Trails of Cold Steel III + IV in 7 Minutes

A super quick high level overview of the events that happened in Erebonia during Cold Steel 3 and 4 of the Kiseki series. This is to help refresh the memories of fans who have played the games previously but have forgotten what happened to ready them for the release of Trails into Reverie without having to go through hours of video lore or the minefield that is the kiseki wiki. A lot of specific details are left out to keep the video brief.

I can do better!!!!! trails of cold steel 1 in one sec: someone dies, civil war explodes. That's the entire plot everything else is feeding cats, fixing light bulbs and so on.... I have to say 3 is much better, the only problem being u have to play 1 (and 2 which is still such a drag!). Totally overrated series but for some reason I still played it so...

I mean, plot is not only "epic moment". The goal of Cold Steel 1 is to familiarize the player in the Erebonia country (lore, city, etc). If you want to review the plot, than you have to look it at a whole (Cold Steel 1-4). Also the plot is separate in two part. Cold Steel 1&2 (Erebonia part 1), Cold Steel 3&4 (Erebonia part 2).

@@Terranigma23 yes I get it and no because the responsibility of a writer is to make the plot eventful and engaging. Quite frankly I like trails and I finished the first 2 games on vita and almost finished the 3rd but the writing is impossible to defend: it's the triumph of filler and secondary quests are incredibly cheap and lazy (I was referring to the light bulbs right?), purely there to make it longer because JRPGs have to be loooong for some incomprehensible convention. Now there are games that have to set the scene as well but manage to do it using a much more inventive and interesting narrative, tricks, sub stories... The most glaring example? Witcher 3. Now what Trails has on Witcher 3 is that Trail's main plot is far more interesting than the W3's main plot. In W3 you have a directional problem - typical of open worlds - and subplots are infinitely more well done than the main one. This is also true of the witcher's books after all. If Falcom, instead of planning 4 games in the arc, made 1 getting rid of the fillers and focusing on the story they could have created a masterpiece in my opinion but I played it because I am a JRPG guy.. I never felt I could suggest it to anyone else.

​@@n3r0n3we talk about the irony of you complaining about filler side quests and writing thats too long while writing a whole novel yourself
