Really nice to see two well made machines still working hard and doing what they were made to do. They did it in the day they can still do it today solid workhorse. I have an 880 brilliant tractor.
Hello Anthony I know your a big David brown man so quick question do you prefer q cab model with the gears on the side or weather frame cab with the gears in the middle? Thanks
Mint condition ! Thanks for taking care of those DB tractors. I live in Quebec-Canada. I own a David Brown 880 Selectamatic completely restored. They're very nice when they look brand new. But if I had to do it again, I would rather choose the 885. Mostly for the power steering and 12 speeds semi synchro transmission.
I love the "twin" David Browns. Meltham made them right! The beet harvesting machine? Not so much. I was seeing whole rows of "topped" beets (tops sheared, beets left in the ground) left in the field! Just more "agricultural waste"?
comfortably - they'll pull pretty much anything but its the conditions and terrain and experience that limit you - id comfortably pull 6 tonnes with an 880, 8 tonne silage trailer was common on a 990 -
Even if I own myself a 1967 DB880 Selectamatic, I never get tired of hearing the sound of it... along with the 990. Legendary David Brown tractors.

@@Johndonvan861 well if we are talking about where the gear levers are,Q cab models where known to break the gear levers, occasionally.
Which is most reliable 880 or 990.
No real answer to that question there are two many variables.
Very nice pair of tractors congratulations on their beautiful condition

How much weight can you pull with both the 880 and 890? Would the 890 pull a 3.5tn trailer, including trailer weight?
