I cant believe u recommed Corsair over this. They are notorious of horrible space bars even on their high end models but otherwise are excellent keyboards. I sent my k65 back because the Shift key and spacebar feel spongy making running difficult in Apex legends.
I fixed my spacebar just with some foam and tape mod lol
Listen homie, while I fully agree that Corsair doesn't have the best durability (I don't have one, but my friend does and his keyboard is absolutely totalled.) while this guy recommended Corsair over this, he also said that it was purely his opinion. Don't flame him too hard.
@@SpidermanAteMyDogu shouldnt have to
you dont even talk about how the OLED screen when paired with something like AIDA64 doubles as a pc status monitor, something you beloved corsair fanboism seemed to gloss over in your "review" of a product.
The criticism about the missing macro keys doesn't bother me, since any key can be a macro key thanks to the meta layer. Just assign a macro to a key under the meta bindings, then press meta (between right win and right ctrl) plus whatever key you assigned the macro to. I use this for work to insert frequently used SQL commands into my code.
As a bonus, you can save keypress macros to the onboard memory so you can use them on another computer without the software installed (like I do for work).
Ikr Who even uses macro keys.
I just ordered a Steelseries apex 7 because I've been having problems with my Corsair mk2 K70. The irony, lmao. I do love my Corsair but it just keeps disconnecting during games. I'll hang onto it and continue troubleshooting it but for now I want a reliable keyboard and this Steelseries one looks like it'll do the job! Thanks for the video.
Are you happy with your Apex 7? Im considering buying it
i have the corsair MK2 as well but not so impressed. i was surprised how big it looked on my desk (compared to my friend's apex, which looks more subtle).
not being low profile means it can also collect dust/dirt very easily. one of the hinges on my corsair wrist rest also broke after a few months of usage, that thing is really fragile. kinda regretted haha
i've had this kb for about 2 years. i program for work. regular keys like vowels and characters found in keywords are no longer working all the time, or double tap when they do. this kb is great, feels great, etc for the first year of use. the keys do not last 50 million presses or whatever bs they claim
lmao meanwhile my corsair k70 is going strong for 7 years now
@@figsy69because cherry MX is the best. I've had my qpad mk50 for 13 years now without a single issue, red cherry switches.
Had to start looking at other options when my Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum started double typing on the A and U key, going through the options the K95 platinum XT looked great... But I do not like spungy wrist rests and they did not offer Nordic layout for brown switches, the G513 from Logitech had the same "issue" of the spungy wrist rest, Steelseries do not tick all the boxes but I can bind macros to the numeral pad and their wrist rest is the best by far... I miss my K95 rgb 2014 edition, the best feeling keyboard I have ever had by far but I fucked up by buying red rather than brown switches and I wanted the tactile feedback hence why I went with the Apex 7 over the Pro og Corsairs k100, I just can't deal with linear switches.
i choose the steelseries apex over razer huntsman elite because of the high quality solid build and the fonts on the steelseries keycap legitable for my aging eyes
The steel series software isn’t anywhere near as inefficient or bloated as Razer’s too
Too late I bought
same
how is it? im interested
@@catastrophiccarrots5626 hey there I have it. It's a great keyboard in my opinion. I have the red switches and it sounds great and feels great. The rgb is fantastic and the customization is endless. The only complaint I have is the spacebar sound but it's all up to preference I suppose. I'm planning on lubing the switch and using the band aid trick
@@anotherbucket5859 Any LED fails or double presses yet?
Hows the keyboard now? Ive heard that the LEDs die for a lot of people after a year or two of use
This is a good keyboard but the keys are starting to stop working after a year. I'm starting to consider to get another keyboard because this one is not working as well as it used to.
instructions unclear, bought thirty for me and my entire familial lineage
These keys looks pretty cool .. Fonts are according to my taste ..
There is a lot issue with BLUE LED start to die after warranty expires, they just start dying like tiking bomb on me. 8 keys so far and counting. Don't buy Apex series, short lifespan LEDs for $$$
What keyboard should I buy
I chose the apex 7 over razer huntsman mini. Good choice or no?
Good choice
Had both keyboards, definitely a good choice
Yes, Razer is trash
Great review your channel is underrated
Lost an LED under a key after a couple of years, and I didn't like the linear switches but I think that's probably just my preference, really hard on my fingers over time. Getting a cheap hot swap now to avoid the lock in of a soldered board. I'm not sure if mine is the apex 7 but I'm pretty sure and I doubt they changed much since it looks exactly the same. The wrist rest was nice though as well as the mouse USB outlet. Always love a full keyboard.
Unless it's SMD you should be able to de and resolder fairly easily.
Gave me no information I was looking for.
Why do reviews never explain what it is like to game with these GAMING KEYBOARDS?
I love the keyboard but the flickering light drives me crazy. It's a common fault and Steel Series don't seem to want to fix it.
My steel apex 7 OLED doesn’t flicker I got it today
guys i wanna know which is better a apex 5 or a apex 7
Thanks for the review!
Bought this today. The tkl red switch version was 80 bucks on prime day. Wasnt gonna say no to that. My cooler master quickfire rapid 1st gen is 10 years old this year. And its time to put it out to pasture. Its been a workhorse for me for a long time. But...its time to let go.
So.... Where's the key sound test?
I spilt soda all over this and it still works years later lol
what song is at the beginning of intro ?
does anyone know if you can use the oled display as a numpad calculator like the VA104C keyboard?
Is there a new version of this i need numbers to rgb symbols also to rgb be able to group and idvidiual rgb assignments both group and signular ? need be able to get keycaps for them
What is the model color of the one in this video?
pretty sure the preset vapor
Is the keyboard loud tho
Its not as loud as the blue version but it has a good tone to it and very smooth to the type experience.
Loud enough that i enjoy the click but not loud enough to annoy someone in the same room
great vid
dont buy it, im really disappointed after buying this, blue keys button start stucking after 2 months. waste of money
Really? How
I didn’t get a wrist rest
its about 600 in my country
Can u change acuation point?
Idk but I’m planing to buy it tmrw
That's omnipoint switches (apex pro)
no only for apex pro
omg that flickering light, this should be on the spec sheet. nad reviews must test for this.
I assumed that is just a refresh rate mismatch between screen and camera, probably fine with eyes
I have it lol
Biased
My apex 7 has failing switches not even 12 months in - I probably wont be buying steelseries again.
Namely; ALT, NUM-0, P - - getting rather frustrating for a keyboard that cost over £100. Sometimes keys will double press too.
I think i'm going back to corsair after this flashy trash. Works okay for the first few weeks / months but doesn't last. No steelseries gear EVER lasts since the siberia v2.
that's really weird man -- i've had my apex 7 tkl for over 2 years now and it works perfectly fine
I've had mine since when they pretty much released it. Nothing wrong with it.
I've also got a steelseries wireless mouse which is also working fine. And I have arctis 7 headset which I've had for a few years now, don't know exactly how long.
But everything steelseries I own is working and not falling to pieces like some people say.
I think some people are just way to rough on their gear lol
Had 2 apex 7 keyboards so far. First one had for a year, LED failed, second one had F key fail out of box. Never treated them rough
@@ok-jv5df i heard LED fail is pretty often
@@Pirotehnika. I'm on my third board at this point the second one had a switch fail and another broken led
