The House of the Dead 3 - 1 Credit Clear, SS Rank

The House of the Dead III is the third installment of the famous arcade shooter series of the same name. It was released in arcades on June 1st, 2002 and had several home console ports, including the original XBox, Nintendo Wii, and PS3 (as well as a PC version.) As opposed to the first 2 games in the series that used pistols, this installment has the player using a large green shotgun that you would have to manually pump to reload.
I chose to use the PS3 version of this game for one specific reason, and that was the Sony Sharpshooter accessory made for the PS Move controller. When the Move controller is plugged into the sharpshooter, it relays that you're using the accessory to the PS3 and tells the game to enable the trigger on the gun to shoot and the pump to manually reload. It is the closest way that I've personally found to emulate the arcade experience at home based on how the gun functions, including the ergonomics since it's designed to be held like a two-handed firearm (much like the original green arcade shotguns.) This is far from my best performance in this game, both for score and avoiding damage, but it was nice to revisit an old classic. I STRONGLY recommend picking it up as part of the House of the Dead Collection on PSN while it's still active, as it also includes House of the Dead 4 and Overkill: Extended Cut; and of course I also recommend using the Sharpshooter accessory in tandem with a PS Move controller to play the game.

I dont get it, is the rating of the level based only on score?, because i have completed some levels without taking damage and still get a B score....

It depends on how fast you complete levels too. The faster you kill enemies as soon as they're visible, the better your rank will be. Shooting them while they're "dead" and writhing on the floor shaves off a bunch of time too, as you see me do a bunch in this playthrough.

The best difficulty to get the highest score in the game is either hard or Very hard. ​@@MelsypooOfficial
