    Just bought mine from GC yesterday ($175 each w 2 yr warranty)and after your review even more psyched about my next gig! GC wanted ($415 each before warranty)for JBL 10"! I'm sure sound and features quality much better too, but just too much$$$. Thanks for the review!

      They are pretty crisp n clear and loud. You can always move up to 15's if you need more volume.

    @Newcastle Music Studio wanted some input. I have a room roughly 10×10. At which I Dj in and or mess around mixing. In this I am old school and am on house speakers. On a Onkyo AV rec tied into a Behringer VMX-1000 board. Problems I have had for years is toasting tweeters. Also floppy bass and well, just not the right setup. I play alot of stuff with bass such as reggae. Also alot of high stuff such as rock. Volume can get pretty loud. I seek tweeters that can withstand stuff. Bass that has a punch and is tight. Think these should do the job? Stupid question but I must run stereo and I assume these speakers are stereo? Lastly- they will be hung on each side of the room few foot up from floor. I'd say 7ft.

      SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY. I hear what you are saying. I guess my most logical answer/question would how long before your average speakers burn out? 3 months 9 months? These seem to handle sound well but they are 10's, you will always have better luck with 15's since they can produce more Volume without cranking the knob to all the way up. The main issue I have noticed with powered speakers like these is they get pretty hot after a couple hours of use which can lead to the circuitry burning out.
      I would say finding a speaker with enough power is your issue, if they are wearing out too fast.
      Getting an extended Warranty or just using the warranty that comes with whatever speaker is key in not wasting money. So if teh warranty is 12 months n the fail at 6 months you can get them replaced.
      These particular speakers have great clarity in the tweeters i think "for their price" as far as Bass, it is there but I don't know how much Bass these could handle. Some people say they "really pump" I cannot confirm that as I avoid heavy Bass because I don't want to ruin them.
      I would almost buy a couple used cheap Subwoofers to place on the floor that you are not worried about ruining versus cranking up the Bass EQ on a mixer or something. Just a thought..
      I think it is QSC Speakers are considered to be extremely reliable and have a great sound profile and Bass... however they are ridiculously expensive. Alto also has a Line 1 step up from these that are a little more expensive but have more power and are still budget friendly compared to QSC.

    What’s your general opinion this with a 10” JBL EON speaker? From price point this is very appealing. My purpose of use of the PA speakers is to dj in house parties.

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  3 года назад

      It is pretty good/ loud. I got mine on sale at $129 each it was a great deal.
      Originally I misread your comment. If you mean adding or pairing the alt 10" with a jbl either one or a pair?? If it would suffice for a house party with dimension around 18x24 feet and say 40 people max with the speaker height adjusted around 6-6.5 feet just at the tops of everyone's head... The more people and the larger the room the Loudness of the speaker will be diffused and not nearly as loud.

    75Hz on the low is pretty poor, does the bass sound lacking? Compared to the TS310 of 54 Hz for reference

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  3 года назад

      Perhaps a little. I dont play or listen to a lot of heavier bass music so it is not really an issue for me. They wont "Thump" like a dedicated subwoofer.. You still have the lower end there at 75-200 Hz... But i would say u just dont get the same 808 bass drum tone n the very low end. They are excellent for rock/metal more acouatic based music rather than Club/Hip Hop etc.
      You could pair them with a good Subwoofer if you really need that low end.
      In general they sound clean n crisp. But that's just my opinion. If you have owned more expensive brands like QSC you may not like them.
      Best of Luck.

    Can a sub woofer be connected to this speaker to get more bass frequency?

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  3 года назад

      You would want to ideally connect your sub woofer to the outputs on a mixer along with these speakers. You can chain the speaker together for mono so YES you could with an XLR to a 1/8 jack or whatever input your subwoofer has, but I wouldn't recommend doing it that way.

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  3 года назад

      @@jimmybrooks3411 you could get away with just 2... However if you are at the back of the room and extra pair would help or you could tier them in your setup. My house is 36x24... they lose a little punch if you separate them by more than 12 feet. But if you want full borderline concert sound 4 would do it n that room size... It may differ my ceiling is 8 feet.. also something to consider
