I just got my LaserMatic Mk2, based on your review and comments. Have never used a laser engraver/cutter before, so I am pretty stoked to start this adventure. Thanks for everything you do.
Looks very nice. It is actually good to see that even experienced laser cutters get nervous with projects that are unpredictable. I am new to this so I get nervous every time I try out a new material. 😅
Thank you for your videos on the Roly. I would really like to see a 20w and 30w engraving comparison on 10w modes. Some small text would be interesting. I am about to order mine now, but I have not decided on bying the 20w or the 30w module.
Nice! I had a cutting board give me fits the other day. Had to use the eraser (planer) twice. Found out the file, which was text I typed out in LIGHTBURN just would not work right. Thought my D1 Pro lost it's mind. Change projects and everything was ok? Have a great day.
Glad you did not need to 'Hit The Bricks' looking for a new job!!!...Great Instructional on how to avert the Oh Sh--- 's....Love the content,,,c u Sunday...
What are you using in your machine? Is it the 20 Watt diode or 30-watt? I am looking at buying a laser engraver for mainly tumblers and slate coasters, wondering which one I should go for?
Hey do you or would you use a small dry paint brush to brush the soot away instead of compressed air. Or do you avoid doing that especially with leather.
@@beardedlocoswoodworks they are similar machines but in my opinion, the Roly is constructed better. It also comes in a 30 watt. For tumblers, the Roly is a winner
I don't have a "favorite" technically. I like using the right machine for the job. It depends on what the job is, which machine I chose to use. Figure out what you want to do with it and pick based on the required options. Budget also is a big consideration. The machine that I like for one job may not be my pick for the next. They all have strengths and weaknesses.
Have you reviewed the IKier K1 Pro: 24W ? I have 3 lasers already, the only diode i have is the xtool f1, it has good definition on slate but need to be able to do bigger pieces of slate, and that is what i am looking for for this laser, I was thinking 20 Watt, S1 20 W is too much money imo when you can get something like the Ikier k1 pro. Thoughts?
If cutting out a project, or engraving and I move the project but need to put back in the work area to fix or change something. how do I get everything back in the same position to start again
I responded to your email. If you didn’t jig or index it, it’s gonna be tough and risky. Assuming you saved the file, if you didn’t save the file, it will add another level of difficulty.

Learn lightburn and start out with easy projects. It won't take long. Enjoy
@jf5336 how’s the laser coming along? Thinking about picking up an MK2 myself.

I felt pretty good about getting acceptable results. I would have preferred having a tester but wasn’t an option. Thanks
Great job, thanks for sharing. Just received my MK2 and this adds to future projects.
Have fun
It looks fantastic! He should be giving you a raise! Greg
Not likely, thanks
Turned out just fine. Looks great.
I really wish the leather was lighter
Looks pretty good…I’m just getting started with the Laser Matic MK 2, 30w.
It is a fun machine. It works well.
you have done a wonderful job with the roly MK2 just keep it up
Thanks

I only have the 10-30 watt. Maybe LAHobby guy
Fantastic Clack. Well done
Thank you kindly

Thanks.. See ya then
great job, i would have been very nervous about screwing it up
I have messed up so much stuff you get used to it.
Can't possibly fire you for that; it looks really good. 👍
I got to keep my job…. Lol

I have the 30 watt. I like it
Looks great! Congrats!
Thanks
How about a shop tour se we can see the differeent machines you have and how they are setup for exhaust and so forth. Thank you.
I have most of that info but it is in numerous videos. May have to put something together.
Very nice !
Thank you very much!
Thanks for doing this with us. It was nice to see your process. What watt did you use 10w or 30w. How do you chose which option to use?
The 30, I only use the 10 if needing finer detail
Good to know thanks you for the info
Hey do you or would you use a small dry paint brush to brush the soot away instead of compressed air. Or do you avoid doing that especially with leather.
You could, I use compressed air. Less smearing
Hello🙌can you do a video cutting the leather? Thanks
Already have a few. Leather projects with laser engravers-xTool P2

Great video every time. So what machine do you recommend from this one, the genmitsu gen L8 or we create in the 20 watt thanks
It depends on how comfortable you are with lightburn. The L8 is probably as good as the original 20 watt wecreat.
@@TheClackShack what about between roli mk2 vs gen l8 ?

@@TheClackShackthank you sir. This helps a lot.

No, Steve has. The machine is very similar to the Atzer L24.
Hi clack would a brush work to remove the soot.
Steven uk
Maybe, typically I use compressed air to avoid smearing. If you don't have a compressor, maybe a can of the compressed air for cleaning,
It’s crazy how lasers differ in settings I run the new omtech 10w on leather every day @ 9000mm a min at 40power and it leaves a perfect engraving
And your not but 3hrs away from me lol, I got to red level Alabama often to shoot PRS tournaments
Yea, I have to go much faster with the 30 watt or turn the heat way. Down. I would have been happier doing a full speed test but couldn’t on this job.
If cutting out a project, or engraving and I move the project but need to put back in the work area to fix or change something. how do I get everything back in the same position to start again
