Perhaps you can eliminate particles getting stuck also by animating the random field? Would change the swirly patterns over time, but that could produce an even cooler effect. Thanks for the tutorial. Couple ideas how to render it as animation: 1. Put the sweep in a connect object 2. Render tracer as hair 3. MoSpline bullshitery, I don't know 4. Actually try rendering from frame 0? 5. Bake as Alembic?
Just came accross this tutorial. This is really helpful, thanks! I would love to animate something like this, but making Sweep editable only works for still images... Any idea on how to render each frame for animation?
thanks for this tutorial!!

This was very insightful, thanks!
Very cool! But so strange that it’s not rendering the tracer object as animation, I don’t understand why it wouldn’t work 🤔
I added riggid body tag then Baked and it works

thank you :) I was thinking about it for a while, but it's been done many times by other people already, so I don't think it's needed...
