@@synthsamuraiproductions Yep. It sure sounded close. He might have tweaked it a little, but that springy sound is through the song. It’s also heard in Rendezvous Part 4 (very similar “springy” sound).
Behringer nowadays not just a company. More like electronic music history saviours! While others "not chasing ghosts", Uli just emanates them spirits of olden times into reality.
Thank you so much for these videos! I just love seeing what potential product reincarnations our man Uli is considering, alongside clips of the originals. This Mini Pops drum box could be a lot of fun! 🎉
SAMURAAAIII!!! This sounds pretty cool. I will definitely collect all of the Behringer drum machines. I believe this will end up in the RD-6 / TD-3 enclosure. I am hoping they add individual outputs with midi and cv. That will be solid as a selling point.
I don’t know why but since Xmas I’ve been watching Korg Minipops videos. I think Behringer is missing a trick, just make a “standard” drum machine with a short one-shot sample memory then sell sample drum cards (like a old skool Roland R-8) it’s the reason I love my TR-8s! All my favourite drum machines in one box.
This is so crazy to me wow idk u think they’ll keep the 606 form factor I hope they do I love it not too small not a huge footprint the pro 16 is insane I’m upset that I didn’t win the lottery for the ms 5 shoulda preordered sooner I missed it by two days uhhhh
Man, I'm seriously burning through my budget right now, just grabbed Hermod+ and that's gonna slow me down for a while but damned if some of these bits of gear don't leave me GASing in some kinda bad way! Pair up that Mini Pops with a Solina, and add in a VCS3 and 2600 for extra fun? Yes, please! Jarre-esque all day long! Might have to go listen to Oxygene again now... (Oh, and if any of y'all are thinking about sequencers for your eurorack rig, Hermod+ is AWESOME! I'll be throwing some shorts up this weekend.)
For how much far lesser companies charge for shit, Honda's pricing on the Motocompacto is a throwback from 1981! Something for synth-makers to consider.
The trouble with Behringer clones is that they often save money by making them smaller than the original. Can be difficult to use those knobs, switches amd buttons.
Which ones do you have? The monopoly is a beast. I got the model d neutron and wasp and all really great sound and quality. I find the roland boutiques have unplayable knobs
Man, I have been holding off on buying a drum machine, hoping Behringer would release any of the ones they promised. I would GAS anytime for a Behringer drum box but they are not releasing them yet. Tough. I now have gas retention syndrome and it is painful. 😢
My, admittedly uninformed, opinion is that designing something from scratch is as difficult as recreating something that already existed in the past, for the discerning ears of the fans and critics. Shoehorning existing chips into the circuitry, to behave and sound exactly like old, discontinued chips is not easy. While I personally have little interest in the Mini Pops 7 (albeit, the JMJ vibe does feel awesome), the Linn Drum clone looks like a purchase to me. And, I already have the great Roland TR-8s drum machine. I’d think these both would complement each other rather well. The new firmware upgrade of the TR-8s includes the CR-78 sounds so that scratches the Mini-Pops itch.
It is already a pretty annoying display of YT narcissism that everyone has to have their face full frontal in every video when they are talking, but this is getting rediculous 😂
There are free sample of all of these old drum machines online. Unless you really love the built in patterns, and don’t know how to program, I don’t see any reason to own the originals or a clone. You can just make a kit in an MPC and do everything the original machine could do and much more. Am I missing something?
I was interested in this device but only lasted 2 mins into your video. Not because you managed to mispronounce both Jean Michel Jarre *and* Aphex Twin, but because the background musak was so profoundly irritating. Luckily, these are very simple problems to fix - do better research and don't use background musak.
I think you have mistaken my glorious comments section for a yelp review 😂 cheers for watching 2 mins and missing the best part. Attention span test. D-.
Uli should be canonized as the patron saint of synth-heads. Thanks to him, the working man can own a decent setup.
Hahhaha yes! This is agree with. All
Hail!! Lord Uli!!! His head shall be mounted upon synth rushmore with the greats when it has been written.
Here here
Can’t wait for the LMDrum! Also, that first rhythm you played back from the mini pops is pretty much what JMJ used on Oxygen Part 4
For real? Thats awesome JMJ is the man!

Thanks for the smile and this very amused (and amusing) tone in your voice. Keep the energy!

My pleasure just love synths and talking about them glad you are enjoying it
It's a beautiful thing! I adore these old school bossa-nova and samba beats so much. Let's Goooo!!!
Lets goooo babaaaay
An RD-K, with tweakable minipops sounds would indeed be awesome. I'd get that. I LOVE that quijada and guiro sounds.
Its sounds sweet man gotta say
Thanks for replaying the part so we can see how it works, looks like preset grooves you turn on and off and bring in and out with the faders
Sounds pretty cool
I want a linn drum clone so bad - for less than $200. Cmon Behringer, you can do it 😅
Lets go Uli!!!!!
@group-music we are hardware junkies playa. We want all the synths!
That was pretty cool very interesting
Im more pumped for the RD-78

I think they gonna do the Mega Pops. Combine all tbe goodies
If you can engage several rhythms at once, and it has midi, and analog sync, it will be useful for more than just few early beatbox sounds.
Im wonder it will be a Mega Pops!!! With all the minis plus more!!!!

Yeah i need a tr8s too man
@ yeah, it’s the best drum machine out there (specially if you’re a house/techno head) easy enough to use and a total beast for live work!
Waiting for this so long
We must have patience and wait longer 😂

I hope the keep the same form factor as 606 but also its pretty cool if they direct clone . But i doubt it. I missed ms-5 preorder too
the thing I dislike behringer the most for is that they weren't doing these releases 10-15 years ago
Hahha me too
Korg Volca beats sounds like 6:35

The Borg Mini Pops - Resistance is Futile!
199 tops. Maybe 149.
ALL THE DRUMS WILL BE CLONED

oh yeah oxygene rythm 😀
it was a good sound for the ambiance of the album.
I can't think about this box for a techno music or other dance music .
It def got a unique place in the drum vibe

Ohhh yeah baby… !!!!

Oxygene!!!🎉
Yes!! 👍
With the Solina. The Poly D, the possible Elka and the minipops drum machine… you have JMJarres first 2 albums basically

GRS is one of the toughest post cursors to ⛽️. Only relieved by a huge purchase of 700$ or more
this one my shogun not so sure way to prehistoric maybe if they add knobs and dual real spring reverb
univox sr95, sold one of those for cheap recently, i seen rediculous prices on reverb for them but nobody in there right minds would pay that shit
Alot of people out there not in there right minds 🧠 😂
Not gonna lie, would like to have this in a new clone.
People dig it so far
Ill pass on the message to Uli my carrier pigeon about to make a flight
One more teaser
Where are all the other promised wondermachines ?
The infinity tease

Syncussion with my 2600. I can imagine it now.
Its gonna sound amazing
i really want the rd 78, buuut.......this is what i really want
Beauty of behringer we can get both and still have money for dinner
No , what you really really want is the
Midi kazoo.
My only concern with Behringer is instead of showing us mock-ups and blueprints, get the damn stuff made!
