    I love your content. I'm looking to make my first feature. Would you advice I do a short first, to gain some sort of credibility?

    For my crowdfunding video, should I produce a mini trailer?

      Yes, a trailer can be very helpful. The most important thing is to show the quality of your work. Quality is better than quantity.

    Now i do have a question here, once i earn the budget, do I need a producer? Is there any more important information before I start a feature movie?

      If you’ve raised the $ for the film, then you basically are the Producer. You can then hire a Production Manager, 1st AD, and other production people to help you do budgeting, hiring, etc.

    Thanks for the video. So informative. If I am creating a fictional feature and trying to get a fiscal sponsorship from IFP or a place similar, will I have to share profits of the film with them? Or do they just take a straight percentage of about 7% of what is raised?

      Great question. Fiscal sponsors don’t own your film or share in the profits. They support your project and provide fiscal oversight for which they take a fee from $ raised.

    can i put a producers rep for distribution plan so say im going to a producers rep to help find a distributor

    • @film.academy
      @film.academy  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for asking such a great question. Yes, you can list a producers rep as part of your distribution plan. Try to be as specific as possible with the reps name, company info, and other films that they've repped and sold. Your goal is to show that you've done your homework and have a solid plan for distributing/ selling your film. Hope this is helpful. LMK if you have other questions or suggestions for future videos:) cheers!
