just stumbled across this video I'm also from Perth, just picked up a 2020 rs3 carbon edition cant wait to install this style steering wheel on it although i am quite fond of the oem steering wheel.
The boost gauge portion is probably off by some degree, the stock map sensor is only capable of measuring up to ~22psi of boost. Unitronic stage 2 files have been known to hit almost 25psi of boost in some cases, for a more reliable reading you really need a manual boost tap and sensor/gauge ill probably be ordering my steering wheel without the led on top
@@ap7977 cause it would drive me crazy if I saw two different readings for the boost which didn't match up. All the additions I've done on my rs3 have been OEM+ mods so I don't want it to stick out too much compared to the rest of the interior, if I wanted it to be straight race car I'd buy one of those pillar gauge mounts and send it 🤣
@@mohibsiddiqui8273 this is OEM tho..my mate has one and it just looks too good for me to care about the reading being slightly off😂 I mean even if you get the mounted ones you still won’t get a perfect reading right..
@@ap7977 for accurate boost readings you need a manual boost tap, which is a reference you plug into a boost gauge which will give you the actual boost pressure. The one on the led uses the map sensor to calculate boost pressure but the sensor is only designed to read up to 21.9psi, if the map sensors are upgraded its possible that they should show the correct boost level
Check the video at 12:01....it's spliced into the 12V output from the steering wheel centre.. This is the way the company suggested it but make sure your battery has been disconnected before doing anything around airbag wiring. To be clear, do not touch the wiring that goes to the yellow plug....this is airbag only.
What did you do with the white white? Do you just leave that white long white doesn’t connect anywhere? Is that a return horn wire? And hat did you do with it?? Thanks.
@@frax77 Nice, these cars are monsters. Just a quick note: If you happen to tune using the DS1 platform, it will interfere with anything that uses the OBD2 port (including the aftermarket steering wheel with LED).
@@frax77 we upgraded from the 2016 preface to facelift style. So dont have these. I spoke with Audi and they didnt seem to have these as available parts
If you mean the tachometer on the digital dash, this was done as part of the Stage 1 tune.... I'm not sure how you would be able to change that without some sort of coding.
@@scarecrowsgermancargarage-6747 I'm afraid I'm going to run out of answers for this....it is starting to sound like a technical issue. I would recommend getting in touch with the supplier. Wish I could be of more help mate.
Yes you can but I think that would mean the display would be off as well. Alternatively change the rpm settings so that just the shift lights dont come on. I.e. set low rpm to something like 7000rpm, so it never starts lighting up.
Hi i got the same steering wheel followed the step by connecting the wires but the lights dont come on for some reason does the airbag need to go in to get the connection? Because ive left the airbag out just incase i need to take it out again
The airbag should run off its own circuit so shouldnt be necessary. Have you paired the steering wheel with the control unit? I think you hold down both buttons. If that doesn't work maybe speak to the supplier. Good luck 👍
Awesome!! No, our indicator lights wont work on the steering wheel (also, our steering angle won't work) as these signals do not come through our OBD. I was a bit disappointed, but it is car specific so not much we can do about it.
From a company called DS Performance Parts, but I don't think they are in business any more. If you google Urus Paddle Shifters for RS3, there are plenty of options available.
I tapped into the airbag wiring for power like in the video and ended up needing a new wiring harness which set me back 600$+ apparently it’s very unsafe to take power from the airbag, viewers be ware!
This steering wheel 🤤 shut up and take my money!

Awesome video, well done and very detailed unlike most that just skip through everything and show you a finished product.
Wow I love the new carbon fiber steering wheel it makes the car looks so much more aggressive!!!
Great tutorial as usual, A+ video. Keep them coming. 🔥🔥
Great video, very nice job, like the pixelation :0) . Such a cool steering wheel. Maybe a subtle LED grill logo would round out the full LED theme

Ordered mines today can’t wait until delivery
I followed your instructions to connect the wires, but the LED light isn't working. Why could this be? Where might the problem lie?
Have you paired the steering wheel to the module? I think you need to hold down both buttons or something like that. Anything in the instructions?
Great video and music Alex! You have so much patience with those fiddly things, but I agree that the end result is very flash!
Good morning, where did you get the 12V to power the LEDs? compliments

Oooh trying to remember, but yes I think one wire was unused. If that's the case just wrap it up and tuck it away.
how do your buttons have power? i was told my buttons would lose power because there’s no harness connector. you seem to have the same wiring as me
Thank you for the comprehensive videos. I am getting one myself without the LED. Are you going to tune the car?
Thanks 🙏 Yes the car is now tuned....there is a video of it on the channel 😁

Hmmm, no, you should have them in the factory wheel and you'll need to transfer them. Check your oem wheel again, they should be there.

Can you make a video on how to setup the lights to come red at 8500 RPM like for older v8 RS5s

Hello please can you tell me where I can get this from ? The link on your bio isn’t working for me , please, please please
Oh that sux...looks like their website has shut down....buggah! If you do some googling, there are plenty of other suppliers around. Will update bio 🙊
@Frax have you ever seen a wheel installed and it just keep cycling any tips?
I assume you mean the screen keeps cycling through menus? I haven't seen that before but check the button and button wiring as a starting point.
The lights just keep cycling different colors like Knight Rider and the middle screen just flashes AMG back and forth

I think they ran a different style of steering wheel but I'm sure there are equivalent options out there.
