  • Fieldpiece PRH2 w/ a small rare earth magnet. 👍 Easy Peasy.
    Wet-bulb measurement w/ a damp paper towel and (accurate) infrared thermometer.
    It does work 🌡️🌡️🌡️
    Thanks for watching guys 👍

    And by 5° I mean....."Actual" Superheat v/s "Target" Superheat. If you are within +/- 5° you are good.
    Get you some magnets guys 👍

    Fantastic!
    Thanks.
    (Now I have to go back and refresh in wet-bulb/dry-bulb. You don't see that often in these HVAC videos.)

      Haha, it's definitely science, but I don't know that we need to try and turn it into rocket science. Some guys out there are just trying to make things way too complicated. Thanks for watching 👍
      And don't forget to buy some neodymium magnets. #magnetsareyourfriend

    Great tips. I've always wondered about the accuracy of those little guys. Might have to pick one up! Just got the Accessory head for my stick meter and I'm waiting to try it out. That will retire my standalone one and streamline the tool bag a bit more

    Excellent video. For a homeowner, using a fieldpiece pocket psychrometer, where is the best place inside the home, to measure the indoor relative humidity percentage? At the return air? Or take measurements in different areas of the home to get an average?

    • @sknight0391
      @sknight0391  Год назад +1

      Always at the return.

    • @TJ-22
      @TJ-22 Год назад

      @@sknight0391 OK, thanks. Sometimes the percentage at the return air is the same as in other areas of the house, but sometimes the percentage is higher at the return air.

    Or you can put it closer to the evap coil to get a more accurate reading and put it in the return plenum no problem

    • @sknight0391
      @sknight0391  5 лет назад +4

      But then you have to drill a huge hole in the ductwork. It is plenty accurate enough at the return grill. Wet-bulb readings are not rocket science 😎👍 thanks for watching.

    Do you recommend PRH2 or SDP2? Will PRH2 be sufficient for all HVAC work?

      Prh2 is really all you need.

      @sknight0391  3 года назад +1

      @@vertihvost7675 you can't always rely on every system having a TXV. sooner or later you will run across one with an orifice. But it's always good to know what your humidity and wet bulb inside the structure is. But technically you could get by without it.

      Great question!
      This is a crucial question for where wet-bulb/dry-bulb fits in the daily life.
      I watched this and scratched head wondering "where do I use this? I know they talk about it in the classroom videos, but I've never seen it used in the live-on-the-scene videos."
      Good RUclips-exploration project for free evening.
