i really agree with the nct one! i also dont want a group with majority white members but it would be amazing to see other races succeed in kpop, black man, Indian man, middle eastern man, this is the change we need, specifically coming from the agency that literally created kpop
im absolutely against that reasoning, if it's a survival show based I hope the best talent succeeds and if that's all people of a certain race, they earned it... diversity is great but diversity for the sake of diversity aint it
tbh as an east asian i just want to keep kpop as something we east asians can have for ourselves. i’m not against other races joining but it’s just like… this is one of the things in the world that we can have for ourselves
Now, if this is going to be a group that will stay in the U.S., then I wouldn't be surprise if the group is racially diverse. However, if the group will be stationed in South Korea, then I wouldn't be surprised if the group ends being Korean.
i like boygroups and i have to admit i kinda simp on some members but i never think of stuff like dating them or smth... it makes me cringe when male idols act like boyfriends😭
The one about iz*zone. I somewhat agree. In my opinion they were a really successful group in their time and i highly believe if they were still a group, at least two more years from now they would've been ranked as one of the most popular and successful girl groups for the fourth generation and in kpop and jpop history. They also brought something different in terms of concepts. We all know that girl crush and teen crush is the most used concept and iz*one having an elegant, flower concept made them stand out. I do have to admit, the fans kind of over boasted on some things like their songs. Their bsides are wayyy better than their title tracks. I think every member is memorable though.
True but people need to learn that gfriend started doing well separately now and the disbandment doesn't matter anymore since it did not sever their friendship any way. They're doing well individually and I think this is the opportunity that source music wouldn't give to them if they're still in the idol life.
Well for the IZONE piece, For them being the leaders if 4th gen (unless you count being one of the first). I think it is still too early for to call someone the leader of the 4th gen. It has been only like 4 or 5 years of 4th gen gg. We do not really know who will be the iconic ggs until maybe mid to late part of the generation. With the vague line on what is 3rd gen Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Gfriend ,and BP only came 4,5 ,and 6 years after. We do not know who will come in the near future. They had a huge advantage in people thinking that they are iconic, they were one of the first 4th gen gg. So, that puts them first in the spotlight so they grab as much of the market share as soon as possible. They also were in the follow up of the produce series to many people who watched the first two seasons are now watching the 3rd. They also had brought in big names like Sakura who was one of the most popular HKT48 members and Chaeyeon fmr, JYP trainee and a sixteen contestant with IOI's center Somi. But I think they are iconic in their own way. IZONE has sold over 3 million albums sales which more than Mamamoo (1.2 million) and Red velvet (1.17 million) combine and if you want to compare to IOI, Coloriz has more album sales than the total of IOI. They also have two platinum certifications in Japan which only twice has superseded. They brought their songs to the second biggest music market in the world. They were also the only ones in 4th gen doing elegant concept which is very different from current 4th gen gg and even 3rd gen gg. Which can be a blessing and a curse, only 1 concept can really narrow your audience but it would produce a very loyal fanbase (especially if you are the only one doing it). Another evidence on how iconic IZONE was there was something called the Universe Project, it was a initiative that would try to have a contract extension or make a sub unit out of the disbandment of IZONE, unfortunately it failed due to some companies refusal of agreeing on a deal. Fans still are loyal to IZONE even after their disbandment. They did a lot in those 2 and a half years they had. Practically they had less because of the unveiling of the produce scandal they had to have a hiatus of 4 months. If they had a longer contract (maybe even IOI wanna one and x1) they would rival the groups of the big four. But we can only speculate.
I like both Perfect World and Alcohol-Free. In fact, both songs are on my everyday playlist. Alcohol-Free is nice easy listening and Perfect World is about women standing up for themselves. Nothing wrong with that.
1. IZ*ONE did their best for the little time they had, people wanted them back and even started a funding project to get them back, but i dont think that they're gonna blow up even if they come back, because other groups are taking over.
No 6 is a wake up call for me, but yeah I had started getting in terms with Gfriend's end. I am how hyped for Sojung, Yerin, Yuju, and VIVIZ. FIGHTING!!!

I simp for male idols but I just see them as friends. Seeing them more than that makes me feel weird 💀
6:18 this is more of a hard to swallow pill rather than an unpopular opinion
you're right! I may make a video of those some day too!

IZONE were perfect group for us WIZONE, and we never care about what the others think about them.

If NCT Hollywood gets diverse and gets hit, it would really help kpop industry understand other cultures and be inclusive of all.
First
Ahah thank you!
I don't think any produce groups had super great impact. Iz*one digitals were not that great
