Have come back to this on a 'daily practice routine' binge - and on my pan, it's so hard to find a place where a slap doesn't have tone! So.. though I was going to practice arpeggios today but am fine tuning slap spots :)
Wow Amy! You're not just giving us little tips.. this is a whole course! I'm also following David Kuckerman's 'Handpan Dojo' course where each lesson deserves a week of practice. so my practice time each day is going through the roof and will be for another year just keeping up with all this!! And I'm glad - thank you- you're presenting this on a Kurd, as does DK- couldn't imagine trying to follow with another scale xx
Really great practice again! Always close to wracking my brain, but awesome! And I like how you built it up from yesterday. Hope we end up with a complete song by the end of the month :)
Yeah, the hand swapping cross over is a bit of a dilly of a pickle. But I will catch it. You almost just have to feel it happen intuitively. Very cool. The different slap tones add so many different textures to the rhythm.
Yeah once you get to the point where you can switch off and feel the rhythm, you know you've cracked it! "Dilly of a pickle" is now my new favourite phrase haha. Thanks for that
When I slap my pan it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as yours or any of the other RUclips tutorials. I do only have a$ 500 pan right now so that's likely why, it's cheap. Meanwhile I'm just waiting for my Yatao DKURD 10 to get to me. My cheap pan is good for learning hand placement and all but you have to hit too hard to get a good sounding note.
It could be the pan, often $500 pans are thin and not great quality material (as it costs around that much or more just to make a decent pan). I also recommend making sure you're using a larger surface area of your finger, and slapping down into the pan more.

Thank you, it’s very good pattern👍🏼
Nice! I know what I'm doing today.
Have fun!
Oh dear, you (un)tie(?) knots in my hands, in my brain.
Yep! How I much need it, coordination. Thank you❤
Yeah a new tuto with Groove ❤❤ and hop a 👍🏻
This sounds nice!
The top view of the drum makes it easy to follow along. We type of equipment are you using to simultaneously capture both views.
Great lesson.
Great to follow along with.
You rock!
Seriously!

My head exploded just watching this, and I haven’t even tried it on the handpan yet

Like your way of decribing how to play :-)
Yeah, done!
The first part.
Everything.
🫣 Nearly everything.😅 Except of this 3‐3‐2 thing.🙈
Thank you, Amy! ❤
