So, yes. There’s a good chance a poor Englishmen from 1,000 years go with no access to sanitary treatment would die from an arrow entering his body and blood stream lmao
Also, considering the arrow was already tainted with another persons blood… especially yes lmak

@@TheFamilyMan862Dirt and someone else's blood got into his wound. The wound festered and was amputated too late. This can be seen in his skin tone on his face. An arrow could hit a bone, this cannot be undone.

@@wall1nghe meant the guy Torstein stabbed probably wouldn’t die because the arrow didn’t go through the Mercian’s armour.

He probably knew he was gonna die when he fucked up his arm. In their culture, there's no use in trying to treat injuries because they believed in fate; that the gods would decide if they lived or not. So I guess Torstein knew his time was near and wanted to secure his seat in Valhalla. For those that don't know, Valhalla is where you'd go if you died in battle. Torstein died fighting, so it's not really a suicide.

Ragnars reaction to thorstein saying that he will go first is one of the many reasons why nobody else but travis could be ragnar. The way his eyes and subtle smile say "damn right" is the most believable reaction to a brother wanting to give himself to 'god' knowing it is his time. Beautiful acting . Flokis reaction too .

    So many emotions...
The beginning. Despite their savage strength & being led by Ragnar, the Vikings are in a forigen land with no backup. An ambush could cost them *EVERYTHING* .
Torstein being helped into battle by his friend Rolo.
Being offered the chance to *LEAD* them into battle. One last time. One last battle.
Seeing an army full of 'whole warriors' with its skirmishers ready to annihilate you with arrows. *AND SHOWING NO FEAR, ONLY BITTER RESOLVE.*
The pain & fear of not being able to make it to your enemy's position or even land a single blow.
The focus to fight through multiple arrow wounds & pain from a recent 'medieval' amputation & the overwhelming *JOY* of finally landing a killing blow on an overconfident enemy.
Seeing your Gods descend to greet you as you draw your final breath staring into the blue sky. *VIKING*
*& THE ENTIRE VIKING ARMY YELLING IN VENGENCE FOR YOUR DEATH. That's not a Rallying Cry. THAT'S A WARCRY FROM A VIKING WAR-BAND!*

I was commenting that it is impossible for Saxon's soldiers at the time wore unified clothes. I do not think it is the problem of my expression."Uniform" means first and foremost clothe in unified style, because the root "uni" means unified. So it is your problem that you all misunderstood my point.

I don't think that is correct. A standing army, being a professional army paid to be in constant service, would not exist until the 1600's. These would be men who lived on their lords land.
The point about armour still stands though. They would be wearing linen and wool underneath mail and their shields would be wooden rather than metal shown here. They also seem to be wearing brigandine which wouldn't come to europe until the 12th century. Their aventail also seems to be made from iron links, like mail, inlaid in fabric. Odd.

i do not understand why in this film all vikings who is somehow looks like are truly viking i mean physical appearance and who is give this film viking's atmosphere were kiled??? Eric and his son Leif had killed in 1 season, Arne were killed in second season Torsten were killed in 3 season. These are my favourites in this film and all theye were killed. This all ruin the film atmosphere. And instead of them we can often see woman wariors or who looks like more poor wariors rather vikings.Which is not desirable personaly for me!! I do not know your certain atritude for this, but i hope yoi share my thoughts.

Nah Torstein is a real one. But really sometimes life is so unfair and some things feel unbelievable. Like how is it that Rollo has trampled by a horse, a cut and yet survives. But an arrow to the arm causes the death of torstein. I mean I know why but it just seems unfair and too simple. And this is why people aslo says wars make no sense cause great men die so easily it is unbelievable
