    some of us starting out need to keep it to the minimum amount and cheapest tools possible. do you think you could provide links to just those mandatory and the cheapest (within quality thresholds) and do that in categories. So for example, it would be good to know the entire set of tools needed for R-22 only (cheapest possible), then for R-410, etc BUT then a sub-category for the type of system (piston, etc.).. so what you get is a layered approach. So one category (or column on a spreadsheet) would say R-22 (Piston) and then list all the mandatory equipment needed at the cheapest possible price (within quality thresholds) and so forth and so on. Not sure if that's a lot of time , perhaps you already have something like that thrown together. Great video and excellence in your trade!

    Craig, thanks so much for all your videos. I wonder if you can make a video for the scenario that the refrigerant is already really low, as soon as you start charging the system, the evaporator coil will freezing up, what to do in this situation? You know that the system is nearly empty on refrigerant, but when you try to charge it, the evaporator start icing. The video like that probably will benefit a lot of people. Thanks.

      Tong Li if we find a system that low. We add Nitrogen, get the leak detectors out. Its getting out somewhere. Follow the line set as much as is possible, find a lot of leaks that way.
      But if you can’t/don’t find a leak, turn unit off, look at factory charge on data plate, put a couple pounds in, the start unit.

    Hi. Since the wet bulb temperature decreases as the system runs, at what point do I decide that I have the correct super-heat, and I have the system properly charged? Thanks. Keep the videos coming. Great job!

    • @acservicetechchannel
      @acservicetechchannel  4 года назад +1

      You would need to line the target superheat and the actual superheat at the same value while the system runs. We have a full length article on the superheat charging method with pics at www.acservicetech.com/articles thanks!

    Back in the 80's we installed a humidifier and the home owner was not convinced. She had a front -- area grew plants and it was very high humidity in there. She didn't even need a humidifier, but she was convinced it was too low. I made my first psychrometer with two identical thermometers and a sock. She claimed it was a "home made toy." So we bought a Bacharach for more money and went back out there WITH my "toy". I showed her that the figures were just a percent or two within the fancy instrument. GOD that woman was a bitch!!!

      Works well but in the beginning, it's best to know how to do it manually. Begging the lazy person I have become , I also am using the FP probe set instead of the manual method but prefer the Measure quick Application inside.

    Hi Sir why I have to seperate Rh and Rc if I have dual fuel appreciate your help

    • @dwight.bennett
      @dwight.bennett 4 года назад

      If there are two power sources in a Dual-Fuel system, the call for W to fire heat is derived from Rh. It is going to depend on if the 2nd heat source's controls are entirely separate or integrated with the first.

    So, I could use my hvac Fluke meter temp probe with a wet sock on it? May be a dumb question for some but I’d like to know it’d work.

    In all my years of calling Hvac people to different buildings. I dont think I ever seen one person test the WB and DB. They just charge the thing.
    I suppose its fine to go about it this way but it only takes what.. 5-10 mins to check it correctly?
    Guess if you going to 5 or so places a day it could save you an hour.

    • @tongli866
      @tongli866 4 года назад

      hmmmm, i think that the web bulb temp and the dry bulb temp are different. The target superheat calculation requires indoor wet bulb temp. Sock makes it wet.
