  • From the moment she was born Deb's life was hard. Unwanted and raised in a home where her mother suffered from mental illness, Deb's childhood was very dark and lonely.
However, at her lowest points God was with her, and as a young adult, He led her half way across the world on an incredible journey to find the truth and light of the gospel.

I first met Deb at grammar school in 1965. We both took art, then history of art. Although I knew Deb came from a large family, I was not aware of her struggles, which she kept well hidden. I last saw Deb in the 70's before I emigrated to Canada. We reconnected through the internet several years ago. Her story is an inspiration.

I cant get enough of Deb!! What a remarkable woman of strength, intelligence and perseverance! I love England and her ability to take us back in time with her descriptive words. She should be an author. She's incredible! I'm on the edge of my seat! And I'm a lover of Jane Austen and have all her books. This guest is a jewel!

Deb I want a cottage in your neighborhood in heaven! Made of river rock, a wild English flower garden, and acres of Aspen and pine. Don't forget the rambling winding brook.

Bless you for your generous comment. I look forward to having you as my neighbor. We could grow vegetables as well.
I became an author at age 59 and have written two books. One a biography and the second about my recovery from bipolar disorder without drugs. I was mentally ill for a half century and am 21 years recovered this month February 2024. 😊

@@debfryer2437 My family has clinical depression so I really related with your story. The many miracles in your story that brought you to a knowledge of the restored gospel and halfway around the world was inspiring. And John Denver was one of our favorite singers. Interesting experience hearing about his entourage. Not surprising.
We love the older shows put out by BBC. Downton Abbey, Little Dorrit, and Larkrise to Candleford. Love the scenery and mystery of England. Lovely country in the primitive times. Maybe even still.

@@sherigraham3873 Mental illness is a terrible thing. I began my recovery 12 February 2003. I started writing my book about my journey on the same day in 2014 and it was published in September of that year. This story too was laden with miracles.

I have known Deb for many years. We first met in London, in the 80's, when we both attended Hyde Park Ward.
Watching this highlighted and reinforced what I already know about her; that she is a strong and tenacious woman, a survivor, with many talents and skills, not least of which is her story telling and communication skills. Deb's review of key events in the first half of her life are told in great, descriptive detail. Some of her comments made discussing scenes of early life and childhood in England I could well relate to, being English myself and born in the same year as Deb.
But what stood out most for me, and inspired me, was that, despite the telling of many trials and hardships in her life, a strong core of hope and faith shines through. I especially enjoyed her powerful assertion of faith at the end. Thanks Deb.
