With specific regards to Invis, it's not that the AI knows you're there (they do - all of them do), it's that they're programmed to continue firing at your last visible location. You will update the enemy AI if you use your jump ability (not the base jump) because it makes a noise and draws the AI attention, causing them to shoot at where you made that sound. This is what trips up most players who aren't familiar with Invis and its mechanics against the AI. You can actually "sneak" past enemies who haven't been alerted to your presence and aren't in LoS of your character model even without Invis as long as you don't use a jump ability or initiate a sprint in their aggro range because of how the AI works and what triggers a location update.
What makes EK so enjoyable to me is how thorough he is when he goes and explains things. He isn't just telling you what he's doing, but why he's doing it and the benefits of it vs other methods. That really makes a difference and has been extremely helpful for me as I continue to try and get better at GM's.
Very interesting and enlightening conversation as a returning player I think a lot of this will help me get back to the end game after about a year off destiny 2
Out of all your videos, this interview show and tell format is my favorite type. They're so valuable. Just listened to your excellent SMG episode on the Massive Breakdowns pod, too. I hope Kyt Kucha has you back again sometime
I remember learning that when a servitor starts spinning, that means it is ready to teleport when you shoot a rocket or something at it, my mind was blown. 400 hours in shooting and missing servitors and I never noticed that pattern lmao

As someone who’s been through both the clan and the lfg bender. This man is SCREAMING the words I’ve always said but everyone screamed at me for. I actually used to solo every night fall back in D1 because well the first bit. And I learned the same sort of mindset he has. “No one thing is the best, it changes constantly and you must be able to adapt and work as a team”
That's mostly because, generally speaking, the "one loadout to rule them all" mentality comes from people who think they're better than they actually are and don't realize they're being carried by the adaptable player who understands what actually works best in a given situation. These "one size" players are also the ones you find trying to speedrun standard Strikes/Matchmade Nightfalls and dying 60% of the way into a run without having killed anything non-essential. What they should be doing is running Dungeons solo to start learning how to run GMs and Raids properly, but they won't.
Ive learned that in any game like this, if you have above 60 iq, its probably best to trust yourself and use metas as a guideline. I played ESO for a few months, and not even 2 weeks into the game, i was teaching people that had played since launch extremely common sense brain dead stuff. I think it has to do with how easy mmp/RPG games are these days. In ESO you can do almost all the content in the game with NO tanks or healers, just DPS and youll do them faster. But these kids literally sit in que for 30+ minutes for a 5-20 minute dungeon waiting for a tank or healer, EVERY TIME LOL. Blows my mind how people cant think for themselves. I was absolutely murdered on their reddit for mentioning this... but of course no explanations to why i was wrong, just downvotes

This was the most helpful and insightful destiny video I’ve ever watched since playing the game! Thank you guys for making this and please do more like this in the future.
So happy to hear Inmost Light recommended! It works in any class, and it's pretty insane when you can throw a Duskfield every 4-5 seconds. In Void it's constant Vortex grenades and shield tosses.
I've been watching EK for quite a while, he's given me some good insights. After 4000+ GMs it would seem he should be one of the go-to folks if you want to play that end game stuff (as I always do every season). He also streams on Twitch so I watch him there, especially when GMs drop for the season. Get some good tips and pointers. In his GM YT vids as well. Gotta admit, for a PvP player like PattyCakes to feature a PvE guy I was a bit puzzled but it was a great chat with EK and much appreciated that you made this video :)
I did enjoy this chat immensely. Till today, even though I watched EK twice or thrice, this is the first time I came to know that he has over 4000 GM clears. Wow! Subbed immediately and followed on Twitch too. Thanks PC.
Only like 50 hrs into the game and i just cant put it down got really lucky on what exotics i got, and loving the grind for a good titan build. Already reset my crucible rank a time or two, and this advice was really helpful. Thanks
things like this are why I love Destiny. I've played this game since day one and EK's unique perspective let same learn more about the game I love so much.
This definitely helped me, I was playing D2 non-stop from launch until 2 months after forsaken dropped, i started again about 3 days before the current solstice event and started a fresh account so with all the added and deleted content it felt like Destiny 3 to me. This got me back on track and I now am 1563 with a handful of exotics. Last thing I remembered was the Orpheus rig being a super spammer's wet dream.. sucks that that got nerfed into the ground
I main hunter for everything. I've always just been using omno for gms raids etc... But hearing EK talk about Aeons I'm definitely going to start using them more I think. Will be much more beneficial to my team imo.
I love how people speak about divinity like it's in everyone's toolbox. Specially when talking about people who've struggled to get into end game content. Considering, 1) how hard it is for solo players to even find a GoS raid to begin with, and 2) with the stigma that revolves around how much of a pain a div run is, best of luck getting a divinity without a dedicated raid team willing to spend 2-3 hours in GoS.
@@Optprime76 I have divinity, but most solo players will not have it, and will be extremely unlikely to get it, or for that matter even know the quest exists.
Fantastic video Patty! Love to finally see some high-end PvE content, I've been getting way more into that. And I LOVE that you got EK on here! He's the best!
This is a great post. I am a Day 1 (which means nothing) but really appreciate the thought and information you provide. This is so good for solo players that are intimidated by the end game content. I myself am trying to push into this content, because with the right group it would be really fun. Amazing post! Thank you both for all of your information. The biggest RUclipsr that comes to mind that does this is Anthony Padilla, if you've seen any of his interviews on his channel. I think it could add a great sorta -- book binding finale to encapsulate the interview. "i don´t see many titans running around with Hoil" YES! This is such an amazing exotic for literaly anything. You can spam your abilities without any requirements besides timing your spam well. You have constant barricades, constant melees, constant grenadespam, it makes getting through GMs till endboss so much eaisier.
big up Ek, i soloed proving grounds using HOIL with skyburners and solar titan, took me an hour but it was the most adrenaline filled thing ive ever done in this game, lotta fun but im definitely not doing it again
Cool, I started to follow EK a couple of weeks ago with his vid about movement and knowing the enemies and chow they shoot. Now here we are with a great combination vid, I love it! Plus I managed to do all GMs solo this season - coincidence on the timing? I think not! Edit: btw, I really hat to laugh when EK said, that most people chose an invis Hunter to solo stuff. Well, guess what I’ve been using.
Interesting to hear this guys point of view, saw another video on youtube not so long ago ranking exotics and Arbalest as well as Aeons were ranked worst in slot.
This video helps so much because I'm a returning player from playing the first couple of years of this game and then just got back into it a week ago and had to catch up on A LOT of stuff. I'm working on my warlock but got a titan and hunter up and going too. just trying to figure out builds and grinding for God roll weapons that best compliments the subclasses. I want to do my first raid but I'm very intimidated by it since I'm having trouble killing things efficiently and implementing buffs and debuffs
Recently for GMs I've been running Helm of S14 and the Edge of Action. It allows me to defend my Aeon team mate by throwing the glaive shield over whatever champion they're finishing. And it benefits only from, well, the unstoppable glaive.
edge of action is my new baby, ever since they added an over shield to its base bubble, it makes for easy free rezzes and on top of that glaives are phenomenal in end game
Might sound a little strange but I really like running Radiant Dance Machines. I use gamblers dodge and throw a bunch of melees either for the scorch ignites or turning my whole team invisible. I find it pretty fun in lowerish content like dungeons. I probably would run frostee or aeon in a gm type scenario.
This is awesome coming from someone who has never played destiny 2, trying to figure out where to start is hard lmao can’t wait to learn this game though I love big learning curves
For GMs I run max resilience with max intellect as a bubble titan. Along with crest of alpha lupi. Creating tons of orbs for my allies and allowing myself to get constant health boosts with the chest piece!
I stopped using Classy 2 weeks towards the end of the season and any builds I save on DIM are always without seasonal mods with exception of damage reducers that usually always get replaced anyway. Classy was great, I wish I used it more to cheese some dungeons and it made HIML Titan unkillable death dealers. But all things must come to end. Loved the video, some great information, some things I put into practice already, others I need to work on. Expanding my horizon on exotics better for GM's is for sure one of them. One of the biggest things I need to adjust is my perception on the score, doing strikes, Nightfalls and such, people often judged your input and effort by the score your score at the end of the game. Generally, really the person with the biggest score just got the final blows on the Champions, that's all. But that gets beaten into new lights very early into the game or at least from my perception. Something I'm often telling my friends not to worry about, stop comparing your score to mine. Roles etc.
Worst part about destiny for me is going from always having a good team that enjoys playing it and learning raids to having 1 or 2 guys become toxic because they were online 24/7 constantly grinding for the newest weapons and showing off then slowly abandoning each other for lfg groups and losing all the fun of what games are supposed to be leading to the whole group not playing it anymore. I finally came back after 8 months to see noone else even considering coming back so its now just repetitive tasks alone since lfg just doesnt work anymore for average players. so seeing how ek handles the team strategy and talking about solo players like myself coming in loaded for all the champions really hits home and im glad theres someone like him in the community that doesnt get caught up in being the top pvp or first solo raid etc all the time he just genuinly enjoys helping the community is awesome
Last season was the first season I attempted gm's. I loved them and look forward to October 4th to run them again. Last season with solar ignition made them fairly easy, so this season will be interesting to see what strategies work best.
Well even though I love playing endgame this kinda helped set in stone what I have learned all these years. I dont have time to play the game very intensively but I know my way around. Sometimes I need time to figure stuff out and of course I get blamed but that's part of it. Also the Foetracer stuff blew my mind, I always thought it only worked for non bosses. But im not a hunter main so im probs not gonna use that info
I just watched your last two videos and I”m so happy to see you highlight other great creators in the community! I always like when my fav creators show off other people! I think it’s some of the love the community needs right now :)
Haven’t played destiny 2 in 2 years so I just started the witch queen. Been playing the campaign on legendary and it’s a pain In the ass but I’m getting thru it
I like how this mans just described the solar titans super now lol, Burning maul is basically that, im pretty sure before Solar 3.0 or at some point there was just a giant hammer bonk with ground fire but it was the most useless thing from what i remember
My advice to any new group (which was touched on in the video) is run a void hunter with omni. great debuffs, godd super, and the best person to rez in bad situation in the game. If your omni hunter lives you will clear the GM 95% of the time. The other thing my fireteam learned was COMMUNICATION is key. It leads to trust and better success.
@@theelit3170 Depends on when I can sneak away from work. I work from 0500-1700 (sometimes I work late or early) Mon-Fri with the occasional 24 hour duty even on weekends. But I get home and spend 1-3 hours with wife and kid and then I play till about 2300-0100 at night and then on nights I don't work the next day, I'm up around 0300-0500
Season 15 is when I finally got into the endgame pve of destiny after what 4-5 years of playing the game? And part of that was that I had the time to power grind because of the long season I was high enough on my warlock, hunter, and titan to do gms, it was awesome, but I feel like I just don’t have the time to grind all those levels out on all my classes like that,
I've been away from the game for a very long time. My brother got me to reinstall. Some stuff I remember. Other things I'm completely lost. I think I need to check out tutorial videos to fill in the blanks. When EK mentioned first favorite weapons? Nameless Midnight. Scout rifles are where it's at for me.
I’m technically a 0.1%-player too, but I only run stuff with lfg-people or rather inexperienced clanmates, so listening to this kind of makes my heart ache, because if a genie in a bottle would offer me three wishes, I’d use one of them to wish for a teammate like Ekuegan that I could run gms and carry people with every night 😮 (I run 300-400 nightfalls/gms every season and there’s a lot of stuff that can get frustrating, like when people blow up champions that I’m about to finish for heavy and then they shoot my div-bubble with their primaries because they’re out of heavy 😆)
@@alaskayoung3413 No, you get heavy ammo from letting a teammate wearing Aeons (exotic arms) kill a champion with a finisher and you shoot a blue divinity-bubble with your heavy weapon, because you’re doing 30% more damage and if you kill it fast your teammate using divinity won’t run out of ammo keeping up the bubble for too long. (And technically you’re more likely to get heavy ammo from killing enemies with a primary weapon, especially when it’s an exotic.)
Super informative and helpful being a new guy to the game. Just had guys in a raid talk mad shit cause I was 100k less damage than what they did to the boss😂 going to switch to void hunter to give it a try
For a long time i didn't know the difference between overload and unstoppable, and im a well seasoned destiny player. But i play D2 pretty casually now and don't even bother trying to raid because its such a pain to find a group that can pull it off and thats willing to teach or understand that its your first time doing that raid. I do GMs every other season whenever i get to the right level, they are usually pretty chill and wont hate your loadout.
I’m not sure on how good it is but chain of command is a monster for shield breaks and it doesn’t take a ton of shots to break it with adaptive munitions
Never done a GM nightfall but I agree that invis hunters are the best. I always play invis hunter because I like to rely on myself to stay alive and be able to revive my teammates.
I use almost exclusively void hunter, even match made nightfall strikes with bad teammates can be painful, void hunter lets you get away with so much... I've been pairing it with wormhusk for most things, and the amount of dumb things you get away with is quite amusing
Arc hunter needs a ranged super a throwable spear or javelin could be cool. Similar to thunder crash big damage or like well of radiance but the spear gets stuck in the ground creates a circle of aoe arc damage
I think void 3.0 hunter is bar none the strongest endgame subclass Destiny has ever seen. I've got hundreds of gms under my belt and I've soloed most of them as well(missed some early ones before gilding was a thing and they didn't give rewards) and Omni invis 3.0 hunter is godtier. Last season it was even better cause you could make heavy for yourself and that artifact mod alone allowed me to solo Lightblade, alongside the buffed Arbalist and the infinite invis Hunter build, but it wouldn't have worked as well without the ammo regen we for for the boss fight. Ursa Titan is still really good for carrying ppl through gms, though again Omni hunter is even better for this as you can instantly get them out of danger. But Ursas still have a place imo in things like Proving Grounds to tank the tanks(ha) for your teammates to burst down, and Fallen Saber in that first small room with all the Overloads and exploding shanks. Stasis Warlock is also a great gm class purely for it's add control abilities and instant get out of jail free super that can freeze anything including champions. That's my top gm subclasses for each class, void Hunter, void Titan and stasis Warlock. Next there's thing like Thundercrash for melting bosses in less difficult gms, or for more experienced teams. Void Warlock falls into the category as well where solar Warlock is also a good choice this season with it's fusion nade spam build(2 of these and a invis Hunter wreck Corrupted). Revenant is also an EXTREMLY underrated class for gms as well, it's got one of the best supers for gms in the game. Chaos Reach has fallen a few pegs with the Geomag nerf and no light super buffing artifact mods but can still work. And solar Hunter can do some work as well but again it's not void. Hammer Titan is amazing in most activities but I think it falls a little behind the other Titan subclasses in gms. The only really bad classes would be top and bottom tree arc Titan, Behemoth Titan(needs some buffs imo), ALL arc Hunter classes, and top and bottom arc Warlock classes. You can see the pattern here of the only remaining subclasses to not get the 3.0 treatment being mostly bad so to say I'm excited for their rework is an understatement. I think most arc classes have been bad for far too long besides Titan and it's only a single exotic making it viable at all, Geomags were similar. Arc Hunter has NEVER been good outside of Spire of Stars stun locking so I hope arc gets the attention it deserves next season. Then in about 6 months we'll have a brand new subclass to try out on gms whether it be poison or something else, I can't wait to see what it and the final darkness subclass brings to the game come Lightfall and Final Shape.
As a vet player I knew enemy AI were really tricky and kinda smart. Making the comparison of treating them like it's a pvp match made the instant connection of how to deal with them. Still very useful and more evidence on the heat that arc 3.0 needs to bring.
@@wompwomp130 At least in Gambit the PvE enemies are very smart, like, GM nightfall smart. Also the skill-based matchmaking will be good for the health of PvP because putting low skilled players against high skilled or tryhards is just asking for trouble and for PvP to fail.

I probably would run frostee or aeon in a gm type scenario.
try it with grim harvest revenant and the fragment that gives you an over shield when you pick up shards, so fun to play
Definitely never stop learning metas change season to season im excited for the future
This is awesome coming from someone who has never played destiny 2, trying to figure out where to start is hard lmao can’t wait to learn this game though I love big learning curves
Good discussion. Learned some new tips. Thanks!
I think a stasis exotic overload bow would be dope
I was farming proving grounds on master where me and a friend of mine were both running consecration titans with heart of inmost light.
I played destiny one. Just got destiny 2 thanks for the tips
Eukagan is very underrated I'm happy he is being recognised by other youtubers
The thumbnail has the upgraded warlock on arc with tier 4 resilience 💀
Ekuegan: "a lot of people are asking for bows to have an intrinsic perk"
Le Monarque: "I'm gonna do what's called a pro gamer move"
EK is the dude.
For GMs I run max resilience with max intellect as a bubble titan. Along with crest of alpha lupi. Creating tons of orbs for my allies and allowing myself to get constant health boosts with the chest piece!
Wicked awesome discussion and insights - big fan of both of you - thanks!
I think you should have ek on more. I liked the style of this video and his insight was very useful.
Great video, it’s like a destiny podcast.☃️❄️🌨 my snowman stasis build.
That hunter gameplay made me proud I feel like I'm on the right path. What is that power weapon it looks fun as heck?
Just started a character yesterday and i had so much fun, great game and story.
i listen through this whole thing good video
Roles etc.
This was great !
Just started completing solo lost sector's, for the first time im hype ^.^
Questions you asked was amazing bro I usually troll in comments but this vid was good.
this was a solid video with a lot of great info. thanks guys :D
I finally came back after 8 months to see noone else even considering coming back so its now just repetitive tasks alone since lfg just doesnt work anymore for average players. so seeing how ek handles the team strategy and talking about solo players like myself coming in loaded for all the champions really hits home and im glad theres someone like him in the community that doesnt get caught up in being the top pvp or first solo raid etc all the time he just genuinly enjoys helping the community is awesome
never clicked so fast
Great interview!
i only ever use Heart of The Inmost Light on my solar titan, goes great with this weeks strike modifiers
Great content ! Learned a lot. Thank you.
Wish I could like this more than once!
Man predicted pyrogale gauntlets lmaoooo
Haven’t played destiny 2 in 2 years so I just started the witch queen. Been playing the campaign on legendary and it’s a pain In the ass but I’m getting thru it
could you make a guide on FTP endgame? i think a lot of people would appreciate it
I like how this mans just described the solar titans super now lol, Burning maul is basically that, im pretty sure before Solar 3.0 or at some point there was just a giant hammer bonk with ground fire but it was the most useless thing from what i remember
We need more stuff like this... 👍
Im brand new to destiny 2 and I didn't realize just how lucky ive gotten with my exotic drops, I gor arbalest as one of my first
1st thing I'd say for the thing I notice newish players do.
Situational/spacial awareness and positioning
Not me with 4k+ hours, multiple Day 1 completions, flawless raids and solo/flawless dungeon clears
*clicks on video*
how much time do you invest in destiny daily/ weekly?
And he mentioned Vouchsafe, which is what I'm now using. 👍
So you get heavy ammo from killing with heavy ammo weap?
I still have a tough time visually identifying the different champions in the fog of battle and how to deal with them. Can you give some advice?
Just started playing and this was a great video! gonna buy the witch queen expansion soon.
thanks for the insight
I’m not sure on how good it is but chain of command is a monster for shield breaks and it doesn’t take a ton of shots to break it with adaptive munitions
Never done a GM nightfall but I agree that invis hunters are the best. I always play invis hunter because I like to rely on myself to stay alive and be able to revive my teammates.
Great Vid!!!!
I'd love for hunter to get a Ward/Well super. They're the only class without a "I put my super down and it makes orbs" super.
Was this a troll post or did this just age really well?
Bro predicted gathering storm
Well pvp is being changed for matchmaking so maybe it'll affect the pve ads?
@@wompwomp130 At least in Gambit the PvE enemies are very smart, like, GM nightfall smart. Also the skill-based matchmaking will be good for the health of PvP because putting low skilled players against high skilled or tryhards is just asking for trouble and for PvP to fail.
Ek is the Gm goat
