if you read between lines, you can also notice that katya and sofia had something for each other. they were specially close. I don't really see it as a friendship or simple sorority, but something even more deep and full of passion. her story and dilema is parallel to goncharov’s, maybe she also fell in love with her. i would've loved to see their relationship’s development, alas, their story was far away from the spotlight.
