- I love, love, love a freshly scoured curly bfl fleece however the process to get one from sheep to my wheel is something I dread. I've been a fiber artist for over a dozen years and I can say that I have scoured less than a handful of them but I just had to have this curly bfl fleece. I have sensory issues that affect my stomach as well.
A tip that works for me: I take a pure essential oil and just used my fingertip to put a few dabs near my nose. I use lavender because it's a scent i know i tolerate well.

I love washing fleece, but I almost always wear gloves because I don't like the feel of trying to wash lanolin off.
Also, and it would be way to expensive and annoying to try. But I've bought tons of fleeces and they can smell different depending on the sheep breed and farm? So weird.

Thank you! It was rough but I really wanted those curls! On the next one I'm going to try gloves while skirting and see if that helps but I think after getting through this one it may be easier. It's definitely the lanolin that bothers me but this fleece came out gorgeous.
