The normal Microsoft channels were too vague, but your steps solved this problem 1st time and the latest quality update has now installed. In following your steps, I also discovered that system protection was off for my windows drive, so that was an opportunity to turn it on. Thank you & now subscribed.

Might be late but if it says esd, just type that instead .
DISM command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
