So if programs get stuck over all other windows. Once you crl+alt+del and start task manager, if its on the wrong screen you can move it using windows key +shift +arrow key. If you only have one monitor, with task manage as the focus type the fist few letters of the task, then hit "delete" key. In this case "mec" would be enough to get the game selected for a forced end task.
Good info! What happens though if the task manager freezes too? :) I had that yesterday (on a different game). I had to restart using the PC's button. Not even Windows' "restart/shut down" were working! Anyway, is there something that has changed with YAML or the other mods? Because I've noticed many lag spikes that I hadn't before. Even in Baradul's better PC than mine there are, that I don't remember them in the first episodes.
@@Acaios1 I don't think I has seen task manager lockup before without the whole computer just not responding. But windows will try to "gracefully" close all programs during shutoff or restarts to avoid data loss. So if its not shutting down try checking if there any large tasks still running.
Nice! Currently I'm using the K3 Atlas with four Heavy LL and two ER LL with five improved jump jets. And with it's jump quirks...that thing practically flies. Steiner scouting at it's finest! (Yes...I know the K3 is Kurita, but they stole the idea from Steiner! lol)
Atlas’s are hard, they are all designed for balance load outs and the lack of Omni bays holds them back. Great armor, great structure, but your always stuck with a ballistic bay and missile bays. I like the Boarshead as a can opener with pulse lasers. Not your favorite weapon, but better pinpoint than standard lasers, PPC’s are good as well. But low mounted arm mounts hold it back no matter what you do. He large laser build works best in the arctic biome on a good hill, can do tons of damage. Head shots all day as the enemy walks towards you.
I think there's still a chance for the mech getting cored, and the pilot dying (30%?) hence the "improved life support" thingy to put in the head. I don't know though if that's depicted as he puched out, but still didn't make it, or he didn't punch out at all.
I stumbled upon a strangely fun niche build for the Annihilator ANH-1G It's an alpha build which deletes the CT from just about any mech with a single shot. The disadvantage is that you have to wait a while before firing the rifles again - Low-tech weapons: Four Heavy Rifle, 6 Medium Laser, 4 double-bins of ammo. - 300 Core, IS XL Engine, Mobility Gyro, QS Structure, Reactive Armor - Radical DHS Kit, two DHS in the engine and two Proto and two Compact HS slotted with some Cooling Lines. - TC Heat, Sniper Sensors, SLIC Suite You may try it just for fun. I plan to give this to my lance-mates since they don't fire all that often anyway. Improvements would be Clan XL and Composite Structure for more ammo or cooling.
Another suggestion to give, ASRMs a chance. 😁 If you don't lock on, they cluster tighter than LBX. Dumb fire for quick assault kills, lock on for flyers or fast lights.
6 large lasers is also my go-to build. I love the carnage half a dozen large lasers can cause. Going to chem lasers and there's almost no problems with heat at all, even on hot biomes.

The hardest part was resisting compulsive shopping on the mech you encounter before your real purchase. I managed to resist temptation 😋
Clan Heavy Large Lasers are my favourite build, I have made a 4x HLL Mad Dog in Roguetech but this 6xHLL Beast is even more deadly. Awesome to see the heaviest kitted out mechs just collapse.
My Atlas-BH has 6 Clan Heavies and a 1 HAG40, dropped the missiles for cooling and Damage enhancing equipment. Put in a bloodhound active probe and and Clan ECM. Modular targeting with Heat and Laser BC. One shots everything in its path.
Also in the last episode and the others before ... ... because that would mean he had to turn in a (configured) Mech that he doesn't want to, to fulfill that cantina mission. Maybe you missed that in a previous episode. Who knows, in the future he well get part or loot the goal of that cantina mission.
I wish heat vision and night vision was tied to actual cockpit items, like enhanced imaging, night vision etc. That would make so much more sense than having them on all mechs all the time.
Hey Bara, i gave the coyote missions mod and the YAML clan mechs a go recently after seen how cool they are in your videos. a lot of the coyote missions keep causing my game to crash and i was told it had to do with the clan mechs addition, you dont seem to be having the same issues as often so i was wondering if there is an additional mod or setting that you are using that fixes this. Sometimes my game crashes as well. Usually in long missions or warzone that I stick around too long. Probably has to do with so many units spawned, killed, wrecks on the field, etc. I think my RAM usage gets maxed out and the game just stops working, and can take a while to end task with task manager on the applications tab. I'll go into processes and just kill the MW5 process and that usually cancels it real quick.
@@thegreatlarry9454 I thought that too when id happened so i upgraded to 48Gb of RAM and the problem still persists. Most of my crashes are instantaneous, it finishes the animation panning around my lance then as soon as i have control of the mech it crashes. Some errors are like you described when things spawn en-mass but very rarely.
@@lukek1219 As, you mean when starting a mission and it's showing your lance to you, then you hop into the pilot's view and you crash? I can say that's never happened to me before. I play the game with some mod conflicts in the mod list, but it still runs well. I'm pretty sure you have a different list of mods and load order than I do, so that might also be it. I guess try updating your mods, sounds like the mission is loading up, but maybe when it tries to load up the enemies or maybe even your own mechs, it's running into some sort of conflict and crashes.

I had a blood Asp with 2 Heavy Large Lasers per top hard point and then 3 Heavy medium lasers per arm...loved this mech so much and now it is not in my bay.....just rips things open!
All my builds now go black carapace and endo-composite. Adding a single heatsink reduces weight by 10 tons for each one you use. Could be a mod I'm using and it drops cooling by 2,not .2 and I can hold my lasers down for constant fire. I have more cooling than heat generation. I got 169 alpha on one build and 180 on another. Also, look at ER L laser(c). 1 slot and 4 tons. If you got the hard points, you can load em down. I run 400 engines. I just hold the button down and head shot em down in no time 🤣
sounds like one of the mods that makes single heat sink have -1 tonnage with bonkers cooling. a funkier way to play is simply turn on weightless and no critslot weapons in YAML and go ham. cheaty as hell but also fun as hell

Makes light work of missions running several of those mechs in a Lance, but sure is fun watching mechs drop after one burst to the head 🤣 I run solo a lot of times. 10 lasers in an 85ton mech
I think while you are having fun you can also try to focus on the missions, there are a lot of upgrades you want like 15% more speed behind those annoying to do missions.
Heavy Large Lasers my beloved If you ever find the Energy variant of the MADIIC, it can fit 8 Heavy Large Lasers. Mimnmaxed, the Mech by itself has an alpha of 200. gets toasty without ProtoHS tho.
I'd appreciate if anyone can answer my question. I've the same mods as what Baradul is using here, but I've noticed that the smoke on the battlefield is GPU intensive and when very heavy can slow my frames. It is also very obstructive to my line of sight and I cannot find out how to utilize thermal vision as the button for it activates nothing. If someone knows something about these things, I'd appreciate it on relaxing strain on frames (as the settings for smoke are already low) and or how to get thermal working.
I'm quite new to MW5 period and even newer to the modded world; I've installed YAML, but as soon as I did I noticed a significant increase in difficulty (I can't even beat the second campaign mission anymore since it now takes three perfect, full-blast quad laser hits to kill a single tank. Anyway, my actual question is, how in the world do you cram so much stuff into a single mech? After installing YAML some of my existing mechs are now literally unusable since I'm left with no available tonnage after installing an engine that moves faster than 21km/hr. Am I missing some mod or did I end up with some misconfigurations somewhere?
My game crashes occasionally too. My big issue however is that when I repair in the mechbay, the screen starts flashing black. It neclver crashes but it lags and flashes black everytime. I use the same mods as Bara with the exception of von biomes. It tends to make me crash a lot when used. Anyone else get the flashing like I do?
I wish I had a heat vision mod for my game. I refuse to run Yaml mods though so no HV for me;( Thats the kind of build I enjoy though. Slice and dice 'em till none left and do it quickly! I hope they fix the gauss rifles...after the last patch, the gauss rifle is about worthless.
Do you have an un-modded playthrough? You’re able to do things and have access to mechs and weapons that aren’t part of the base version so keeping up with you while you play is impossible.
I've been testing the dev branch of HHR for about two weeks now. This last save breaking change they made (about a week ago) I decided to try a Solaris start. It's definitely interesting and has been fun but I'm worried it's not going to make such great RUclips content. Lots of the same battles over and over with little in the way of progression other than having lots of money for Argo upgrades and implant/shunt operations.
lol have to say you quite rarely see atlas running over 100 kph lol maybe drop lrm 20 and get masc for even higher speed to get range of enemies for heavylaser lol... (still wondering why bara didn´r buy clan masc marc 2 in the last ep lol just looking for compact actuators and completely missed that clan masc eventough mouse was over it for while...) lol that atlast really likes to run... lol
Agreed, because Masc also helps mitigating a bit the problem of the slower turning speed from speedy leg actuators and the gyro UL advanced, and the arms being glued to the torso from the compact arm actuators.
...As much as I like MW5 ...I would never use Mods that give you Armor and Weapons that not exist (Ferro Lamelar is from after 3067...in which MW5 is not playing) I mostly play Standard Mechs (with minimal modifications) but not so extremly changed Mechs
The mod adds quite a few mechs and the supporting equipment to keep pushing the timeline naturally. If anything, not modding the game is far more jarring to the timeline as EVERYTHING just stops after the clan invasion starts.

I can also recommend using the Super-F4 program, useful for this purpose of closing programs when everything is frozen up.

Try activating arm lock on the atlas. It should help with the compact actuators' sluggishness

You are right... LP Lasers, even lvl 5 inner-sphere variety... will outperform the heavy lasers in the boar's head.
I don't know what it is exactly, but I just love it when he says "laser beams".

Get mod options, it will let you balance your game, such as changing the 3x tank/turret hp.
