The title of this video got me to listen, I was thinking that the marimba was made out of a spruce or fir, (thus evergreen) and that somehow his melodies were an offering of the tree fell.
Please notice that Ben is playing on the Doug DeMorrow 5.0 studio marimba. Of note, the great longevity of the tone throughout the keyboard due to the painstaking process of balancing the bars throughout the instrument, one of Doug's fortes. I have the same version in a 4.3 with the same characteristics as the 5.0 octave. This instrument was a fraction over $9,000.00 and sounds better than the elite models of Marimba One, Malletech, and Yamaha. Doug also uses only brass resonators, which no other manufacturer uses, another reason for great tonal duration.
Everything is great about this piece and the playing. Hope to work on it soon. Waiting for my Demorrow 5.0 Concert model. I have a 4.3 studio version which has been great but wanted to move up. Thanks for this great piece of music.
Great piece! Could I ask what mallets you are using? They sound great in the mid to low range and then I was pleasantly surprised at how clear they are in the upper range. Thanks!
This is one of the best pieces I have ever heard.
Great tune and really skilled musician!
Those double laterals are nuts. So freaking clean
Adam Kaleta is he holding 4 mallets or 2 double mallets?!
0hhtec Musician 4 mallets, and I believe he's using Steven's grip.
Sheet music is available for sale on the Tapspace website. Thanks!
Wow! Totally awesome composition!
Beautiful
