I love washing fleece, but I almost always wear gloves because I don't like the feel of trying to wash lanolin off. Also, and it would be way to expensive and annoying to try. But I've bought tons of fleeces and they can smell different depending on the sheep breed and farm? So weird. Proud of you for pushing through 😊

Well, here is the problem that happens at our goodwill and other thrifts in the area. The workers that sort the donations in the back, call friends and family and alert them to yarn that will be put out. The average Jane, such as myself can shop these shops dozens of times on various days, at various times and never see a decent bag of yarn. I am fed up with this practice and just recently found this out from a person that volunteers at a local thrift 😢

The Goodwill that I go to hardly ever has anything.

I like doiley on your table. I watch the tutorials as i have enough yarn to probably have my own yarn shop. So i get my hoarding in control towant to buy yarn . Thank you. When i was much younger, I would add to my yarn stach by going to closing stores, and buying yarn at clearance prices.

All the red variegated, like the ones you have 10 of, how many ounces is each skein. You don't say how many ounces any of your yarn. You don't smell it. You don't rub it into your face, or neck, to see how soft it is. You speak waaaaay to soft. I couldn't understand what you were saying about 3/4's, of the time. You also need to look at your camera, not beside it.

Are you nervous about bringing home “little friends” with second hand yarn? Is there anything you do to prevent becoming infested? I thought I was safe from moths by not keeping wool or cashmere…but then I learned about CARPET BEETLES🫣 Lady from my yarn club said she picked some thrift store yarn up and immediately started sneezing. She thought it was the dust, but when she started to unravel the skein little larvae started to fall out😳. She took pictures for us - they looked like little evil yarn contaminating caterpillars. She said she didn’t see a way to salvage the yarn so she just threw it away. It had some pretty great stuff in there too. Am I the only one that has never heard of these little demons? Every bug I see outside I think it’s a carpet bettle. I’m so itchy!

Yeah - thrift stores are becoming too expensive for what you get a lot of times

The DAV thrift stores are a phenomenal source for yarn and it’s low priced, too! All the Goodwill stores sells yarn for almost “new” prices!!!

WOW! Thank you for the fantastic suggestion of looking for yarn at thrift stores. I never thought about that. I’m on a fixed income and find that yarn is often just entirely too expensive. I love to knit and crochet, but barely have enough yarn stash to make much of anything. I’m definitely going to have to start making trips to all the local thrift stores here. Again, great suggestion!
