TURKEY'S BEST Kept Secret. Welcome to KAS in Antalya. Travel to the South of Turkey 🇹🇷

- Welcome to the South of Turkey. This week we’re in Kaş Turkey! This ended up being one of our favourite towns that we visited while in Turkey and is definitely a gem in Southern Turkey.
Book this apartment in Kaş: www.booking.com/hotel/tr/best...
To start off the video we head just slightly outside of town where we discover an amazing ancient amphitheater called the Hellenistic theatre, it dates back to about 100 BC and holds about 4000 people. We walk around a bit, take in the views and fly the drone for better views.
Later on we head into the beautiful town, do some shopping and also try the most popular drink in Turkey- Turkish tea as well as Apple Tea.
Afterwards we check out what Kaş offers as far as beaches. First we check out a beach right in town, it’s small but beautiful and also surrounded by lots of hotels and restaurants where you can stay for the day. After this we walk about 20 minutes outside of town to another of the incredible beaches, this one is called Büyükçakıl Plajı or Big Pebble Beach.
To finish off the day, we head back to our apartment rental, do a quick tour of the property and then take in the most amazing sunset!
ABOUT KAS
Kaş is a seaside town on the Mediterranean coast in southwestern Turkey. The modern town occupies the site of ancient Antiphellos, with still-visible ruins including a theater. The 4th-century-B.C. Lion Tomb, with 2 carved lion heads, is one of many Lycian rock tombs in the area. The town center has whitewashed houses and buildings covered in bougainvillea. The Lycian Way, a marked trail, passes by the town.
ABOUT TURKEY
Turkey is a nation straddling eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Cosmopolitan Istanbul, on the Bosphorus Strait, is home to the iconic Hagia Sophia, with its soaring dome and Christian mosaics, the massive 17th-century Blue Mosque and the circa-1460 Topkapı Palace, former home of sultans. Ankara is Turkey’s modern capital.

What does the title mean? Why can't it be Turkey?
Thank you for sharing this video. Absolutely breathtaking!!
Exactly, the caption is so stupid. There are two things it can indicate indeed: First, this can't be Turkey, second I'm so ignorant to know anything about Turkey. I choose the latter.
Thanks for the video, was this video filmed in January? the weather looks amazing!
Havlucu abiyi tebrik ediyorum, türkiyede yaşayıp da aksanı bu kadar düzgün olan çok az insan gördüm
Turk ama yurtdisinda yasamis, belli olmuyor mu? :)
@@keskinkesir4468 kesinlikle! Aksandan anladığım kadarıyla benim tahminim ingiltere( londra civarı olabilir ). Ama kesinlikle yurtdışında yaşamış.
Turkey is an Magnificent place to visit , Turkish ppl are great , warm and welcome
So true. Everyone was more than welcoming. We loved it! - Anna
What a beautiful place again now I want to go to Turkey one day Great job guys
It's an absolute must visit in our eyes. Especially if you want to do some Greek islands too 😃 - Anna
I’ve been there for 10 days. Seriously this city and the lot of different beaches with deep blue sea is amazing. Friendly local persons with 90% turkish local person. You’ll feel that you realy feel between the turks (very very frendly all). Kaputas plaji is the most beautiful place i went in my life😍🇹🇷👍
Love this, what a gorgeous place. That apartment is perfect 😍. The views!
Yeah that apartment was our fav. Those views though... what a beautiful spot - Anna
The carpets are so lovely! 💚💙❤ but to be honest in Turkey I'd rather have Turkish coffee, which is such a delight, than black tea. 👌😜
We're not huge fans of the Turkish coffee sadly. We have tried it multiple times but it's not quite are thing. (we love coffee btw haha) - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers 👍👍
One of my most beautiful memories from my trip in Turkey was the 1 day in Kaş. Really wish we stayed 2-3 days there.
Omg that place is amazing!! The views!!!
We really can't get over the views here. The south of turkey is a gem Sarah! - Trevor
BEAUTIFUL. Very like Southern Italy. Big Pebble Beach WOW. Has elements of both the Adriatic coast and the Tyrhennian coast in Southern Italy.
Yes. I remember south italy with all its crime and poverty.
@@Torsengi Amalfi and Tropea and the Gargano. Incredible natural beauty and wonderful food.
Definitely has all those elements Steve good catch. You'd love this place if you haven't been 😃 - Trevor
OMG. What does 'This can't be from Turkey ?' mean
Just arrived in Kas yesterday, it is a beautiful place!
Thank you for taking us along your journey, what a relaxing and beautiful video.
All the love!
It's nice to explore places that r not crowded with tourists, having d feeling that u can enjoy d place all to yourselves.
Great video. I'm adding the south of Turkey to my itinerary when I visit Istanbul. Thanks guys.
You should go to Kaputaş Beach there! It is amazing.
We will look it up thanks - Anna
D view from your apartment's patio is absolutely amazing.
Right? That view was over the top! - Trevor
Thank you so much for sharing such a nice experience of yours in this video.
That was very raw and nice, thanks for sharing...You guys have a great year!
We're glad you liked it 😃 We absolutely adore this place - Anna
Thank you for sharing about turkey! I’ve always wanted to go. It’s great to see more about it!
My country is always number one, there's no need to travel and visit to Europe because Turkey already has more both natural and historical attractions than Europe. 😊🇹🇷❤🇹🇷
You can thank the Greeks and Romans for that. Not many contributions from the Turks I'm afraid... 😀
@@Stavraetina Why shall we thank you 😂? Ultimately once upon a time Greece had belonged to Ottomans and they had fought with one another many times and the result always came to an end as Greece has been gone down in defeat. Pray for that Ottomans hadn't occupy your lands more and Ottomans had showed tolerance about living and speaking in own language 😂. But that's not your fault and ours because our ancestors had fought very long time ago so due to the political problems among old ancestors it's very wrong and absurd to nurture enmity. By the way Romanians and Ottomans never had fought with each other. Bulgarians Romanians and Albanians were been against you actually, not against Ottomans. But I don't feel you're our enemy because everything is done in the past. 😉
@@Stavraetina No Romanians and Ottomans never fought with them but maybe due to the Russian's forces to Romanians they had stated us: Dear Ottomans we never want to have a battle with you but Russians force us to fight with you so we'll contend to fight with you but never will. Our main purpose is get our lands from Greeks so help us out on this one.
By the way actually Greeks and Ottomans are so good friends but the English and French fooled you many times promising give you big lands from Ottoman and provoked you but now you're very small and weak because you once had bowed EU's commands and requests now they don't care about you at all. 😆🤔
None of European countries don't want to collaborate and unionize together with you doubtful and poor Greece. Now you ought to accept the facts. Turks never like fighting and killing people especially innocents but you trust yourself very much even though Turks gonna hit and smash you with 82 million towards 10 million poor and clumsy Greeks. So Greeks thank us cause we had pitied on you to give you lands for living. 😂😂😂
@@erenlopez2569 first of all you make no sense whatsoever, total gibberish. Second of all, who am I? Greece? You have no idea who I am and where I come from. You know what they say about assuming right?
@@UniTalkGlobal read my comment to you friend Eren Lopez, same goes for you 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Hello from Australia. Thank you both for sharing your wonderful travel vlogs of Turkey. Its been impressive thus far and would love to see more. So I thought i'd part some useless trivia with you. From what I am led to believe and understand is that the Turkish tea glasses are shaped in the form of a tulip so as to reduce and minimise the loss of heat as compared with conventional glasses due to the narrowing of the neck not really for the strength of tea. Hope this answers for the fancy shape and wish you guys a safe journey
That makes sense about the glasses! We definitely have a few more Turkey vlogs coming your way don't worry 🤗- Anna
Nice film, behind the amphitheater you missed the unique house tombs that are very different. The tomb in the street is called the Lion tomb. Research is the key when travelling, just a thought.
Lovely !
Hey guys I’ve been in Kas last year and I e joy so much the “city”
Your turkey video is very nice and delightful 🙂
Beautiful. Love your videos
Thank you...😃 - Trevor
why can't it be turkey ?
I love your drone shots.😊
Thanks 🙏 It sure is a lot easier to get them with scenery that looks like this 😀 - Trevor
again number 2!!! lol...love the video, guys!!
haha... so close again. I'll have to figure out who's getting #1 🤔 Kas is so lovely Taki - Anna
Loved your airbnb! I'd want to stay longer too.
Yeah we extended our stay 3 times there. We spent 2 weeks at that place! It was perfect - Trevor
you are amazing guys
🤗
I like your video. Thank you!
i love kaş, greetings from turkey🇹🇷❤
Thank you! We love this town as well - Anna
Antalya such beautiful place
Spectacular Kaş. However, we would like Kaş to be hidden paradise forever. Social media kills everything.
I so agree 👍👍👍
I love the people of southern Turkey very much that they are like my brothers. 🇸🇦💚🇹🇷
َ
Love kas spend the summer holidays there with my son. Nice to see a good video of it as it gets over looked as it's small. If you go back to kas and big pebble beach use ada beach the beds are free as long as you buy a drink or food nice family who have been running it for years and look after you. Good family friendly place hopefully we will be back this summer.
We think it's highly overlooked as well. Maybe that's part of the charm though with how little people visit - Trevor
Beautifull 🇹🇷
Ocean view :) Even though we don’t have an ocean, glad you liked Kaş and the Mediterranean. Btw, my name is Okyanus which is the direct translation of Ocean to Turkish😁
What is the name of the apartment you stayed in at Kas? It was an amazing spot. I go to Turkey every year, but usually fethiye and Oludeniz. I've been thinking of trying a different area in Turkey. ❤🇹🇷
Best Apart! We stayed in that place for 2 weeks. When we got to Kas (and that apartment) we extended our stay right away. Kas is a lot more chill than Fethiye but we liked both places 🤗 - Anna
kaş is definetly a good idea 🙃 you can also rent villas for more then 10 people there, greetings from turkey 🇹🇷❤
Try Akyaka in summer, you won’t regret it. It is the best summer town in Turkey, imho.
i am from turkey istanbul but i have never been to kaş, i already planned to go to kemer antalya but i think i will change my reservation and go to kaş :))it is quite place than kemer and it is better choice for a family has a baby
@@rda9304 Kaş is much better choice for a family trip as there isn't much to do in Kemer due to several million Russians, lol..
Came here on a day trip and it was a lovely town great shops and lots of places to sit and have a drink or coffee,I have been to the beach that they went to and it was small but perfectly formed
Sounds like a great day trip Vicky. This is easily one of our favourite places on this adventure. What a great town! - Anna
Yeah Baby ❤😁😍
in hot days tea takes your body heat bro, always remember that when you are in turkey lol.
Hope you went to Ada Beach restaurant at Big Pebble Beach. The meatballs and menemen are to die for! Love Kas, had an apartment on the Yarimada from 2004-2014, first visited in 1990 and honeymooned there in 1993.
Suggestion: Northeast Brazil (Maceio / Salvador or Porto Seguro / Bahia)
The best beaches in Brazil!
Thats nice place if turkey
100% we weren't expecting to like it so much - Trevor
5:50 that is true :)
Congrats on 40K guys, I hit 2K this week :-)
Woohoo thanks! 2k is massive well done. I feel like you were just at 1k 🎉 - Trevor
What month were you here? The weather looks spectacular
90 comments? are you joking. You guys are getting famous/popular. what is that coffee thing called or the link to amazon. I love it. thanks again. You should of taken your drone control in a plastic bag into the water and filmed you both that way. can't drown the controls in a zip lock bag. :-) thanks for a great escape. your second honey moon.
We love our little coffee filter. Here's a link to it amzn.to/36d5AoR We highly recommend this thing...it saves us every morning 🤣 - Anna
I have been to every resort on the South Coast of Turkey, my favourite place is Dalyan a beautiful village resort that lies at the side of a river leading to Itzuso beach,my wife and I are looking to buy a property there and live the rest of our days in what we consider the paradise of Turkey!
Hey Delightful Travellers! Great work on this video. I just arrived in Kas yesterday and will be doing my best to explore in my free time. What was your favorite spot? Will be following your adventures. Stay delightful! :-)
Kas looks stunning. Reminds me a lot of Costa Brava in Spain, with the amphitheatre and rocky beaches. Just stunning 😍
Totally! We've been to Costa Brava and we can see elements of that for sure 😃 - Trevor
Turkish people drink plain black tea, similar to Ceylon black tea, or Lipton black tea, but grown in Turkey. Your comment is like you were expecting some kind of exotic flavors, as flowery, fruity flavor or perfumed tea.
Hi guys. Great video. Heading to Kas myself in May of this year. Quick question... what was the apart-hotel called that you showcased in your video with that amazing view?
Thanks. The link is in the description area of the video
Ocean view :))
He he yeah not ocean
you missed the kaputaş beach(best beach of turkey) in kaş
Efes beer number 10!!
Guys, I wish you had taken a boat tour and visited the nearby Köyceğiz and sunken city while you were there. I am absolutely sure you will like it.^^
Hello - really enjoying your videos on Turkey (just discovered them). What time of year was this, please?
Mid October! So glad you're liking our videos - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers hi, im planning to go to KAS on Oct 2020.. how is the weather? im from tropical country so not really can stand with cold weather. should i bring lots sweater/jacket for whole October?

Hi Great video, what month was this shot in?
Hi guys, i just stumbled across your southern Turkey vdos......if you only had 1 week, would you recommend Kas, Oludeniz or Fethiye? thanks!
Sorry butit s not ocean . Great video !
just as I saw the writing, I was gonna ask "why cant it be Turkey?" but already most asked the same... most of Turkey is incredible wonderful
Hii so we have a house there and we go thhere for like 20 years it is the best place in life but the sea is veryyy cold but its 100% worth it to go THE BEST PLACE
THIS CAN JUST BE TURKEY, NO OTHER COUNTY COULD BE THIS PLACE
I am curious how you are getting round in Kas and Fethiye....car? bus? train? What time of the year is this video? Thx for peaking my interest in this part of Turkey.
Bus... and we filmed this just a couple months ago. Let us know if you end up visiting 😃 - Trevor
Oh guys, you went to Fethiye and then to Kas. Why didnt you go to Kaputas beach between Kas and Kalkan ? Havent you heard it before ? It is the probably the most amazing beach in Turkey. You should have seen while going to Kas from Fethiye. After passing Kalkan, there should be alot of cars stopped near the road jsut to get there. If you didnt see just check what you missed '' Kaputas beach Kalkan''
Next time! We did a lot in the little time we had - Trevor
I agree kaputas beach is amazing, I also preferred Kalkan to Kas.
Another wonderful vlog mam love from Pakistan 🙂🇵🇰🇹🇷🥰😍. Best regards from Pakistan 🙂🇵🇰🇹🇷🥰😍🥰.
Loved Kas. What was the name off the actual Air B&B that you stayed?
The Air B&B was called Best Apart Hotel. 🤗 - Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers thank you
Great video. What did u pay for accomodation n was it via airbnb or internet?. Pls advise
Hi , Can you share the name of the apartment you stayed? Even though I click the Airbnb link it only takes you to their general website. Thank you for the great video! Cheers from Toronto!!
Weird! Maybe they aren't on AirBNB anymore. We just updated the link to Booking.com instead as Best Apart Hotel seems to be on there. Hope that helps! It's a great spot. -Anna
But didn’t mention the name of the place where you stayed. Would like to know for my trip. Seems like an amazing place to rent.
The link to where we stayed is in the description area of the video
when was this. cant believe you guys walk around like this in january. turkish people wear jackets if it goes below 25 °C :D
November. We noticed that about Turkish people... they would never survive in Canada ;) - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers thats true for the southcoast people but i would not say that for the northeastern people. in the region of kars and ardahan it gets regularly to minus 25°C in winter ;)
@@DelightfulTravellers So true im from southern Turkey and im freezing below +10 C 🤣🤣
But on the other hand i can resist a lot of heat as it is 35-45 C during summers so i think as Canadians you chose the perfect season to visit Turkey👍👍
