Cheetahs aren’t really killing machines, they basically never attack humans and sadly lose their meals a lot of the times because they either couldn’t take it down or a lion or hyenas punk it for it’s food, that with the fact that they exert so much energy just to make a takedown means they usually have to eat the prey right there in the open which leaves them vulnerable to attacks

Biologically speaking, cheetahs don't belong to the genus "panthera" which includes all the wild cats with special voice boxes designed for a roar. This is why cheetahs can never give that intimidating wild roar, they just purr like smol baby cats 😭❤️

I could see Cheetahs being a very demanding but possible pet. It's social/friendly if raised properly (they get depression if they don't have friends), and shows love like licking/grooming, head bumps like cats, etc.
Biggest problem is you need a absolutely massive yard for exercise, they are purely carnivores with big appetites, they can love bite which is obviously not good, and they will groom you for affection but their tongues are so sharp they will make you bleed (it's like the roughest sandpaper). Also probably will eat you if they are starving but that's a given.
Under the right circumstances though? It's basically a way more demanding/complex house cat with way more energy than any dog.

Fun fact: cheetahs are extremely anxious animals, so some institutions are known for giving them “emotional support” dogs. They are united at a young age and grow up together. The dog’s purpose is basically to be the extroverted friend to the cheetah.

I’m literally in love with big cats now. I already own and love housecats so hearing bigger versions do the same exact sounds and have the same exact mannerisms makes me just- ugh, i love cats. Purrs and mrrps and meows.

Other neat facts about Cheetahs. They're rarely dangerous to humans due to being afraid of people so if you tried to pet one it'd run away rather than attack. Also people used to keep Cheetahs as pets, dating back to Ancient Egypt and they're apparently fairly easy to train and will be comfortable indoors as long as they have a chance to run around a bit every day.
