I look at everything I get in the mail before I toss it, even though I toss almost all of it. By the same token, I look at every email I get before I junk it, so not sure how to judge the difference.

Good tips! I can understand it’s about consistency in a targeted area. One also has to take into account the cost of those efforts as well. This video gives some good tips on attempting to strike that balance.
We have a list of names/addresses. We are looking to target. Do you have any recommendations for which company we should hire? Looking to send a total of 20,000 pieces.
What if i know without a shadow of a doubt that the people i a mailing are actively in market for what i offer, and the average buying cycle is between 14-30 days? Do i still need to repeat mailings?
Yes! You don't know if they will for sure see it the first time. Maybe they are shopping around and pass you up the first time and then the second time they call. You just never know so it's always better to do repeat mailings.
This doesn't make any sense. Sending out constant post cards is ALOT of money. EDDM for one route is like 150-200 dollars (about 550 addresses). The cost to print 5000 post cards is like 600-800 dollars. If you send out 5000 post cards every month, that's like 3,000 dollars every month just for the marketing. It seems like you're talking to established businesses because a business just starting out cannot even come closer to a 3k/month marketing budget. They can probably do 200-500 per month (if that). It's so frustrating when marketers talk this big game about getting results, but "oh yeah, you have to pay us pretty much whatever you earn in your business". It ends up being a circle jerk. Sell your product/service, pay what you made to the marketer so he can get you another client, rinse repeat. If the cost to acquire a client is more expensive than what you're making on the client, then the business is doomed to fail.
Yes, you definitely have to have the budget for this particular strategy. I would never tell a brand new business to start with postcards first (unless they had some sort of outside capital to put toward it). Every marketing strategy should make you more money than you put into it. If you pay $3000 per month for postcards for example, then the return should be much more than that for it to make sense for your business.

Great tips! Direct Mail still works. Largely depends on the tactics and testing to be really effective. Thanks for posting 🙂

I mail postcards and flyers for my "Work From Home" opportunities and it works! The key is staying consistent with your mailings! Great video! 📬
