    I just got my LaserMatic Mk2, based on your review and comments. Have never used a laser engraver/cutter before, so I am pretty stoked to start this adventure. Thanks for everything you do.

      Learn lightburn and start out with easy projects. It won't take long. Enjoy

      @jf5336 how’s the laser coming along? Thinking about picking up an MK2 myself.

    Looks very nice. It is actually good to see that even experienced laser cutters get nervous with projects that are unpredictable. I am new to this so I get nervous every time I try out a new material. 😅

      I felt pretty good about getting acceptable results. I would have preferred having a tester but wasn’t an option. Thanks

    Thank you for your videos on the Roly. I would really like to see a 20w and 30w engraving comparison on 10w modes. Some small text would be interesting. I am about to order mine now, but I have not decided on bying the 20w or the 30w module.

    Nice! I had a cutting board give me fits the other day. Had to use the eraser (planer) twice. Found out the file, which was text I typed out in LIGHTBURN just would not work right. Thought my D1 Pro lost it's mind. Change projects and everything was ok? Have a great day.

    What are you using in your machine? Is it the 20 Watt diode or 30-watt? I am looking at buying a laser engraver for mainly tumblers and slate coasters, wondering which one I should go for?

    • @TheClackShack

      The 30, I only use the 10 if needing finer detail

    Hey do you or would you use a small dry paint brush to brush the soot away instead of compressed air. Or do you avoid doing that especially with leather.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  5 месяцев назад

      You could, I use compressed air. Less smearing

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  5 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on how comfortable you are with lightburn. The L8 is probably as good as the original 20 watt wecreat.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  5 месяцев назад

      @@beardedlocoswoodworks they are similar machines but in my opinion, the Roly is constructed better. It also comes in a 30 watt. For tumblers, the Roly is a winner

    Can i ask what your favorite diode laser is and what brand do you recommend ? i currently hace an olm3.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  9 месяцев назад

      I don't have a "favorite" technically. I like using the right machine for the job. It depends on what the job is, which machine I chose to use. Figure out what you want to do with it and pick based on the required options. Budget also is a big consideration. The machine that I like for one job may not be my pick for the next. They all have strengths and weaknesses.

    Have you reviewed the IKier K1 Pro: 24W ? I have 3 lasers already, the only diode i have is the xtool f1, it has good definition on slate but need to be able to do bigger pieces of slate,and that is what i am looking for for this laser, I was thinking 20 Watt, S1 20 W is too much money imo when you can get something like the Ikier k1 pro. Thoughts?

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  10 месяцев назад +1

      No, Steve has. The machine is very similar to the Atzer L24.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  10 месяцев назад +1

      Maybe, typically I use compressed air to avoid smearing. If you don't have a compressor, maybe a can of the compressed air for cleaning,

    It’s crazy how lasers differ in settings I run the new omtech 10w on leather every day @ 9000mm a min at 40power and it leaves a perfect engraving

      Yea, I have to go much faster with the 30 watt or turn the heat way. Down. I would have been happier doing a full speed test but couldn’t on this job.

      I responded to your email. If you didn’t jig or index it, it’s gonna be tough and risky. Assuming you saved the file, if you didn’t save the file, it will add another level of difficulty.
