Palpatine first kills all the jedi, he then discards all the clones or kills them (gotta wait until bad batch s3 to see what happens to them)... Either way they all shrivel out of existence and relevance, and then the empire committs a genocide against the mandolorians killing almost all of them. He was the enemy of them all and only Maul knew it.

Maul's character doesnt get enough credit. And i mean that personally. Most everyone thinks Maul is just another sith, when in fact he was trying his damnedest to prevent the extinction of the jedi. I've heard people argue he was just trying to save his own skin and keep his crime syndicate. But that was never the case, he himself, a person who has cheated death, stayed alive for years and years, watched his brother die, took on his old master, who was a sith, finally learned the truth. and would rather die, than see that horror. But before even that, he tried to warn a jedi. an enemy to him, he warned them. mauls character, as dangerous as it may be, this right here, was his first and finally outcry to the jedi, and i do believe that Maul would've helped ashoka if she had offered to take his word
I deem, that entire character's story arc, especially after Sidious's visit - the greatest disrespect to Maul. They showed, that he cared about brother - but after his pass - Maul didn't open his rage to continue the fight with ex-teacher. Instead of battle to death, he fell and started to beg. Also dumb scenes earlier with pirates and even mandalorian line - just a pile of trash. How could so diligent and wise sith, who anticipated the fall of the Republic and gathered great forces with resources for his own rule, so stupidly screw up all opportunities with the finest mando warriors and all sector. Of course, plot armors of Ahsoka and clones with the best and friendliest good girl in the galaxy Bo-Katan destroyed all Maul's achievements and future too. It's true pity, when you imagine how Maul could be written.
We'll because only they knew they were slaves to Palpatine's plot. Count Dooku only realised he was used right at the last minute. Everyone was a slave of his plot. The Republic, the Separatists, Dooku, Maul Savage Oppress, the Clones, the Jedi, and Anakin. They were all used and discarded, forced to weaken the other before being destroyed themselves.
Actually everything would still happen Anakin only excelled thing but if Anakin would have died and he never knew about Anakin he was simply just carry forward his plan he would have just found another Apprentice

I would really love for maul to get his own serie there is a lot to unpack in mauls history also a lot we dont know about him. Imo maul has always been on the edge of dark and light especially later in his life of exile
I used to watch Star Wars casually and I actually enjoyed the universe itself but I couldn’t say I was a fan. When I decided I was going to watch EVERY PROJECT star war had Maul definitely turned out to be in my top 3 favourite characters

The fear in Mauls voice as he begs Ashoka to just let him die is truly a masterpiece it genuinely conveys how terrified maul was of Sheev and Order 66. The Clone Wars animated 2008 truly was a masterpiece
Maul became such an amazing character, still evil, but only because it’s all he ever knew. He didn’t want it anymore but it’s all he had. Then his death in rebels talking to Obiwan as if they were never enemies in the end. Truly tragic. Sam Witwer did an amazing job at bringing life to this role
Ahsoka really should’ve listened to Maul during this episode. they were too late regardless, but Ahsoka could’ve avoided the Order 66 encounter if she worked with Maul. ofc it would be a temporary alliance.
Crazy that both dooku and even maul tried to warn obi wan and Ahsoka respectively of order 66. Granted, dooku’s was left vague but maul was so frantic to the point you should’ve figured something was up. Also anakin was warned by fives too who wasn’t a villain. The amount of times they came so close to learning about it is gut wrenching.
