Thanks Lindsey! I’m always learning from you and I appreciate that you take the time to explain the way various mediums work on Bible pages. Have a blessed day! Glad you are feeling a little better!
I so appreciate this video and I went to the blog and printed out that so I could just look at it. this is all so confusing and you have been such a great help.
I think I need the versa fine. So black! I have some stamps that don’t stamp well with pigment inks and some that don’t stamp well with dye inks so I have several black pads already. The other day, I actually used three different black pads on the same page and it made me feel better about myself. Lol
This was so helpful, Lyndsey. I can never keep all these pad inks straight, so I saved this url to use as a ready reference. How about doing the same kind of in depth review on water soluble colored pencils? These Tip Tuesdays are really useful. Thanks so much for taking the time to do them. Blessings to you and your family, Jo
Hi Lindsey, thanks for another great video. I always enjoy and learn from you. Have you ever tried Ranger's Archival Inks? They are a dye ink and dry almost instantly, completely waterproof, don't bleed but do ghost a little, black is quite black. Because they're waterproof they are particularly good for stamping when you'll be coloring in the image with markers or watercolor. A good range of colors, but I use the black, brown and sepia.
I do have a deep grey archival ink that seems to bleed through. I’ll be testing out some more archival inks in the next week or so and will have a separate video featuring those 😉
Thank you for the overall look at the different kinds of ink! Hopefully, by the time I start stamping, there will be a good waterproof black ink that won't bleed through Bible pages. I heard that this year, the company that makes versafine is coming out with a new line of ink pads, so it will be interesting to see how that ink behaves. :)
Sandra Fuchß - thank you for this comment. I was going to ask if these were good or if Lindsey has tried them or any chalk inks. Appreciate the info. God bless!!
Love the Tip Tuesday videos, Lindsey. They (you!) are so informative. Would you consider doing a comparison of some acrylic paints please? I'm really curious about how the Target paints compare to Martha Stewart or Americana types. Are people buying the Target paints because of the cute containers or because they are the latest trend or because they are truly better paints? I remember a comment of yours on IG about how some of the Target colors work better than others. Thank you for considering this.
I think the Target paints are just trendy and come in fun colors. And yes, some colors have a better color pay off then others so they aren’t consistent. I also prefer the squeeze tube of other paints. The Target ones just have fun colors 😂
Also, the Illustrated Faith one smears terribly for me and I wasn't even using water. Even after leaving it to "dry" for quite some time, it still smeared.
Lindsey, thanks for the information. I don’t like bleed through, I don’t know how to fix it. If it is in the column I can paint it, but what about the bleed through over words?
I don’t really have too much bleed through over the words since I don’t typically stamp over the top of the words. If I use distress inks and they bleed then I just incorporate that bleed through into the background of the other page.
I am brand new to stamping in my Bible & I'm very nervous. What would be your best recommendation for a colored ink with the least about of bleed/ghosting? ColorBox seems to have gone out of business.
I very rarely prep my pages, it can prevent bleed through but not all inks play well over gesso. You want to stick to permanent ink like staz on or archival if stamping on gesso.
Perfect video on ink pads..WOW..VersaFine was the only true black..🤗💞💞
Thank You for these tips. There are SOOO many products for Bible Journaling and a beginner has no idea what to use.

Very helpful - I did not know I could use the Color Box inks in my Bible - will have to pull them out and test them

My journaling Bible is by Zondervan, so paper may be a bit different.
Probably since I work in Crossway Bibles.
Just what I needed to know. Thanks so much!
Thank you! A lot of my questions answered!
Very helpful tks v much will happily venture forward now!

I have the versa magic chalk inks and they dont bleed nor move with water when they are bone dry. Thank You fo the video
Good to know, I’ll have to try some of those!
Sandra Fuchß - thank you for this comment. I was going to ask if these were good or if Lindsey has tried them or any chalk inks. Appreciate the info. God bless!!
Thanks so much this is so helpful. Could you show us more accessories videos like how you make your paperclips, tassels and tabs?
Did you see my video all about tabs? ruclips.net/video/hVDiW6Mjicw/видео.html
Oh no I didn't realise you had already done one. Thanks will watch it later. x
Don’t forget Brilliance Graphite Black. It doesn’t bleed through, though there is some shadowing. It’s a pigment ink so it takes a while to dry.
I haven’t tried that one...is it waterproof?
LindseyDecor Yes.
I would love to see a tip Tuesday on Versamagic dew drop inks. Are there other things you can do with them besides just stamping?
I haven’t really tried anything else with them but I’ll look into it.
great tip!! I am so happy you did this for us. I learned a lot!! I'm super excited to buy some colorbox chalk inks now 😀
Thanks Lindsey for sharing this great tip!!
Great information! Thanks Lindsey!!!

Thank you, Lindsey. Those colors do pull you in.
Thank you! So helpful!
great!!! was soo looking for this video! thanks a lot!
So very helpful. Thanks so much.

LindseyDecor that’s why we have you, I never thought of that. I still get in panic mode when I sit down with bible to journal.
Thank you so much!
Hi Lindsey. I am new to this. If I watercolor in the margin of my Bible, can I use illustrated faith ink pad on top of dried water color?
On top yes but not underneath since the IF inks aren’t permanent.
LindseyDecor Thanks Lindsey💗
I am brand new to stamping in my Bible & I'm very nervous. What would be your best recommendation for a colored ink with the least about of bleed/ghosting? ColorBox seems to have gone out of business.
VersaMagic chalk inks are a great option. They are waterproof when heat set and don’t seem to bleed in most Bibles (always test in the back first 😉)
LindseyDecor Thank you soo much ❤️❤️
Super helpful!!
Did you prep your page before doing this? I'm new to Bible journaling. If pages are prepped, does that prevent any bleed through our ghosting?
I very rarely prep my pages, it can prevent bleed through but not all inks play well over gesso. You want to stick to permanent ink like staz on or archival if stamping on gesso.
Thank you so much.
Lindsey, does VersaMagic Dew Drop Chalk Ink Pads bleed through bible pages? I am looking to buy, I bought the dye inks by mistake.
I haven’t had a problem with them in the Illustrating Bible but the darker colors “may” bleed in a regular journaling Bible.
LindseyDecor thanks, I am looking for something to take on vacation.
Awesome video! TFS
What are your thoughts on Ranger Archival ink?
Ill have a video out soon talking about them 😉
Very helpful
can you tell me your opinion on Archival ink?
I’ll be having an in-depth video on archival ink and other Ranger products soon 😉
