When I am sick, I always feel better after a run. And then I pay for it for the rest of the day. I lean towards running anyway but shortening the distances. I hope you feel better soon.
Hi Chris been watched all episodes from the start. You have definitely motivated me several times to get out and run. I have calf issues at times I recommend compression socks or recovery socks.. recovery is much faster for me and helps to get me back out running. Loving your 26 week's series. Thanks
I can relate to the run while sick dilemma for sure. First cold hit in a while hit a couple weeks ago as we were escaping the record PNW snow. Made it to the islands and had to skip some runs and just keep it low key. Nice work!
Way to work through it Chris! My rule of thumb is run if it's above the neck--take time off it it drops into the lungs. Keep up the mental training. I got through Leadville 100 on limited training due to an injury purely because I trained my head to deal with the hard stuff. You got this!
@@CjayeMedia It's definitely an adventure! Only Western States holds a bigger place in my heart. If you ever decide to come out for Leadville, let me know and I can take you out for some of the segments!
Hey Karen. I'm working on putting together a weekly live show and I wanted to see if you would be interested in coming on as a guest to talk about you ultra running experiences.
Hi, I had a cold myself a couple of weeks ago, slowed my training, I took lemon juice and honey with hot water, lots of fresh oranges too, it worked for me.. From the UK btw been watching from the start, keep up with the good work.
episode 19! where did the time go!? next week 20 then six weeks to race day - whoop whoop! I've got 5 wks to my first 50K - 4hr runs start this weekend, hopefully the rain will hold off.
Well done for keep going when you have a cold, I live near the beach and my best runs are along it. 👍 everything happens for a reason maybe you was meant to rest and not run just walk. 😀 x
Are you still using the leg massager? I always have calf pain and am constantly foam rolling. Always looking for a better method. Love the Mustang. Brings back a lot of great memories as a kid. I was told my grandfather had the 3rd ever Mustang off the assembly line and used it as his daily driver. He used to drive me around in it over summer vacations in the 80’s.
Right before I head out I have started foam rolling and using the lacrosse ball on my legs. Then I start out with a slow mile and then I will do some dynamic stretching. You?
Great job, Chris! Those shirts are nice. Do you mind telling us the charity you will be donating half the profits to? Keep up the good work, really enjoying the content.
I have a minimum donation for my Run4Kids charity of $200. After that I was going to do a poll with submitted ideas from viewers and choose the one with the most votes.
I am certainly starting to feel the pressure of race day looming. Just trying to stay focused on the current week and not worry to much about the race. Thanks for the support!
Hi Chris, thanks for all the vids, keep up the great work! I had a cold myself last week, feel your pain. Can you recommend any good local trail routes I might be able to run, rain permitting? I’m over in LA from the UK at the end of the month. Going to be based in West Hollywood but keen to get out there on the trails. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, all the best J.
There are some great trails in Griffith Park which is where the Griffith observatory and the Hollywood sign are. They have trail races there. griffithparktrailmarathon.com
Tough week!! You have not stopped your workouts even being sick.
Nice job Chris. Hope you get well soon and keep grinding.
Thanks Mike
Awesome job man
Thanks Brock!
8:31 Its a personal jack hammer!! And I just pre-ordered my t-shirt!!
Classic run move - Barely make it out the door for 12 miles but end up doing 14 miles. Great job!
Haha. Thanks Brent

Love the hat you are wearing at the end. I have the same one. We lost a good one when we lost Zac. RIP ZZ
Thanks! I wonder if anyone would recognize it. Very sad indeed.
It's always great to see how your journey is progressing!
Thanks Dan!
7 weeks dude! You got this, keep it up. I have my first half marathon this weekend that I've been training for and I'm psyched!
Best of luck on the half Alex! Let me know how it goes.

I have been using compression socks on an off. They do see to help.
Feel better soon!
Thank you! Feeling better today after spending two days in bed.
Just purchased my rr&r shirt, yeeee! Keep up the great vids!

Thank you so much Karen! I would love to do Leadville someday. I am doing Transrockies in August which runs part of the course.

Thank you!. Ended up spending two days in bed which helped a lot.
Commitment 🔥
Thank you
Training while sick is always an iffy situation. I usually decide to stay in bed... :). But really great on keeping going!!
I ended up spending the last two days in bed and it helped a lot.
You were telling me to get well last week. Now I want to return the gesture. Get well soon. :)

Time does fly! Good luck on the long runs. Let me know how your race goes.

I have to agree Marie. I ended up spending the last two days in bed resting.

I am. I just have to use it carefully on my calf because they are so tender. I’m hoping it will get easier with time.
Hello! I enjoy watching your progress. It's encouraging. What kind of warmup do you do for long run days?
Right before I head out I have started foam rolling and using the lacrosse ball on my legs. Then I start out with a slow mile and then I will do some dynamic stretching. You?
You really need to incorporate as much hills as possible, it'll be super beneficial for your race
I am trying to get them in when I can. Unfortunately it is tough to get many in during the week. Weekends are when I try to get them in.
Seven weeks out! You can do this.
THANK YOU!!!

Well done Chris ! you must be getting nervous now ?!

What beach were you at?
Great job Chris!
Newport Beach.
Cjaye Media Oh, okay. I couldn’t recognize it at first. That’s awesome!

Don't you just hate when it's pouring the rain :)
Yes I do!
🤙🏻🤙🏻
Chris be sensible miss 3 days of training and get better it will pay off and seriously it won't affect your training
Thanks Abbi. I actually spent Monday and Tuesday in bed. I felt much better on Wednesday. Thank you so much for the support!
Not sure if running while sick is a good idea. I would rather take a break. Sometimes less is more.
Unfortunately that is what has had to happen today and yesterday.
Try loading up on echinacea as well when you’re feeling sick
Will do. Thanks for the tip!
