Yes!!! Finally you played the game! I love 40k but haven't played it in years. I love Legion for the simplicity of play, and of course Star Wars!

Yeah the 40K rules set is a total mess right now. Way more complicated and bloated than it needs to be.
@@chrish1645 Won't even bother getting into 40K. They're so out of control with the Codex creep constantly. I'm getting the Crime Syndicate the moment it drops and going all in on Legion. Already picked up Fett, Bossk and Cad.
@@katarhall3047 NIce, my group has been doing more AoS and Bloodbowl. Also just doing one off boardgames. Everyone says legion is really good. I'm not a huge Starwars fan so unfortunately I'm not super excited by the miniatures. Still the rules for it and MCP do seem pretty darn legit...

There are some cheaper options like battle tech, or using proxies. But I agree it’s hard to find people to play with sometimes

@@zoso1up Battle tech is miniature battle game from Catalyst Games based on the Battle tech universe. You can play it in different formats and degrees of difficulty going from a couple of mechs a side to several lances (groups of mechs). You can find several good you tube clips with explanation.
Proxies is using different models (mostly cheaper) from other companies or 3D printed then the models of the game it self.
Legion does have battle force sets coming out that gives you an army for a pretty good price. As for finding players sorry you have that issue :( I've been there before.

Oh my god this is amazing, been playing legion for about 8 months now with a friend of mine and we’re still trying out different armies and combinations of objectives, etc. i really love this game and i love watching you guys have fun with it, would love to see it more in the future!

When I saw the thumbnail and title I couldn't see it all and I honestly didn't realize it was AJ, I thought it was Crabbok or one of the other RUclipsrs I watch that makes Legion videos.
I’m not a table top guy but this game looks sweet. I like how the hero models look and I like how you almost get a TCG vibe with the card upgrades.

I started making my own Star Wars board game made of Lego about 2-3 years ago, and I have never seen Legion before until now. Seeing I wasn't the first one to come up with a Star Wars/40K board game and that it wasn't an original idea devastates me. But Legion looks very good!

Star Wars Legion was the game that got me into wargaming miniatures so I enjoyed watching AngryJoe play Legion and hope to see more Legion battle reports in the future.
I'm glad I played Legion before getting into 40K because Legion is simpler and more streamlined, and the cards make it easier to remember what your characters and units can do instead of relying on WH's codexes, datacards and Chapter Approved books. However, the 40K community is so much larger and well-established, with official tournaments being held every week, whereas Legion's Organized Play events are infrequent -- or non-existent in my locale (especially after the pandemic).
Regardless, I love playing Legion because I've been a Star Wars fan since childhood and it's wonderful wish fulfillment to play as my favourite heroes AND villains, and recreate battles from the SW saga.
Legends Galactic Empire is stronger than Imperium of Man.
@@spiffygonzales5160 As a Star Wars fan, I'd like to believe that... but the Imperium has been the dominant faction in the galaxy for over 10,000 years and has been simultaneously fighting countless wars against Chaos and Xeno threats.
The Galactic Empire under Emperor Palpatine only lasted 25 years and failed to defeat a tiny Rebel force.
The two Sith Lords in charge were crazy powerful, but the Empire was a glass tiger that shattered after those two Sith Lords killed each other -- which is what Sith do. Sith Empires are inherently unstable and prone to self-destruction.
Whereas the Imperium of Man has endured the "death" of its Emperor for 10 millennia. It may not be any fun to live in the 40K galaxy, but you gotta respect the resilience of the Imperium of Man.

Actually in legends the Empire lasted for hundreds of years after Palpatine died and only really died out when they agreed to join the New Republic.
Also gotta remember, the Empire has 70.5 million planets while the Imperium has 1 million. Thrawns one single fleet contained 25K star destroyers, which would be considered very large in 40K, and that was a fleet given to an alien for a campaign in the outer rim. The Galactic Empire has around 480 quadrillion sentients while the Imperium of Man has around 40 quadrillion (it's my own estimates, but it's based on the lore and I'll gladly explain the math if you want).
Plus the Imperium has nothing like a death star, and it only takes 2 years to build one and a half of them.
Two weeks to cross the Galaxy vs somewhere between negative a thousand and positive one million years. One outdated battleship laying waste to an ecumanopolis over the span of a couple days vs several battleships required to do the same to a Forrest world.
Heck, what would the Imperium honestly do if the Empire just decided to restart a few hundred trillion CIS droids and send them at them, much less the entire Imperial army?
@@spiffygonzales5160 The Imperial Remnant isn't the Galactic Empire anymore than the First Order was. And the Fel Empire wasn't nearly as powerful as Palpatine's Galactic Empire.
Thrawn did NOT have 25,000 star destroyers. According to Legends, the Galactic Empire had a total of 25,000 star destroyers at the height of its power. Thrawn's fleet only had FIVE Imperial Star Destroyers: Chimaera, Death's Head, Judicator, Inexorable, and Nemesis. The first two novels in Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy were focused on Thrawn acquiring more warships because he had so few, and the 179 Dreadnaughts he acquired from the Katana Fleet were pivotal in strengthening Thrawn's fleet.
I don't know where you got that 25,000 Star Destroyers figure for Thrawn's fleet, unless it's from the "new Thrawn" novels published by Disney, which are NOT part of Legends.
The Imperium doesn't need a Death Star. The Exterminatus protocol is more than sufficient for destroying a planet. The Death Star was a colossal boondoggle. Thrawn opposed the Death Star project because he recognized the weakness in concentrating the Empire's resources as a single target.
As I said, the Galactic Empire was a glass tiger that shattered under pressure from a ragtag Rebel force. Most of the Empire's leadership was incompetent, corrupt, and self-serving. The Empire's numerous localized military campaigns were wars of attrition, as depicted in Solo. Only battles spearheaded by Vader were successful. Again, the concentration of the Empire's power was its Achilles Heel.
If the Empire went up against the battle-hardened forces of the Imperium of Man, particularly the Space Marines, they'd be routed.
It's well-established that the Jedi and Sith were pivotal in all of the wars in the Star Wars galaxy, whereas the Imperium of Man was capable of fighting countless simultaneous wars against equally strong opponents for over 10,000 years. As I said, the resiliency of the Imperium is its greatest strength. Whereas the Empire's regimes rarely last one generation.
Can't wait to see the Emperor Palps himself in action. I bet he has some wicked aoe lightning attacks

Super fun to watch! I think it’s a little unfair to dock points for a miniatures game requiring assembly and painting since in some ways that’s a draw of this type of game and an inherent aspect of it. Hope to continue to see other games demoed!

I've been playing this game since release and it's sooooo much better than the current 40k ruleset. Better priced with a lower cost for entry too.
I'm a painter so I personally wouldn't of dropped points because of assembly and painting as that's half of the hobby.

NOt bad. Would have loved to see such a thing come out 20 years ago though.
No insults, just constructive criticism. 1st: Love the setup. Bringing the board games to the main channel would get you more views as well, but I'm not sure if that is the content you wish to feature on this one.
2nd: Maybe set the cameras to manual focus to help with the blurriness?

It is not fair they are giving lower points because it is not prebuild or pre-painted, this is inherent of wargames, that is also why they call it a hobby.
If companies would start doing that the price would even by higher and you have less customization.
Also you don't need to paint it if you don't want to, I have seen people play with unpainted mini's and I have seen them having more fun than what I saw here.
