I live in Costa Rica and we have 2 coconut trees loaded with fruit. I love fresh green coconut water and I’m so excited now to try making my own coconut milk. Thanks for the recipe!
Awesome, I've been using your Almond milk recipe video for my morning espresso and pour-overs for a few months now. It's by far the best home made almond milk recipe and it's much much better than all the store bought ones I've tried.
To make it easier to get the coconut out of the shell I freeze the coconut before. You just have to open one of the holes and get the water out. Freeze the coconut for 2 days and crack it open. The nut will shrink and loose from the shell.
I really enjoyed watching you make coconut milk and adding the cashew milk. Towards the end of your video, I just about lost it when you made the matcha latte! It was a treat to watch and the icing on the cake for me. I love matcha tea and can't wait to try your version. Thank you, Will!
This was by far the most relaxing video I’ve watched this week. The drink looks yummy and the added steamed coconut milk looks like a ❤on top of the matcha at 10:5510:56 Great presentation!
Hi Wil! I missed seeing you on Sunday! Ok, coconut milk is wonderful! I use it all the time in my curry recipes and rice dishes. It adds richness and sweetness to all my food. Thank you again...and again.❤🙏 Tip: The kernel comes out easier if you warm the outside of the shells a bit...over your flame.
I live in Malaysia and we have lots of coconut trees. However, only until recently, I have only used the coconut milk ( we called it “santan “ in Malaysia) to cook curry dishes. Nowadays we have many coconut drink stalls that use young coconut meat to make coconut shakes with added fruits like avocado, mango, etc . Coconut shakes is now my favourite drink. So yummy.
I grew up with palm trees in my backyard- I really appreciate how often you use coconut in your recipes and I really appreciate this one in particular. I always buy canned coconut milk but I am going to try this over the weekend. Gracias!
Thank you for this great video. I love coconut milk and find it’s not very good when purchasing commercial brands. I plan on making my own after watching your preparation method.💕💕
Wow pretty amazing, getting new idea from you Mr chef. We usually use coconut milk in can now I could probably buy a fresh coconut and try the same procedure. Thanks for sharing. More power and God bless always.
I watched your video and your a amazing chef. I was just curious if I have a coconut that is brown what is the best way to remove the shell from the husk of the coconut?, and also when pouring coconut water out of it and when brown with husk fibers or hairs how can I remove the husk fibers and dirt so the coconut water is clear?. Also how do I know when coconut water is bad when pouring it into a cup?. Sorry about all these questions it’s first time harvesting a coconut 😅.
You were right! I made this and I’ll never go back to the shop bought stuff. It frothed perfectly too. It was delicious! Thanks for sharing your secrets with us 😁
Thank you, Will, for sharing this recipe for coconut milk. I just made it today, and it is so delicious! Better then store bought. Going to try the matcha latte. ☺️
Thank you for this. You make it look so easy, probably because you are professional. I tried cracking open a coconut once 3 years ago and it was a method I used by putting the coconut in an oven then cracking it where the eyes are, that took ages and getting the coconut meat out took me 3 hours. I never bought coconut again.
I cannot wait to make my matcha latte tomorrow morning like you did. Your video was so relaxing to watch that I actually watched it twice. Thank you for being such a calming influence in my life.
Amazing recipe, as always! I just have a question, could we use the coconut water for the milk recipe? Coconut water is such a good hydration source for the body, that I would like to use it and not waste it. Although it could always be used separately, or course.
Thanks for your great input, very valuable video! I’ve just been wondering, how do you know then if the coconut is fresh, I’m not sure I caught you say it specifically. I’m asking because I’ve done it 3 times now and the first one lasted for 3 days but the other two only for a day and then it got weirdly lumpy 🫣😅 what am I missing? Thanks! 🙏
What are your thoughts on putting the cracked coconut into a 400 degree oven for 12-13 minutes then the coconut releases completely from the shell with just a little nudging from a butter knife? Do you think this cooks the coconut? I saw this technique and tried it. It works perfectly but I did see some steam coming off the coconut.
These ones here were purchased for the sale of the milks back when we ran the nut milk business. However, I’ve seen similar ones at bulk food stores or even online 👌🏻
Oh ok. Thank you. I love your vlogs so peaceful and very simple healthy food. I love to cook and desire to eat more plant base food. Thank you sir sharing. Do you get your stainless pots on line?
Thank you so much for this videos, this one was very relaxing and also inspiring. I have one question, so I am from Costa Rica and I would like to start my coconut milk business. Do I need to add preservatives in order to store it? If so what kind should I use, I want the product to be at its highest quality and taste and maintain it natural. You know what I mean.. Ty!
I just made it!!! You’re right, so much more delicious than anything I can find in stores. This will be in smoothies and on my cereal. Thank you Wil for sharing your secret recipe! It’s so easy and so good!!!!
😱 the mature coconut water doesn’t always have the nicest flavour - unlike the young green coconut water. All good to use if desired, however, I would recommend taste testing first
I love using coconut milk but am sensitive to too much saturated fat as it can raise my cholesterol even on a plant based diet. Therefore it is a treat occasionally enjoyed, usually at our favorite Thai restaurant or when I get a craving for vegan rice pudding. There are a few popsicle recipes I've been looking to try this summer and it may be fun to try making my own for that.
Hi Yeung Man! You have the most soothing voice known to man. I thought I was organized but, when you opened up your cabinet door pt.9:34...I almost started crying. That made my day! :) Can't wait to try the Coconut Chickpea Milk to go with your recipe for Chickpea Fritters. Btw, loved the milk bottles. Can you direct me to where I might purchase them? Thx.
Thank you for this recipe. I love your almond/cashew milk and make it all the time. This one this one is perfect too. I have not added the cashew milk to this yet as I wanted to experience the coconut milk on its own first. But I will next time.
I purchased the exact same looking coconuts that were imported from same place. However my meat in one of them was still pearl white but had a mushy consistency. Looked fine, smelled normal. Is it safe to eat?
By watching and using a lot of your recipes I've learned how to use cashews to make creams. I use it in so many dishes. I'm not a big fan of coconut but I'm going to try this one ( I already have your nut milk bag ; )
I live in a very small town in the mountains 3 hours away from a major city. Our grocery store does not carry fresh or frozen coconuts. How do I use organic coconut flakes to make decent milk?

That is wonderful to hear and makes me smile to know how much you are enjoying. You’ll have to let me know if you give this a go 👨🏻🍳🙌🏻

Very interesting 🙌🏻
🤯
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING it works
Does freezing affect the flavor or texture of the meat?
@@marisalee194 in my experience it doesn’t

Oh wow! That would have been wonderful and sounds dreamy 🌴 Enjoy!
Lovely, thank you! How about using the coconut milk itself instead of adding water, would that work?
9:25 this may have already been answered but do you have a fav matcha brand or supplier you use? Also for bamboo whisks?
I really enjoyed this video!
This was so relaxing! Your voice and the music was just delightful! ❤ great recipe, thank you!
Thanks so much! 😊
Great video, thank you...what is the purpose of salt in the coconut and when you were selling the milk, what extended their shelf life
Thank you for this great video. I love coconut milk and find it’s not very good when purchasing commercial brands. I plan on making my own after watching your preparation method.💕💕

Amazing recipe, as always! I just have a question, could we use the coconut water for the milk recipe? Coconut water is such a good hydration source for the body, that I would like to use it and not waste it. Although it could always be used separately, or course.
It’s possible - however, taste test the water first. Sometimes the flavour isn’t as pleasant as young coconut
This was a very useful video on how to prep a coconut. Thank you Will.
🙌🏻🥳🥥

Great video! ❤ One question … can you just add the cashews to the coconut meat in the blender all at once?
WOW !! This is Amazing Yeung !! It Reminded Old Days.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Aldo, U could open one of the 3 eyes at the top of the coconut to release the water.
Better yet: open two of the eyes, one to release the water the other to allow air to enter and make everything easier 😊

I'd love to have a matcha latte right now! It looks so delicious 😋

What might be the best store bought coconut milk 🥛 ? please , 💝
Thank you as usual for a superb video. Question: when making cashew milk it does not have to be strained?
Depends on how long you blend it and if you presoak them. A quick strain is never bad, though.
We find it not necessary with this method 🙌🏻
Just wondering what kind of coffee machine you use. it’s beautiful ❤
It is the Breville Barista 🙌🏻👨🏻🍳
we love matcha but have not tried it with this milk, definitely on our "to do" list!
You are in for a treat 🙌🏻😎
My heart sank upon hearing the word ‘discarded’ for coconut 🥥 water.. 😊 I love all your videos, it’s healing in a way

Thank you for expanding my knowledge horizons. A tasty coconut milk powder may save a lot of time and effort. I will try that with cashews.
Your kitchen faucet please tell me the brand and it looks like you have liquid soap attached please tell me🙋🏽♀️🛐🤗

In Sri Lanka we usually use coconut milk for our cooking. We add coconut milk to many curries, we use coconut milk for making milk rice.
Yummmm 🙌🏻
How to make pancake with oat flakes and bran oat ? Do you know and advice us ?
Can you also run them through a cold presser?
I cracked open a coconut a couple of years ago just like you with a hammer. It was a satisfying experience. ;)
🙌🏻
Is it necessary to put salt in the coconut milk
my question is what brand is that matcha!
Do you sell the milk bottles on your site or can you direct me to where you purchased them so that I can buy them. Thx
I purchased the exact same looking coconuts that were imported from same place. However my meat in one of them was still pearl white but had a mushy consistency. Looked fine, smelled normal. Is it safe to eat?
