Drone footage showing the damage left behind to a Hampton Inn area located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma after the same tornado that rampaged through Barnsdall entered the city thankfully on a weakening trend. This video shows why its so important to seek shelter and to stay away from windows as 2x4s were stuck into the walls like spears

The impaled 2x4s are the reason safe rooms have to meet certain standards.

Someone else posted video earlier of them standing there in the front door to that hotel right when the tornado it. They barely had time to run and hide behind the front desk.

I feel like that image alone to determine what level tornado this was. That and the fact it wiped half the town off the map.

That tornado moved so fast! I watched Ryan Hall's stream last night and it seemed like maybe only a couple of minutes between it's going to hit and it's hitting the town now. The guys filming the tornado hitting this Hampton Inn last night are lucky to be alive and unharmed! Sending prayers for everyone affected!

Thank you LSM! I was worried about a bald eagle nest on the property of the Sutton Avian Research
Center in Bartlesville, when I heard the town was hit. I always worry about the wildlife during these
storms and this nest in Bartlesville currently has triplets babies on it but thankfully the nest was not
hit and they are perfectly fine! Thank you for all you do Brett, & team LSM! Hugs ❤

Just looked at Google Maps street view, yep, in September 2022 it was standing other side of SE Kentucky Street from hotel and right behind a fire hydrant.

No wonder it was so loud in the video they posted. Shame it gave its life for those two guys to completely ignore it and barely get away in time; and only just.

I initially estimated this tornado to probably be at EF-2 strength when it moved through Bartlesville. However, the wood planks being embedded into the hotel wall is more suggestive of a tornado at EF-3 strength.

Thankfully it looks like it weakened before hitting Bartlesville and only brought EF2 damage (from the looks of it) compared to Barnsdall with could be EF3+ to Low End EF4.

Looks like the super cell colliding with the squall line before it reached Bartlesville caused it to weaken.. Thank god.

This was a violent tornado. Those wooden beams are lodged into the side of the building, homes and buildings were leveled, metal was twisted in giant balls. I would be surprised if they listed this as anything less than an E4 tornado.
