I may be a week late, but this inspires me. I know that I am an artist, but I write songs, carve, draw, sculpt. I guess you could call me a maker. But enough of me! Your art is amazing! It is the best I've seen actually. The way the lines on the picture you draw beforehand have a flow to them that is indescribable. You, are breathtaking.
Thank you so much! That means a lot. Yeah you know art is so interesting and so deep. And it is a very nice feeling to know that no matter how old you get there will always be new stuff do discover in the realm of art
Hi. I am Jung Ui Dong who is making an animal model in Korea. I've never seen your video before. It's so cool. I love the rhino I made this time. I am not good at English, so I am getting help from Google. But I wanted to tell you this. You're such a great person. I will make videos and make works just like you. I'll wait for the next video, too
Jonas, thank you for showing us your thinking, and the process you went through to achieve the beautiful result. So many RUclipsrs show us their work, but through editing we miss out. Mike Stinnett and your good self are so much more enjoyable to watch, as you both show us so much more, and therefore we enjoy more, and we find it most helpful to see the tools used, and in turn helps us see what can be achieved, maybe we will benefit with our own carvings and get better results, but one thing I would say Jonas if you do make a mistake keep on trying as I know you do. Cheers from John in England
Thank you so much John! Its always nice to hear that the format i am aiming at is working! I have decided to make an "relaxing" atmosphere in my videos from now on because i think it is much needed in the days we live right now Cheers from Norway
I'm an upcoming African wood Carver currently working on a table top rhino sculpture and this just gave me better insight on how to approach the Project.... Thank you🎉
Absolutely beautiful. Watching your videos along with a couple other channels has gotten me into wood carving a couple months ago and I enjoy it very much. Thank you
Beautiful sculpture and plinth. You should try out the foredom s/r pendant carving machine, foot pedal operated more power and control better than the dremel that you are using
Lol....go on Dr Jonas...lol😂😂 Jonas, fantastic work as usual....that male Rhinoceros has the biggest horn EVER! Definitely a leader of his herd. Keep up the good work. Thanks for posting! 💕
Thank you! Yeah i did some reasearch on rhinos. Some of the has a really cool curvature of the horn where it changes direction if you understand what i mean :)

Really a nice sculpture. You catch the motion and power of this animal. Maybe you could make a series of this? The big five of africa? Rhino, elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. Would look awesome.
I finally got a dremel accessory kit, and am looking forward to testing it out after so many months of procrastination. You are quite honestly one of the best wood carvers(this includes Bobby Dukes) I've seen who makes me think I can actually make something. (Particularly without burning a hole in my wallet). Now I just need to figure out where to get good carving wood, as the local hardware store people looked at me funny when I asked if they had birch.
Pfft, and the fact you're investing time to read the comments and answers to them. You really are considerate and appreciate your viewers. It has been noted and it is well appreciated :) Thank you, Jonas
Hello and thank you so much! It is a pretty funny answer to be honest. In my videos i use birch wood which traditionally is used as firewood here in Norway. So most of the birch you see in my videos was originally intended to be firewood The other types of wood is wood i have bought from etsy.com, Ebay.com and a Norwegian hardware store.
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft Ah. Its the same in Sweden. Mostly birch. I recently got into carving (with knife) and birch is super hard to work on, almost like oak! Ill try the dremel instead!

Great work Jonas. What a shame about the leg. I would of tried packing it out from the inside length and not cut off and replace, this way you would of still had the grain flowing correctly, still it came out really well. 👍🏼😊
