and the process of moving into practice. There are so many topics to discuss and dive into. I'll be here doing it!

I have wanted for a while now to make a video dedicated to my faith because I feel it is such a large part of my life, and this channel isn’t really an accurate representation of who I am without it. This is something I’m still pondering and considering. If God fully places it on my heart, I will go through with it! In my early videos, I talked a lot about my undergraduate experience and how I managed to get accepted into dental school. Those would probably be quite helpful for you!
Thanks for the question! We had two great assistants there at the clinic that helped the four of us. I worked with them on the more complex procedures like my crown preps. When I was doing extractions, I often had one of my classmates there to suction. I wish I could have someone film me doing dentistry but that will be coming in the future! Just haven’t been able to make it work yet n
