I turned on your video when I came home from work and was in the bathroom when I heard my name. Wait! What???? I replayed it and cant believe all the neat stuff I won!!!! Cant believe I missed an episode somehow! Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you!
OMG Nancy the Bamboo yarn from Yarn indulgences that you got.. GORGEOUS! So so good to catch up with you my friend! I absolutely loved seeing Archie running in the forest!! Loved all your projects and your zweig is yuuuumy! Cheers my friend to a knitty 2024!! 🥰🥰
Haha! I felt the same way when I saw your Blueberry Preserve...drool 😂 It's a good thing Archie is cute because he is such a little bugger 🤓 See you soon!!!
Another informative episode! I like the way you use 2 sweater patterns to get the fit you want. Also like to hear how you move stitches from back to front. I’ve been doing that too. And thanks for the idea of looking up how to increase/decrease certain number of stitches to end up with the correct number needed.
Thank you for keeping me company while I knit. A charming episode as usual. For fingerless mitts I always drop down a needle size (or two depending on yarn weight) after the thumb gusset to tighten up over the fingers. It’s not really noticeable and seems to help.
Your crocheted blanket is beautiful, and it's always nice to use up some yarn from the stash. Thank you so much for the episode! 😄 I enjoyed hearing about your projects and yarns. 🧶😊
It's so nice to see you again! I got used to Vlogmas and have missed you! All of your projects look amazing. I still can't wrap my head around afterthought heels and toes. Cutting yarn... YIKES! Sam's wrap turned out fantastic. I love the colors for your new sweater, and your new Swiss dot socks look so cheerful. HAPPY KNITTING! 🧶❤️🧶❤️
That is so very lovely of you to say❣️❣️ Just cutting one little thread...if I think about it, I'll record a little video of doing it when I separate the tube into 2 socks 🤓 I am going to write a note to myself right now!!!
Thank you for another fun podcast. I love seeing all of the projects, especially the lovely socks.Seeing Archie makes me miss my Springers so much. He’s beautiful. Happy New Year!
Hi Nancy. Don't bank on the hot flushes being gone, I'm 81and still have one or two a week, sorry!!!!!!!,.Love your podcasts, keep up the good work. 🥰🥰
I enjoyed watching over a few days, which was a treat! Your handspun is so gorgeous. The crocheted blanket is lovely and sent me to watch the tutorials you mentioned. I'm tucking them away for another day. Fiber Fun is limited these days with tending our kitten. Molly just went over the 1.5 pound mark yesterday. Small size doesn't mean she can't accomplish yarn shenanigans!
I loved getting caught up with you again! So glad your hot flashes have receded--at least for the time being! Your daughter's sweater/shawl is lovely!! How fun to see your Advent blanket. I love getting the sets, and then never am quite sure what to do with them. I did make Ambah O'Brien's Euphorbia Wrap with one set. I'm making a cowl with a second set. And, I plan to make Ambah O'Brien's Twist Cardigan with a third set. Loved seeing Archie run around the woods a the end of the podcast!!! See you soon!
I know...I love the yarn dyer advents, but I feel like they are wasted in a blanket and should do more with them. Thanks for spending your Saturday night with me. I'm sipping on a red wine chatting in comments and working on the toe of my Christmas Eve Cast On...I'll be blocking tomorrow 🥳 Ambah has some amazing patterns for minis
I so enjoyed this first episode from you in 2024 even though I am watching it on Feb. 21! I’m having a “Kint Sip Happy Day” catching up on the episodes I have missed so far this year. i watch one episode and then do a little chore around the house, one episode, a small chore, one episode, and another chore. (If only I could have a voice controlled autamatic chore house.) Off to get dinner started and I’ll be back. Salam wa sa’aadah
Thanks for keeping me company on Saturday evening. Great podcast. Love your Cowl and sweater you’re wearing. Thanks again Nancy. Hopefully meet you at Knit City Toronto in May.
what a lovely chatty session - I so loved you Vlogmas and am very pleased that you will do it again. Take care and I look forward to your next update 🙂
Nancy, I love your Zweig color way! So pretty! Welcome back after Vkogmas! Enjoyed it immensely! Glad to hear I’m not the only one whose diet rather goes off the rails for the holidays and then gets back in line in January. 😂
Hey Nancy- a tip for your mom and anybody else with arthritis in hands. Got some cream from pharmacopeia ( marijuana) c THC cream in a jar amazing relief in hands
I tell you - that Laia pattern is super helpful. I knit the sweater last year out of handspun and it’s lovely. Now I’m knitting another, but instead of the lace, I am striping in mini skeins. I also started a Jingle sweater and used the neckline from the Laia because I liked it better. Happy Knitting!
Hi Nancy. I enjoyed your podcast and that yarn from Yarn Indulgence is to die for. I’m looking forward to seeing what pattern you choose to knit with it.
Such a treat to see your latest podcast. The knitting weekend sounds amazing. What fun you will all have... I am looking forward to seeing the progress on your Zweig, one of my favourite knits. Thank you for sharing your knits etc with us x
It's a pleasure to come and have a chat about all the yarny goodness 🧶🥰 Thanks for saying hello❣️ We are really looking forward to the weekend. What's better than knitting with friends ?!?!
Hi, Nancy. I got so many great tips from this episode. I plan to use your Smoke Gets in Your Eyes pattern for a Woolens and Nosh self-striping skein I have. Also, I’m going to try moving my sleeves back on my next pullover, as you so clearly described. And I’ve noted your idea for combining two patterns as you did with the Zweig and Laia. You give me courage to try new things!
Yay Lisa❣️❣️ It's the best thing about knitting together either in person or online...picking up knowledge. I've grabbed all of these nuggets from other knitters 🧶🧶 I'll keep an eye out on Ravelry for your Woolens and Nosh socks 🧦 Cheers!
Happy New Year Nancy! Thank you for the shoutout. Your Swiss Dot Christmas Eve cast on socks are as stunning as I expected. I love your idea about alternating heel placement to get both "seams" into the middle I've thought of that so many times but then never bothered. Next time I will.
I am in awe of your spinning, I have been spinning for a few years now and have still not managed a suitable 3ply sock yarn. Your Zelig sweater looks gorgeous and such a good idea about using a yolk from another pattern. Really enjoyed your vlogmas, it was great. ❤
I do love coming to have a chat 💕 I love to spin my singles fine, so a sock yarn, thankfully, is achievable for me. It also very much depends on the fibre...more Rustic fibres don't draft as smoothly for me, but something with bamboo, silk or Nylon just seem to glide through my fingers. I'm not sure if you've tried any blends with 20-25% of those 3, but that might help 🤔
Nancy Happy New Year to you and your husband , lovely content and finished knitting, crochet and spinning well done . I’ve been crocheting Christmas baubles with scraps and started knitting a sweater for my husband last night. See you in 3 weeks . Happy crafting ❤
I’m a newish watcher, first full podcast though I watched vlogmas and loved it. I enjoy your relaxed style. Maybe too personal but I really like your hair.
Nancy, I always enjoy spending time with you- I feel like you are one of my knitting buddies even though you have no idea who I am 😆. I loved your vlogmas - every few days was perfect!
Your crochet blanket turned out great.... the colors go so well together! I especially like your new colorwork socks... the colors are so gentle together!!
Happy New Year! Love your color work socks!! They came out beautiful!! You are such a productive sock knitter. I am always amazed at how many socks you get done! Your blanket came out beautiful also. Very inspirational!
To you as well 🥳🥳 Socks are my desert island knit....If I could only knit one thing for the rest of my life, it would be socks 🧦 What's your favourite?
I would say garments even though they take a long time. That being said, I do usually have a sock project on the go. I have knitted a few of your patterns which I enjoyed.@@knitsiphappy
Your colourwork socks are beautiful. I just finished the ChristmasSoxx 2023 pattern - using the Exposure sock pattern for the gusset afterthought heel (thanks to your recommendation). This is an addictive and easy colourwork sock pattern. The other great colourwork sock patterns with a great fit are the patterns from Kate Davies Bluestockings collection.
Happy New Year Nancy. Have just finished knitting two baby cardigans for a friend's grandchild (due any day). Tonight I've cast on your Hexie Diamond socks using Circus Tonic Jubilee sock colour Heritage Rose ... they are going to be soooo pretty. I've also done a swatch tonight for Petit Jardin by Anne B Hanssen Design. Swatch now drying. Looking forward to seeing your makes for 2024 x
I so appreciate your explanation of how you move your stitches from back to front. I’ve had issues with yoked sweaters and have attempted to simply decrease stitches through the body, with mixed results. I’ll be applying your technique in the future! Happy new year!
Happy New Year to you as well🎉 Haha...nice to know I'm not alone, but it's still important for me to do it to understand and be in control of the finances. So I suck it up and complain about it 😂😂
Happy New Year Nancy, I loved hearing the podcast origination story, very cool. I have my first skein of self striping yarn to cast on once I finish my current socks and will definitely look at that pattern. Swiss Dot shorties will be the next sock cast on for 2024. Appreciate the detail on your afterthought heels. 🧶Cher
Wow, all the cool stuff! Your blanket worked up great, I like the edging you chose. Your colorwork socks are gorgeous__no matter what colors or fibers, your handspun is always beautiful! 💖 The socks with the 'wrapped nubs' and pink stripes are cute. Nancy, I have a question re: handspun__would you mind explaining the when, how and 'where' you 'whack' the yarn? I'm interested in learning spinning on a spindle, however, I live in an upstairs apartment with no available outdoor space and was wondering how I might modify such a process. 😛 On another note, I'm with you on the bookkeeping subject__at least 'you' pretty much know what's going on there! 😛 OMG__Archie sure had fun romping through the woods! 🐾🐕 Thanks for another great episode to start the new year off! Love, Light, and Knitty Blessings. 🙏😇✨💫🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌😺
Thanks for being here again Debra❣️ That's it for the bookkeeping 🤓 Archie was loving his best life 🤣 I don't normally like an overarm motion. I put my 2 hands on the inner ends of the wet skein, outside if I can and if not, in my laundry room or bathroom and just pull my arms out at speed several times to get the yarn to pull tight. That straightens out the fibres. I hope that helps 💕
😂just about jumped out of my chair when I heard my name! Funny thing though, my Mum is the only one that calls me Diane. I'm Di to everyone else except the kids at school call me Mrs or Miss Di. I'll persevere withe the bleep 9" circs! Love the blue/ teal yarn and I'm quite happy to take itvkff your hands if you decide its not in your colour house. Thanks for the chat. See you on FB or Insta until next time gorgeous ❤🎉
Well...now I will call you Di❣️ Because I certainly don't want you to feel like you're in trouble 😂 You know that blue teal is totally my jam 🤓 I'll definitely "see" you around 💕
Beautiful projects as always! Great job keeping up with your advent knitting- I did not do as well this year. Oh well! Happy new year and thank you for sharing all your makes 😊
Happy New Year! Loved the Swiss dot socks, your colour ways are stunning. I enjoyed watching all the vlogmas and look forward to another year of podcasts. I am planning on going to Knit city Toronto , so I may actually get to meet you in person!
Happy Nee Year, Nancy! Thank you for sharing the tips on the Zweig, I would love to make it (and have the yarn); but every time I look at the pattern I see the wide open neck and think maybe it’s not for me. Feeling hopeful now!
Hi Nancy - I am getting to this video late...busy time for me here and I reduced my screen time. I am loving your knits and yarns for future projects too. The best news I heard was about you coming to Knit City Toronto, fingers crossed I get to meet you. I will be there the Saturday and Sunday.:)
Hi 👋 That'll be great❣️❣️ I'll be easy to find... I'll be at Yarn Indulgences both during the day and somewhere drinking wine and knitting in the evening 😂 Please come and say hello ❣️
I love knitting socks on 9" circulars and have eversince I started knitting socks. Most probably because I hate double pointed needles. I cannot get my head around them. I use circulars for all my knitting now.
Happy New Year Nancy! I really enjoyed your Vlogmas videos and it's wonderful seeing you so soon. Thank you for sharing your modifications on your Zweig sweater. I want to knit is and it is very helpful to hear the feedback from your experience.
Great podcast! It's very interesting about the Caitlin Hunter yokes, I will have to follow that as I find that I struggle with fit on circular yoke sweaters (think it's my shoulders...) and notice it with CH's patterns, though I love them! I have some Isabell Kraemer patterns so maybe I will take a look there, though I am not as savvy as you for making adjustments to patterns. It's always worth a try, right? My family loved the lemon curd so thank you again for sharing your recipes during Vlogmas! Cheers, Nancy.
Thanks for hanging out on a Saturday night Jessica❣️ I do love coming for a chat 🤓 Apparently it's the rapid increase in less rounds that causes the fit issues. Definitely give the Isabell Kraemer patterns a go. We still have a bit of lemon curd in the fridge which is hard to believe 🍋🍋
Happy New Year. Great Podcast Nancy. How did you like knitting with the Waki Saki yarn? I love that colorway and found it for 1/2 price. I ordered 2 different skein colors. Oh, and your Vlogmas was great. I hope you do it again. Happy Knitting.
Happy New Year to you as well 🎉 I'm enjoying the Waki Sacki a lot. It feels smoother than Regia and Opal, but still sturdy. Hopefully it wears well. Thanks for spending some time with me and catching Vlogmas 💕
Love watching your podcasts , I loved your Vlogmas as well this year ❤ , I have to say im so jealous of all your lovely knitted socks , I do think I might have to teach myself to knit some , in your opinion would it be easier to start with DK socks or just jump straight in with sock yarn ??? I usually knit with circular needles as well (even when knitting straight ) so I was wondering to either go with Magic loop or 9inch circular ??? Any advice would be super thank you
Thank you for hanging out with me again 💕 You know I love knitting socks, so I would recommend it. There are so many good tutorials on RUclips with step by steps to show the different parts. I went straight into sock yarn when i picked knittkng up again. If you're used to knitting with 9", they are a great option, but magic loop is good as well because you can divide the sock into front and back, which helps with heel placement. Hope that helps and feel free to give me a poke if you have any questions 🤓
I can’t believe it didn’t occur to me to google for an increase distribution calculator…. instead my husband (who is maths-minded and enjoys this kind of stuff) spent ages designing a program in Excel that does the same thing for me 🤦🏻♀️ oops! Haha 😅
I turned on your video when I came home from work and was in the bathroom when I heard my name. Wait! What???? I replayed it and cant believe all the neat stuff I won!!!! Cant believe I missed an episode somehow! Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you!
I was so glad to hear from you Gail 🥳 I forgot to bring your parcel to the post office today...sigh! I'll get it out to you this week❣️
@@knitsiphappy No worries! I will be pleased as punch to receive it no matter when it arrives!!!!

That sounds lovely 💕💕 It's a pleasure to come and have a chat❣️

Thanks Joanie 💕 They are all things that I learned from other knitters...it's the joy of sharing in knit groups or on RUclips like this 🥰
Thank you for keeping me company while I knit. A charming episode as usual.
For fingerless mitts I always drop down a needle size (or two depending on yarn weight) after the thumb gusset to tighten up over the fingers. It’s not really noticeable and seems to help.

Bahaha!!! Prepare yourself! I finished the pair and started the 2nd pair 🤪😎
Oh my! Just watching your podcast because I am behind to hear I won! Yay. I will email you with my details😊
Woo hoo Helen❣️❣️ I'm so glad you caught up and I got your email 📧
Thanks for a great podcast. Happy New Year from New Zealand
I love coming to have a chat❣️ All the best in 2024 🎉
Wow, all the cool stuff!
On another note, I'm with you on the bookkeeping subject__at least 'you' pretty much know what's going on there! 😛
OMG__Archie sure had fun romping through the woods! 🐾🐕
Thanks for another great episode to start the new year off!
Love, Light, and Knitty Blessings. 🙏😇✨💫🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌😺
Thanks for being here again Debra❣️ That's it for the bookkeeping 🤓 Archie was loving his best life 🤣
I don't normally like an overarm motion. I put my 2 hands on the inner ends of the wet skein, outside if I can and if not, in my laundry room or bathroom and just pull my arms out at speed several times to get the yarn to pull tight. That straightens out the fibres. I hope that helps 💕
Yay a DK sock design! Me!!!! 😁
Lol Marie 😂 I knew you'd be up for it 🧦

Damn thought some yarn was coming my way😢
@dianekaye6533 OH well that's a bit of a let down 😑
Beautiful projects as always! Great job keeping up with your advent knitting- I did not do as well this year. Oh well! Happy new year and thank you for sharing all your makes 😊
Thanks Dehnel❣️ I don't have teenagers to wrangle 🤓 My empty nest definitely allows me more knitting time.
Happy New Year! Loved the Swiss dot socks, your colour ways are stunning. I enjoyed watching all the vlogmas and look forward to another year of podcasts. I am planning on going to Knit city Toronto , so I may actually get to meet you in person!
Yay!!! That would be great to see you in Toronto. Thanks for cheering me on 🤓🥳💕
Happy Nee Year, Nancy!
Thank you for sharing the tips on the Zweig, I would love to make it (and have the yarn); but every time I look at the pattern I see the wide open neck and think maybe it’s not for me. Feeling hopeful now!
Thanks for hanging out with me Carolyn 💕 I think the combination of patterns is going to give me the sweater that I want 🤓
Love your podcast 😊
That's lovely of you to say Barbara ❣️ Thanks for being here 🥰
Hi Nancy - I am getting to this video late...busy time for me here and I reduced my screen time.
@@knitsiphappy Woohoo!! That will be easy to find you. So yes, I will come visit with you.
It does make life easier when I'm in the same place all day 😎
Happy New Year!! I love that snowman project bag!! I purchased one of her Grinch fabric ones.
Happy 2024 Carla 🥳🎉 I do love Chris' bags❣️
I love knitting socks on 9" circulars and have eversince I started knitting socks. Most probably because I hate double pointed needles. I cannot get my head around them. I use circulars for all my knitting now.
Agreed!! I learned to knit socks on DPN’s and there was no turning back when i discovered magic loop and 9". Happy knitting Sheila 🧶
Happy New Year Nancy! I really enjoyed your Vlogmas videos and it's wonderful seeing you so soon. Thank you for sharing your modifications on your Zweig sweater. I want to knit is and it is very helpful to hear the feedback from your experience.
Happy 2024 🥳 Thanks so much for your kind words 🥰 There will be lots more Zweig talk coming up 🤓
Thanks for a great podcast. You are so interesting and inspiring x
Thank you for spending some time with me Jacky 🥰 I love coming and talking all things yarn 🧶
Great podcast!! I'm working on a pair of Turtle Purl socks in the allsorts colours got it for Christmas hoping to get a pair of shorties also.
Thanks for spending your Saturday night with me June ❣️ I really love the Turtlepurl stripes...always a great pair of socks 🧦
I am in Dieppe, would be very interested in a knitting workshop
Hi Alaina...are you on Instagram? I can add you to the chat group to see the details, if you like
Happy new year Nancy! 🎉😊 Your advent blanket turned out beautifully.
To you too Karen 🎉 It was a fun project and I enjoyed the joining as much as making the squares💕
Нi Nancy!🎉😊 Happy new year.❤
To you as well 🥳 I wish you lots of crafty time in 2024❣️
Thank you ,you too😘❤️🥰
Great podcast!
Haha 😅
Hahaha ❣️ Well at least he feels like he's helping and being useful 🤓 I think my friend Deborah told me about it 🤔
@@knitsiphappy hahaha, true!
