All these months later, and now im having the same problem since the recent update, it happened before when the game was still in beta around the time of an update if i remember correctly. Now its with my silver Turkoman, still i'll go to the fence today, and buy this pamphlet, and try it out. Thanks for this vid, i hope it works and isnt another game bug, but i think it probably is, ive reported it on feedback, havent heard anything back, but still its worth having this pamphlet, it'll pay for its self as the months go on. Yes it is a bug. I had 3 horses for quite awhile with no problem then suddenly one is always malnourished. If I keep playing that horse anyway without switching to a healthy horse then eventually my horse returns to normal but another horse in the stable randomly becomes malnourished and looses all its cores. If you own more horses, more horses are effected by the bug. If you have this bug and buy a new horse, that horse arrives in your stable malnourished with all all red cores! I have submitted tickets to rockstar and each time they respond that they know about the problem, other people report it as well and that they are currently trying to find a fix. I’ve seen reports of this bug going back to October so I’m not holding my breath for it to be fixed anytime soon.
CRT Mojo yeah well when the bug first hit I was constantly feeding my horse, Rufus.. I’d load it up on hay and could actually see the stamina core drain as I was standing there. I fed it like 30 bales of hay and when the bug switched over to the horse in my stable Rufus instantly went from malnourished to overweight! haha.
After a few months of testing the cause of the dead core has been discovered. You cannot own a horse in all the stables. As soon as I discard a horse the one with dead core is fixed. So as long as you leave the last stall or one stall empty you should be good. Just waiting till they patch this to buy more horses.
Afro Pro yeah it's me Perlino Andalusian that has the problem. As soon as I buy the palomino dapple for 6 gold; the perlino goes dead core. As soon as I sell the palomino the perlino is fine. I thought it was a food and exercise issue so I kept the horse out for a couple of hours of free roam but it always comes out dead core and malnourished. There was an issue early on in beta where this happened to more the one horse. Just one more bug in the stable to fix. Almost there.
Yeah it’s a weird bug from long ago that still pops up on occasion. One of our friends sold every horse and started over. I left the last stable empty for 2 weeks and let the updates correct it. Rockstar also increased the amount of food that your character and your horse need also. Check your player stats in the menu and make sure the horse isn’t thin or malnourished for best performance. I had a malnourished horse about a week ago. It takes about 7 or 8 pieces of food and about 10 to 15 minutes to get them back in shape.
Spent the $490 on the special medicine 3 and it didn't work . Tried 3 times. Horse is always malnourished no matter what medicine I give it or how much I feed it. It started when I brought it out of the stable. It went into the stable healthy and came out permanently malnourished. It's a dabble fox trotter, an expensive horse.
I did some more investigating. Bought another horse. Software only allows one horse to be fit. The other 2 are permanently malnourished. Kill one then whistle another and a malnourished horse will come to you fit.
t barr I am having the same issue. My Dutch warmblood and American paint are always malnourished once they go on the barn. Turk Oman no problems. I also tried the 400 horse meal. At this point I think it's a bug in the code. I will try killing the horse next and calling it back in.
Nombrissimo II yeah it's intended to be a super health cure. But since the beta still has code issues it doesn't work all the time. Once Rockstar patches and launches the full game all tier 3 crafting should be flawless.
I tried this multiple times, didnt work. Right now i have 4 horses, 2 of them are always malnourished. At this very moment my Fox Trotter (set as free roam horse) and Nokota Reverse Dapple Roan (set as race horse) are the ones that are ok, and the Turkoman Dark Bay & Ardennes Strawberry Roan (set as mission & competitive horse) are always malnourished. I used to have my Turkoman as my mission horse, and it started being malnourished after i used it in a mission, and when i spent enough time with it in free roam i eventually got it to normal, but then my Fox Trotter would be malnourished. Eventually after countless hours, restarts, changing sessions etc i got my Fox Trotter back to normal but my Turkoman was bugged again (argh!). So I thought i could solve it by buying a 4th horse and forcing it to be the malnourished one, but i cant find a way to have my Fox Trotter & Turkoman (my 2 favorite horses) both being ok. When mine are malnourished it wont show the 2 extra notches of speed & acceleration in the horsewheel, and in the horsemenu under player it always say o% core remaining, and the saddle stats (regen rate, drain rate etc does not work) even if i keep feeding it for hours. I hope they fix this the next update bc having at least 2 good horses is crucial, specially when u invested so much money & gold in them.
Eric The Bro Bean! I hear ya. We are all hoping that this is fixed this month with the update. The only thing I have found that fixes the health is what you described; free roam for about an hour. But once they go into the stable they go back to malnourished. It's probably an error in the code so save your best horses.

Eric The Bro Bean! My posse is counting down the days. I discarded two horses that cost gold. 20 bars worth. I won't make that mistake again. I can't wait for the blip update. I think there should be hardcore mode where nobody shows up except friends and posse members.
Im thinking its a bug in the code. Ive seen so many ups and downs in the health of different horses; at this point it makes no sense. So I dont think its part of the game. Just a glitch. Keep your best horses till after the full game. Maybe you will like them even more.

Only feed it when you have to and play normally, eventually your horse will return to normal and a stabled horse will be bugged. From what I’ve read so far it’s effecting all horses. I’ve tried switching saddles and jumping into other sessions and killing my horse and buying new horses and using tonics and horse meal. nothing works.
hey y’all. Me again. The way I see it, there’s two things you can do: 1) go to rockstar support and submit a ticket letting them know you are effected by the horse core bug. 2) go to red dead redemption 2 feedback page and let them know they need to find a fix. I’ve heard back from like 4 different support peeps and they all say the same thing.. sorry it happened to me, it’s effecting other players too, they know about the problem, they are trying to find a fix, they have nothing new to report at this time. Keep hitting them up to fix this. We are wasting our money and gold.
Happened to me twice, first a gold tukomen (deleted), now my black arabian (tried special medicine and special stimulant), still nothing. Both times they were in my number 5 stall.
King A there's is still a bug on some of the horses. I had to sell my gold bar horse to try and get rid of the issue on my last stall. I bought another horse and it had the same problem. Rockstar is slowly correcting these errors each week with new patches. All of my horses are fixed except for the last stall.

scoopbrady it took me 2 hours of free roam feeding and care to get back to fit.

Doesn't work. Spent 40 gold bars on new tukerman an ever time I fast travel its low health and stamina. Frustrating..

Trevor B I still had to feed the horse one more time to fill the cores. Hay and carrots are the best. Hay is the cheapest.

For me it was stall 4. As long as I keep one stall empty it clears up each time.
Same for me stable 4😒 No change even after the"update" collector, trader, bounty Hunter. Makes me not even want to buy a new horse.
