3:51 LOVE that you mentioned this, not many reactors notice that Joy & Sadness are the only two emotions that share the same color hair and eyes. It is one of my favorite details in this movie.

As a person and a Mom who’s lead emotion is most definitely sadness, I really appreciated the representation of Riley’s Mom.

I'm not sure that the Mom is necessarily sad, but her driving emotion is a mature version of sadness, Empathy.
yes that's part of what I noticed in the scene with bingbong and sadness. she's giving him space to feel his feelings and she's displaying compassion/empathy.
Wow! Someone actually gets the point of Sadness. You're about the only reactors I've seen that wasn't like "Dang it, Sadness, stop it!"
Thats actually so true, it's insane that people I saw never got the point of sadness doing the things she did.
@@elmoslays2043 I mean people do end up seeing the point of sadness, just mostly near the end. You can tell that's kind of what the movie was going for
she can't help it, Riley is suffering from depression due to leaving her old home so Sadness is doing her job. it is Sadness' nature to do that...the same way a cat hunts.
@@IDyce88 Exactly. Joy doesn't try to stop Anger from being angry and she doesn't try to stop Fear and Disgust from doing their jobs. I've never seen her tell Anger, "Okay, you need to take a deep breath and count to 10."
@@j.woodbury412 at the begining though joy does seem kind of obsessed with keeping riley happy...despite the fact sadness has a job to do as well. i feel like joy is kind of bossy, she reminds me of a friend i used to have. i liked him but way too bossy...got on my nerves sometimes.

i think the emotions represent the PRIMARY emotions...not all of them...any fool could tell you there is more than five emotions.
Yellow = Joy, Happy,
Blue = Sad, depression, upset
Purple = Fear (ironically there is no mention of power or ambition)
Green = disgust, envy, jealousy
Red = passion, anger,
There is so a lot to point out. The lands were not just her worlds. They were her beginning of core values. Adjustment disorder, which Riley was trying to cope with, is a form of trauma. Joy's behavior represents the idea of always wanting to be happy. It's interesting that anger takes over (masking trauma and sadness). The concept to avoid sadness is akin to avoiding pain and instead of understanding ways to healthily cope with stress of change. Inside out 2 gets even more complex. Love to discuss these movies in counseling sessions.

when i was a kid we had to move all the time (well three times but whose counting, short answer is me XD). My dad worked hard and i can't say where but basically whenever they told him to go somewhere new he basically had to jump. We started in the UK, our home, and then went to France, then Spain...then back to the UK. And before i was born my family lived in Portugal too. So i know how hard it can be to move, make new friends...struggle with all Riley goes through...it's not easy. i got bullied, i got depression...i still struggle sometimes...the irony is the foreign countries had better schools than the UK did...and i hate to say that considering i am British.

You guys are fun to watch when you aren't constantly trying to explain the point of the movie multiple times before the movie gets to the point. Like you yourself said, maybe just WATCH the movie, with a small amount of comments here or there, and more discussion after the fact rather than talking over almost everything and constantly bringing up the point of the movie.
