A soul.
Along with gladiator, troy, and the lord of the rings trilogy

Yes, Inara, it is really emotional...
Ever since this film came into my life . I say that about everyone ive lost over the years because in my heart they live on . Until the day of my passing when I see them again
This film (not a movie) has so much more then just a good story . It is Beautiful.

Something about the movies from early 2000, they hit different! Like Troy, gladiator, this and a hundred more!
Golden age of modern cinema to me!
Its when those actors become a certain age, I mean just think of the great actors we seen grow up just getting better an better, comedy actors decided to do real movies an floored us with how great they are
I think that New writers and directors are no more interested in the epic genre. The last good one i saw was 1917.
@@rufokazuma3577 no one wants to take real risks, even if they are risking it tgey have massive budgets to basically wave shiny stuff an try making us forget, loved 1917, the last movie I watched that made me feel some thing was the departed, (seen it loads) but that movie still grips me, a movie that makes u believe its real are the best😁
@@BipoIarbear yeah I think it’s just because movies like fast and the furious series is what sells today and I mean I enjoy those ridiculous dumb movie because they are fun but they don’t give you that feeling like these types of movies so in my opinion at least
Perfectly articulates the story. A westerner isn’t the last samurai, he is but a witness to a dying era and finding a mournful solace in its twilight.
Oh sit down Jackie Chan and let us be who we want to be I never understand how modern society is such a contradiction of itself we want equality in race gender class so on but we sabotage the road to it Japan is a example of this it has lingering notion of isolationist attitudes and yet its population is declining and yet it doesn't realize how popular its culture is there are people who have interest in following bushido teachings people who want to live in its country yet I think there a fear that still exists in them fear of allowing western and Japanese cultures mixing unfortunately this is something that cannot be stopped
… oh my god🥺😦😢
My favorite comment that could have been made.
@@YaburuRunyaru Thank you.
Japanese does not differentiate between plural and singular unless one puts a counter on it, like say hitotsu or futatsu (1 count or 2 count, or more if you wish).
So ''Samurai'', like say ''Pokemon'', can be one or many.
The Last Samurai, in my opinion, refers to the entire ''army'' of Samurai.
All of them.
''For they are all perfect.''
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor.

Amazing narration about Japan
" *You have your honor again, let me die with mine* " - Katsumoto
“I believe a man does what he can until his destiny is revealed to him” one of the most memorable quotes of the history of the action/war genre.
"From the moment they wake, they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they pursue."
Pretty much sums up Japan today...

Katsumoto: Now...

N. Algren: So you will take your own life...

Katsumoto: The way of the Samurai is not necessary anymore.
N. Algren: Necessary?
What could be more necessary?
What happened to the Warriors of Thermopylae ? Dead to the last Man .

Bro went from "Why are we having these conversations, what do you want from me?" to "I will miss our conversations".
The last scene exactly depicts battle of Merta . De Boigne French commander in his memoir praised Rathore Cavalry charge which made maratha fled from battle but later they were mowed down by De Boigne's infantry with modern weapons. De Boigne mention how not even one Rathore showed his back and embraced the bullet in waves finally cutting down half of De Boign's own men.
He Called those rathore "The saffron clad horsemen"
Ah this brings back memories, haven't seen this film in a while. As always, amazing work
Thank you!
This is one of my favorite movies. I grew up in Japan and omg, all the complements he gives the Japanese in this movie are so true. They’re so polite, selfless, honorable, honest. And there’s no crime believe it or not. It’s a completely different lifestyle as opposed to America. Which is where I moved a few years ago. And I hate it. People are so arrogant, ignorant, disrespectful of foreigners and their customs and lifestyles, there’s crime at least three times a week, and live such a decedent lifestyle. I want nothing more than to return to Japan and live there for the rest of my life.
Two examples. When I first moved to Japan I left my laptop on the plane. Before making it to baggage claim one of the Japanese flight attendants was shouting to get my attention, all the Japanese locals were pointing behind me to try to tell me to turn around. This Japanese flight attendant was running in high heels to return my laptop. She appologized in Japanese and bowed (idk what she was apologizing for but that’s how nice they are) I bowed and thanked her in what little Japanese I knew at the time. You would never in a million years see that in America.
Another example, a Japanese mechanic who taught me to fix and work on cars. He had a red R32 Skyline GTR, I later got a Subaru WRX, blob eye. He taught me all with a massive language barrier. Me who spoke English and hardly any Japanese. And him who was the reverse. He spent all day teaching me how to weld and while he left me alone to practice on scrap metal he’d bring me a water from the vending machine nearby. I’d try to pay him back with Yen but he turned it down and said “no no (he had a pause with a big smile on his face and said) my job” btw it was his day off so I knew he was doing it out of the kindness of his heart, just didn’t know how to say it. That was just one day. He’d go on to teach me many more things throughout the next year, all for free, always turning down the yen I tried giving him in return, even during his work hours. All this still with a massive language barrier. I learned a tad bit more Japanese from him but not a lot. Before I left I made damn sure I visited him to tell him goodbye, thank him, and give him a hug.
There’s also people that live like this in Japan, kinda like the Amish. Except in Japan with Japanese culture. They wear kimono’s, live in those old fashion Japanese homes and just live like they used to back then. And reject all the western lifestyle crap that’s corrupted america.
The Japanese are a treasure of Mankind. Yes we saw them at their worst in WW II, the Americans will feel this sting i get it. But even the most peaceful entity of our Earth, will resolve to violence when you push it enough... Japan had it's reasons to engage WW II those who search know it. It's not like Japan woke up a day "Ah, War it is." Right? There's SO much to learn and know from the old Japan, and the current. I loved reading your story maybe someday i'll go there. I'just too afraid i'll disappoint them with my European work ethics etc...
Man i hate i read that bunch of soft bs now im on my way 2 Kfc 2 get a nice bucket of chicken 😂😂
Another phenomenal edit, Zurik. Thank you.
Thank you so much, man! :)
@@Zurik23M I agree with Daniel you do absolutely phenomenal work I cant tell you how many times I have watched your edits dude from redemption of rd2 to Turn Washington spies my favorite show. Pursue your gift dude as god has given you a mighty talent.
To know life in every breath.
These words mean so much to me and have been in one form or another my compass in dark times. My father fighting Leukemia and passing, trials and tribulations that tested my very soul to it's core, and dark moments of utter despair. I look and see the importance of the here and now and how precious every moment is for the past has lessons to teach but is gone and the future you can plan for but not know but if you can take pleasure in life in the here and now, you can know what hope means and what a precious thing our fragile lives are. Least this is what this means to me.
The Last samurai deserved someone like you. A Masterpiece as always. 👏
Thank you so much!
This movie introduced me to Hans Zimmer looking back, I don’t think there could have been a better movie for such a role.
Anyone going through a heartbreak or anything that's tearing you apart. Don't worry. Take it day by day. Keep on moving. You got this! The world is your oyster, and you're the pearl.
Hans Zimmer score is magnificent ❤️

"They have come to destroy what I have come to love"
I don't cry a lot but damn
I love this freaking movie so much.
The philosophy behind all this is so great and helps lead a good life.
OMG Yes!
I have watched this film three times and although it romanticises the period, it is a great film!
That soundtrack
"But there is intead something... spiritual in this place. And tho it may foreever be obscured to me, i cannot but be aware of it's power."
Thank you again for the amazing edit. This movie is one of the gratest in my eyes, making me cry each time i see it and you did it justice amazingly well.
Thank you.
Thank you so much!
"I've never been a church-going man, and what I've seen of the field of battle has led me to question God's purpose"
Japan is really an amazing place. It gave me the peace and direction I’m looking for my whole life.
"... They are all perfect..."
A world without ideals is a world without a soul. "Bushido is Japan's greatest gift." Kanzo Uchimura
"The tiger's eyes are like my own, but he comes across a deep and troubled sea"
I love how the soundtrack of this movie is so beautiful you haven’t had to change it
"Tell me, how he died"
"I will tell you, how he lived"
One of the best quotes.
Also, Zurik 25M, you never fail to disappoint, amazing edits!
Thank you
Yep, and he actually defies an emperor on that thing.
It's a kind of definition in itself.
The peace this video gives me, I’d move to those mountains in a heart beat.

Love this movie. Easily my favorite of Tom Cruise’s performances.
This movie is such a gem. And so is this edit
Thank you so much!

What does it mean to be Samurai?
To devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles.
To seek the stillness of your mind.
To master the way of the sword.
A brilliant tribute as always Zurik, although this one hits different for me, this movie has my favourite soundtrack of Hans Zimmer's out all his pieces and this is my favorite Tom Cruise performance, your use of the original soundtrack throughout this edit really did this magnificent film justice.
Now I'm off to watch this Masterpiece again! 💚
Thank you so much! :)

that line, “perfect” makes me tear up everytime. one of my favorite movies of all time, it never seems to lose its grandeur and power. great work
A perfect tribute that brought tears to my eyes. Respect!
Thank you so much!
It still blows my mind that free living outlaws and honor bound rebel samurai were both wiped out around the same time. Both living how they believed was the proper way to live life to the fullest, pushed to near extinction to make way for the modern world of the time. It just messes with my head when I think about it
I watch this everyday for someone reason.... Everything about it .. just hits different
I don’t even know what to comment. Phenomenal work on an amazing movie my friend!
Thank you so much!
This movie always makes me cry, the story, the acting the music its all round a phenomenal film, Thank you Zurik

Ждал это видео и получил огромное удовольствие от просмотра! Прекрасно передана атмосфера того времени и ты показал всю прелесть этого фильма в пяти минутах! Отличное видео, бро.
Спасибо большое! :)
"Perfect... this is... perfect"
Your editing never ceases to amaze me. This is one of my favourite films, I am so delighted examining your videos, the way you structure them individually. And yet I see a common style throughout all of them. Like how a film director has a style with their filmmaking, such as Tim burton etc. You have your own unique style with your editing, one that is constantly being refined. This I find particularly intriguing in contrast with this videos message. Discipline, training, refining ones skills, pursuing perfection in the task. Things which you have done with your videos. I still can’t quite put my finger on how to name your style perfectly in one word. But “Completion” is definitely something that comes close in my opinion. The completion of a story, act, life, etc. If only oscars could be given to tribute editors.
Thank you so much for such a kind words!!
It means a lot to me, my friend. :)
"Perfect, they are all perfect" Love this film, thanks
Incredible work. Thank you for developing this.
I don't see anyone doing the role of Algren apart from Tom Cruise. Thank you Zurik for this beautiful work. Good to see you still delivering masterpieces after so many strikes in the channel. Please work with carefulness and safety cause we really don't wanna lose an artist like you. Thanks again.
