In this video I walk you through how to replace the rear sway bar links in a 2012 Ford Fusion. These little link that join the rear sway bar to the rear lower control arms can be the source of clunking noises in the rear end of your vehicle.

Great video. About to do my brothers links on his 2008 mercury milan. He hit some bad construction bumps and the top ball joint busted apart. Hearing a lot of clunking like you said.

Scott, it looks like you are in the shout with no snow. The car is really clean and no rust, not even surface rust.

So could you please explain why they needed to be replaced or exactly what was wrong or broken with them? Thanks.

The little ball joints eventually wear out. When it does so you will hear clunking noises in the rear end especially if you go over a bump.

@@ScottsGarage17 Thanks for the clarification and for the video. I heard noise for weeks after hitting holes pretty hard a few years back but could never quite find the broken parts. Those must have been it. I either got used to the noise and no longer hear it or more likely adding a little oil took care of the complaints.
