A year with the Deere | Four seasons | 6215R on Zuidberg tracks

- Early 2018 Boudeling Farms from the Dutch village of Swifterbant (Flevoland) purchased a brand new John Deere 6215R. No ordinary tractor as this example is fitted with four Zuidberg tracks, produced locally at their factory in Ens. We already caught up with the tractor when it was carrying out one of its first jobs on the farm: • 4 Track Deere | John D... . Later we saw it again during potato planting: • The John Deere Team | ... .
The 255 HP tractor has now completed its first season carrying out a variety of jobs. So it is now time to follow it during its first season looking at some of the things it has done using a variety of implements. Aside from the 6 furrow Lemken Juwel 8 OF plough it is also seen in action using VSS Agro and Lemken seedbed cultivators, a 4,5m AVR hook tine cultivator, SMS subsoiler and Amazone drill combination.

This is very interesting equipment.
Nice video and first music is very good
Very Cool!
Would be nice to see this same tractor doing this same jobs with the standard wheels, they need to launch a 6RX!
Bring it on!
Video stupendo tanto quanto la macchina 😍🔝
Thank you!
beautiful angle
Thank you.
Con suelos así es otra cosa 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 y prefiero el neumático, no me gusta la oruga ..
Buen video 👏🏼👏🏼
BRAVO POWER TO YOU GOOD JOB 😍😍👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌
Great video, amazing working environment
Keep up with amazing videos
And if it’s possible as a request- could you make some liquid like video? With more details like what type of nozzles are they using?
You mean a sprayer video Mirko? We are working on that :-)!
Nothing runs like a Deere! 🦌

John Deere is bast tractor
Nice video, with Zuidberg tracks mounted to the nice JD - R tractor! Is this the ultimate way to help to safegard the soil and limit compaction by using such tracks? It certainly gives low pressure onto the soil, and equally important without having wheels and a big part of the tractors' weight deep in the furrow, it particulalry causes less damage on heavy clay soils and therefor no compaction caused deeper in the soil. So, just close to the surface some slight compaction of the soil is caused, which can be managed via regular tillage. No compaction at a depth of 25 - 30 cm, which is appreciated and necessary for a required soil moisture management and crops rootzone, leding to good crop growth. So a clear advantage from plowing on top ('bovenover ploegen') instead of in the furrow. It appeared in some situations a challenge though, once ploughing with GPS, sometimes correction is needed. For that RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic) seems to work, as the most accurate form of positioning used in agriculture. In addition, the correction signal can be received from a network of reference stations, as from the network of 06-GPS units. Works well in four seasons 👍👌
There are a lot of discussions about tracks. The narrow rollers making a higher ground pressure than expected.
Awesome video!!! Just a quick question, why they go to all the effort at the end of the run to get all the way to the ditch? Seems like alot of wear on the transition and drive train to be changing from forward to reverse so many more times than just twice, why not just do 2 or 3 extra headland runs, except for row cropping I don't see the point
Our fields are quite small and usually 12 to 25 acres. Headlands grow a lower grade quality potatoes or onions etc, so farmers want to minimise them as much as they can. Also for making an easy job headlands with potatoes and onions aren't even planted. So they use a small 5-6m strip next to the ditch to turn on and try to keep the rest in as good shape as possible.
Suppose I forgot about onions and taties, we grow alot of maize and wheat/barley where the whole paddock is planted
@@jackilling4921 with crops such as maize, cereals and beet the whole field is planted, same here.
Love your videos and the places that you film on are beautiful. Could i ask that you please tell us what the machines are and what the implants are used for? Like@ 4:23. What the heck are the blue things for? Is he just smashing the dirt? Thanks
Thank you for the kind words! The blue machine(s) you refer to are seedbed preparators. The one on the front levels the soil and the one on the rear crumbles it so fine seeds can be sown in the soil. Sugar beet or onions for example. In the beginning of the video the tractor is ploughing. In April (4:58) it is using a rotary hook tine cultivator. This uses metal spikes/tines at high speed to finely crumble the soil and make ridges where potatoes are planted in. In October (6:02) it is using a subsoiler attachement, another type of cultivator (power harrow) and a seed drill to sow wheat seeds. With this machine it is not needed to plough the soil and the crop residue from the previous crop (carrots) is mixed in the soil.
@@Agrifotodotnl Amazing technology. I live in the states, in northern Utah we have mountains all around so to look out over the land in the Netherlands is so beautiful. Thanks again!
@@sexyiguana358 I would say the same about Utah! We crave for mountains here our countryside is as flat as a pancake.
нам о таких тракторах мечтать
Красота. Так красиво пашет и не верится что такое может быть
Hello ! How have you managed to attach subsoiler with seeding machine on 6:03 ? Thanks
The subsoiler has an additional hitch to mount the power harrow and drill to. The PTO is replaced with a longer shaft that runs all the way to the tractor.
@@Agrifotodotnl can you please tell me what is the brand name of this subsoiler ?
Nice looking tractor but it looks funny with them big finders on it
Small mudguards/fenders are common in Europe, in contrary to the US. I guess because of the tyre configuration and road regulation.
Great video! I hardly see anyone in the US plowing grass to make fields, and it seems like European and NL farmers plow grass every year. Why is that? Is it a cover crop? Is it a new field? (P.S. I’m not a farmer, but it’s super interesting to me).
Hello Ryan, thank you for your interest. This grass is indeed a cover crop to catch nutrients which would otherwise leach out to the subsoil or water. Also it increases the OM (organic matter) levels of the soil and creates a finer tilth. Plus it enhances soil life (worm activity etc.).
Something worth mentioning is that grass is the main food for cattle in Europe, not like US where ground corn is the food for cattle
Why a 6215R? Are the European restrictions on road widths that strict that a 7R or 8R would not work? I find it hard to believe that a 6R could deliver 215 hp to the ground, even if highly weighted and on tracks. Maybe the PTO work can help justify the power but I had a 7720 that we could push to 235 hp and we could never get all the power to the ground.
You have to understand our soils. You can see a lake in the background which is in connection to the North Sea. Our land is approximately 4m below sea level. This makes for a very high water table. The soils can't take a lot of weight, especially with high value crops such as (seed) potatoes, onions, carrots and tulip bulbs which this farm grows. A 7R or 8R would be far to heavy. The track system already weighs a lot. This combination has a large footprint but still weighs 20 tonnes. On my channel you can also see a 240 hp Fendt pulling an even bigger plough. The 6215R handles it with great ease and 0% wheel slip. The tracks grip under any condition. Hope this helps to explain it a little.
It's not the US anymore mate, in the US (which I'm guessing you are from???) You can run a 7 8 or even a 9R because it's so vast, dry, and the soils are sandy and not as much of a heavy soil, I am from new zealand and we have very heavy soils similar to the video, it is alot more practical to be running a smaller machine in terms of road use and getting through gateways etc, 6Rs are very versatile compared with a bigger 7 or 8 and yes, you can easily get the power to the ground, even with wheels and tyres
Who is the producer of the blue cultivator/harrow?
VSS Agro
What you sow in different seasons??
Potatoes.
How long did it take to remove stones?😊
We don't have stones here.
@@Agrifotodotnl you should see stones in our farm land here where I live 😊

How many hours it made ?
About 1.000 hours per year.

I never even knew they made four track conversions for john deere.
Dutch company Zuidberg builds specialist track conversions for most common makes such as John Deere, Case IH, Fendt etc.
Hmm,cool. Thx for replying.
They do now check out the 8rx with four tracks systems.
looks better than the new 8rx.
Nice small tracks too, not oversized and sticking way out
