We think this is one of the best industrial ready to go PAPR packages. The integrated grind shield makes it functional to keep the PAPR on. When users take off the PAPR it reduces effectiveness and creates time / opportunity for contaminants. Miller makes great products and this is no exception. You get everything you need such as spare battery, storage bag, shoulder harness and spare parts.
If you have questions please let us know!
The T94 PAPR is the same PAPR system but the helmet just does not have the integrated grind shield.

So I work 12 hour shifts mainly mig and flux core welding. I got this about a week ago along with the LPR-100 OV relief half mask and let me tell you what. My body feels amazing and I haven’t had any fatigue or sluggishness since I started wearing them. I can physically tell a difference almost immediately using the T94i and the half mask together. I know you’d only need one or the other but I take my health seriously. This was well worth the money
we could not agree more! Your lungs will thank you one day!
I just got mine today. I heard about the filters going out fast and me personally like you I take my career seriously but my health even more. The way I see it I’m doing this for the long run and I wanna do it for as long as I can. When wearing a half mask does it get good ventilation to wear you don’t sweat. Also when using half mask does it prolong the life of the filters?
Something to keep in mind is if you're buying this buy some spare parts with it. Our safety guy bought a Miller PAPR in 2010 and when he lost a part of the hose assembly this year it was a pain for him to replace.
That's a sweet ass system right there. I've been using Miller products for years, but I haven't upgraded my hood for better then 20 years. The hood I have now I got when I worked for Fleetwood RV's when I was 21yo. I think now is an excellent time to upgrade to that right there.
Looks like a good rig for welding on galvanized material .
What you want to get as an extra is a gas filter as well , the partical filter only does dust
What do you mean?
The filter will be effective against fumes and gasses as well. He referenced it being niosh certified. The CDC has more info on what that entails if you still have questions or need clarification.
I really want this because im doing stick and flux core currently in a small space and when im wearing my hood with a respirator it gets uncomfortable
I wonder if the shoulder straps are removable
I am debating this vs. the Optrel E3000?? Wish I could get both. I've noticed it seems Baker's recommends this one on this video in the comments and the Optrel in the comments of that review! LOL. Smart move! Thanks for the review btw.
Both for sure! haha thanks for watching let us know if you have any other questions.
Does miller make OV relief filters for this like 3M does for their papr hood?
Can you add the PAPR to my T94i XL?
Leaning towards the Swiss air to run wit my CLT 2.0
Yes we are super excited about the Swiss Air! We will be posting a video soon on that!
Where can I get a cheap one
Is this papr better then the 3m g5-01 for
Got this at work and I absolutely love it. Do the non-PAPR Miller hoods have a comparable auto-darkening lens??
Same exact hood. I believe the model is T94i-R. But the hood only, is T94i. I believe, I know the R stands for respirator or rebreather.
My clearlight doesn’t always work. Anyone else have the same issue?
Just don’t fart. Trust me lol
i kown i have one and when you fart is horrible lol😅
Dutch over
Can you remove the lower unit from the belt provided to put it on a safety harness?
They make shoulder straps so you can divide the weight a little better
Of all the PAPR blowers you've tried, which is the quietest? Highest air-flow?
We love this Miler PAPR! Its flow is great and the T94 fits nicely / durable for any environment.
thank God they can be blacked out... I had duct tape over my Speedglas PAPR. Its distracting when you have other welders working next to you.
im just starting done with week one i will own this by 150
My wife says I look better when I'm wearing my welding helmet.
Ouch
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@MrInfoPhilly right? 😅😅😅
Can you remove the “Y” hose and balaclava to use it just as a standard welding helmet without the PAPR?
No you really can not you need the system complete. I would get standard T94 and then PAPR for the applications you need the extra protection.
You can wear the helmet without the PAPR but it will weight a lot more for no practical reason, also it will be hotter with the fabric on it. I own the speedglas g5-01 and I have a stand alone hood for quick jobs where I don’t need the powered filter.
Is this OK to sandblast with silica sand?
We are not positive I would confirm with Miller Electric safety group first. If you call in we can transfer you or confirm for you
Can you turn the sound of the alarm off when there isn't enough airflow? If you don't have another filter so its not beeping and vibrating at you all day?
Also doesn't really answer thw question if its worth the price or not just mentions the helmets features
You can turn off the alarm. It is worth it! Thanks for watching let us know if you have any other questions.
Pity these are damn near impossible to get in the UK, so parts would be a nightmare. Any recommendations for alternatives?
Optrel panoramaxx (E3000 I believe) series
They are about the same price with a papr system and are European based
@@jonathangarzon2798 Appreciated, i'll look into it, thanks.
I need something without the weld shield. Im in a bad air environment but only actually welding about 20-30% of the time.
The brand Optrel make something what you're asking for. Called Swiss Air Papr.
@@newfierunner8686 Unfortunately the high cost of papr units means I wont have one anytime soon. I use a N99 respirator but lack of filters means washing and reusing. Still better than nothing.
I’m going to be joining carpenters Union as an apprentice pile driver in a few weeks. No idea what I’m doing but it will be outdoors and welding is a big part of the job. I need a welding hood. This one is sweet, do you recommend needing air flow system when welding outdoors?
Yes weld fume tends to get into your weld shield.
Hello @Anthony how is it going so far with the pile drivers?
I'm in the UBC too, and I worked with pile drivers during my apprenticeship.
Hope your apprenticeship is going well.
I would confirm the type of welding and if anything with fumes / hazardous material I would invest in a PAPR. For everyday welding a standard helmet and LPR welding respirator are a good idea! bakersgas.com/products/miller-lpr-100-respirator-nuisance-ov-relief
I do a lot of welding on a creeper, would this unit work and be confortable when welding on your back?
Yes, battery might be questionable
Yes you will feel it there but it is not bad. Worth it for the protection.
@@BakersGas thank you for the reply, I ended up going with the speedglas g5-01 with PARP and love it.
Will this filter fumes from aluminum welding or should I go with the supplied air respirator model?
Yes it will filter for fumes. PAPRs fully protect but if you just need a welding respirator check out the Miller LPR-100
@@BakersGas I am going into boilermaking this year. I currently work in an all MIG fab shop and we run a trigas mix. Air is brown all day. Is this the model that will take me from fab shop to boilermaking (stick, mig, tig)?
@@BakersGas the lpr 100 filters are very small. I tried one and had to replace filters daily.
I dont recommend.
My current n99 filter has about 5 times the filter size.
Its a honeywell 7190
Does it have a light kit for it
They do have a T4 kit but we would have to check if it will work on the PAPR
The metal filter is a spark arrestor
Let me emphasize why it is important to have or to advance to a new welding helmet that has a free flow air system I worked for a factory years ago before retirement, welding giant octagon shaped pipe structures and they were made out of weathering steel which is a steel that is treated with certain chemicals to purposely cause that steel to rust with fish scale type rust shapes so as to seal the inner core of the steel and we would guarantee the structures for 99 years they did not have to be galvanized they did not have to be painted but it came with the price to the welder, the welder who breathed in these fumes from welding weathering steel throughout the day sometimes within just a couple of months of welding we had one 21 year old person develop brain cancer and a number of welders had brain tumors and the guy I changed shift with,b he had a tumor like a grapefruit hanging on his chest and he died, at a young age, breathing in these fumes are not good for you, on galvanized steel I have had the shakes where it would cause your teeth to chatter and of course the milk drinking does work when you get galvanized poisoning but welders who can afford it and that's the sad part, most welders are from paycheck to paycheck , the welders that are just starting out, and they will not be able to afford one of these helmets that cost $1,000 or more ,but soon as you're able to, it's worth it to advance to one of these units because breathing in the fumes are not good for you.
We could not agree more! Protect yourself! Worth the investment long term.
Most of us are trying to pay the bills. Dropping a minimum of 1.5k for a hood is robbery, I'd rather wear $50 respirator under my $80 hood.
At 61 I cough up black daily.
Im sure my end will be lung issues.
Ive already had spontaneous collapse of my right lung twice.
Scary and painful. Almost killed me both times
@@UrbanArmada those filters will add up eventually you’ll be upset u didn’t just buy this mask after spending hundreds of dollars on filters
@@bobkeller8383 I'm just wondering what part is so expensive? The hood at most is like $300 bucks, you can buy an air pump, hose, power tool battery adapter and a few other bits for under $100. I'm working on making my own at the moment because I'll never pay 4 grand for a hood.
Bah-la-cla-va. Baklava is a dessert :-)
I used it today, don't like breathing normal air😅.
U don't feel any smoke. Really gd
I want the new speedglas g5 02 but it's 1,000 whoppers 🥺
Right! It is pretty neat we will be doing a video on that soon. Thanks for watching.
I have the G5-01,and can say it is a awesome unit,I also have a miller with clear light filter, let me tell you the speedglas with Natural filter is much clearer.Have a coworker with a T94 and seems to be of less quality then speedglas G5-01 hood, not only that the T94 looks like a robot hood 😄
I would have loved to have one 40 years ago welding steam pipe under military buildings, now I have lungs full of asbestos.
Fn government should have been using these all along
Yes, employer has a moral responseability to protect their employees from weld fume. The American Welding Society had several safety articles in 2005 about welding fume passing through the blood brain barrier. Know a welder who died of brain cancer....
Is the website legit I’ve been calling and get no answers!
Yes we are in the office Monday - Friday est time 8am-5pm you can also email support team!
This looks better them the 3m one
Yes we do like this one a lot better than the 3M /Speedglas one. For starters we stock it and parts. The 3M PAPR's the manufacture does not even stock so always a lead time.
These dont blow.much air...i once hooked one to A 185mph leaf blower....i thought I was in mortal kombat...PAPRALITY!!!!SUPERB!!TOASTY!!!!
Why would a good welder need a grinder? ;)
I know this is sarcasm lol but nonetheless at our shop anyways you pretty much use a 9 inch grinder everyday to grind down excess metal after air-arcing run-off tabs off from full-penetration weldments
15 :(
Just got one and man i wish i seen the fart thing!😅😅😅😅 should i be worried about pinkeye asking for a friend!?
