As you know Eric, the aviation industry has been an advocate for learning from mistakes and also sharing that information. Thanks for posting and adding the commentary...priceless! Hope this encourages other pilots to share their misadventures, not to be ashamed of them, but so others can learn as well. Cheers.
Great video Eric. We can all learn from videos like this. I have had 4 engine outs while flying PPG. All of them ended up safely, thank goodness. As someone else said, we can all learn from videos like this. Thank you for sharing. New subscriber.
Thanks for sharing this important lesson to remember. I've had 3 off LZ landings. I got one of them on video and it's on my youtube channel. "Broken Prop"
Ever watched a pelican land?.....it glides low with "ground effect" then when it spots its LZ it flaps its wings to reduce forward momentum. With a paraglider, much the same is achieved by "pumping" the brakes to almost stall, releasing, pumping...etc, to reduce forward momentum. Not recommended for novice pilots. Cheers.
I'm curious, that single wide trailer that you buzzed, are they friends of yours? How about the dude on the tractor that you probably scared the piss out of? I'm not trying to be insulting but isn't that pretty inconsiderate of you? I understand that you're having a good time but it shouldn't be at the expense of the people on the ground, that's a good way to turn people against PPGs. Again, I'm not being insulting or disrespectful.
Prefilter all fuel before going into your aircraft, period. kid. DO! a proper preflight check, which you failed to do? What, who said you're good enough to instruct? Maybe it,s the gear, lack of training in its upkeep?

Wait 'til you see the footage I have flying low, with an angle on my feet... It's nuts fast!
Hope you guys learn something from my slight misadventures.
Nice save, what does the flapping do?

LOL 666 views on a video about bad luck. Coincidence? I think not.
