Thanks John very helpful great job
Very thorough and informative! Top job John!
Thanks 👍🏻
Thank you John. I found it interesting to see your collection and hear all about the tech specs. I would love incorporated in one of your videos tips to keep your bike safe whilst, say, parked up outside the shop. etc.
That video is coming soon, all about bike accessories and safety.
@@GadgetJohn thank you. I am looking forward to it.
Nice one John, a good explanation and guide to a great choice of e-bikes 🙂
Excellent and clever video John, cheers!
Many thanks!
Excellent video John! This was really informative and has helped my decision making re which bike to get as I've been looking at several of these bikes recently. Thank you! 😀
Glad it was helpful!
That was hugely informative John ; you really do these reviews so well. Will you touch on battery safety in a future bike update as it seems fire safety officers are becoming concerned with the increase in battery fires.
Thanks for sharing. All the best to you and particularly, Mandy.
Batteries are 100% safe, it's the user that's the issue. As long as you use the charger supplied with your bike then you'll be fine.
Very interesting, I am looking forward to your "extras" video. As I have told you already, I bought the Hygge bike, Can you maybe tell/show how to fit the throttle and maybe explain all the things on the control panel. Lots of things on it I really don't know/ (understand) . I am very pleased with the bike and like the fat tyres. Thank you again for sharing all these videos. ATB
Thank you for a great video. We are thinking of a buying an e bike as a family one to use in the van. We range from 5’5” to 5’10” but overwhelmed with the choice. We work in a brand new office building with purpose built huge bike store with showers, hot cabinets for drying and storage for helmets etc The only thing is e bikes are prohibited as they can’t get insurance to store them ! It’s a minefield and so much choice out there at not inconsiderable cost. I thought the throttle ones were not legal here and you are supposed to disconnect them in the UK or have I got confused (doesn’t take much to do that)
It’s 100% legal if the throttle only powers the bike to walking pace without peddling. But the law is changing and soon it’ll be fine using throttle without peddling.
Interesting vlog and such a choice. Where do you store them all? 😊 I chose a Giant Roam e bike due to the hybrid style and larger wheels. Very happy with it.
I rented a unit to store them in order to make this video. I only have 1 of these bikes myself, the rest are now gone.
Thanks for providing this useful insight into the myriad of options with eBikes 🤯
Am looking forward to your upcoming episode on panniers etc. as that is key to our future use case - hopefully replacing one of our cars with an eBike for local shopping runs. But does say a 24" wheel give the required road clearance for a decent size pannier...? Also have you tried towing a trailer with any of these bikes ?
Anyway keep up the great reviews, and I hope that Mandy is doing ok with her treatment... 🙏 ATB
Anything over a 20 inch wheel is fine with panniers on the back and I haven't used a trailer myself but I have seen other use them and they fit to any of the bikes shown.
I enjoyed that John, thank you. I guess each bike has its niche considering the range of different applications for terrain, distance and carrying capacity, but out of this wide range of bikes, which would you think of as the best all-rounder? Or putting it another way, which would be your go to bike to load up for a touring holiday/adventure covering many different terrains? 👋🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇦
It’s 50 / 50 between the new Mirider & the hygge vester. I’ll see if Mirider can put together a package more suited to the rough track adventures I prefer, until then the bike that’s in my van is the hygge.
I have watched your videos John but what’s better at going up hills in your opinion, the red Engwe engine x or the pvy z20 max with that dual battery, thanks.
Very interesting comparisons John. We have a motorhome with no garage so looking to add a bike rack on the rear wall or a tow bar version for 2 bikes. How much weight is saved by removing the batteries for transportation as obviously the racks have weight limits?
The batteries weigh between 4kg and 10 kg, depending on the battery range.
Hi
Is the pvy pro max up for sale?
Great vid
Thanks
There's a link in the video description to each bikes review and within those individual review videos you can find the purchase links and any discount codes.
nice vid ebike keep up the vid you do on channel lee
Thanks 👍
Morning John, When riding the different size bikes, is there any difference between wheel size and tyres in control or stability. Tony
The bigger the wheel the better the stability generally, it depends how confident you are, tyres are mostly the same until get onto mud or harsh gravel.
You’re missing a few sizes & designs…no purple, brown, yellow…?
Thanks for sharing.
My ideal bike would be cargo style, so i can go to cheaper supermarkets to lower my food budget. I can't walk as far as i used to, due to bad ankle and knee.
That's a really good point, so having the rear rack with panniers would be ideal.
Engwe do a nice cargo style bike, the L20 , it has a rack at the front and back, step through so easy to get on and off
Most of the fat tyre bikes are cargo bikes.
You didn't mention the motor power.
Because it’s irrelevant, I’ve had 250w up to 2000w and they’re the same.
Nice selection of bikes ..... tho it does remimd me of shopping for a pair of shoes with my EX GIRLFRIEND 🤣
Love that! 🤣
Hi john have sold the himiway bike yet
Not yet, I have 1 more video to film which includes that bike, so should be up for sale early July.
@GadgetJohn hi john I'm interested in the himiway a7 Pro I'm full time in my van but work in Gainsborough when I'm not travelling. I'm in Normandy until 17th June. Would it be OK if I came to stop at willow fields I could try the bike also how much are you asking for it cheers Chris
That’s fine, message me on instagram or send me an email
