You finally convinced me and I used your link to purchase some wood. Thank you for the video, I really look forward to seeing how your scape develops over time.
Thanks for the support! Stay tuned for the planting video and I’ll be sure to keep filming updates on the tank. I have a feeling people will want to see how that many fish get along. 😁
Thank you so much for this video. I have wondered what I would get in a box of rocks/wood. I'm no longer hesitant about ordering them. I'm already thinking about my next scape.
Lauren aquarium soil is great! I have it in my relatively new tank...I am curious how all their other stuff will be...I had no idea they had so much variety!! Great looking stuff, quality I see! Ready to check out your new masterpiece!!!
Thank you. Landen is evolving into a great company IMO. They are nearly a one stop shop for quality stuff, whilst a little more expensive, They are targeting those seeking high-quality stuff at a decent price. Easiest way to see all their products is at landenaqua.com.
Quite like the dual 'island' concept. Can't wait to see the planting video, especially for the gap in the rocks at the base of the wood, in the right side island. At this point, it's driving me to distraction. Another rock flowing outwards towards the centre, another piece of wood looking like roots, carpeting plant around the wood flowing out through the gap......? Understandably, those of us watching from Canada are excluded for draws from US RUclipsrs, due to excessive shipping charges, which makes sense. Looking forward to see the end results.
Thanks for the compliments! I am not excluding anyone from the giveaway. If you’re selected I will be covering the shipping costs. Whether or not customs throws the package in the trash is a different story. 🤷🏼♂️
Looks great!! But one major issue, no plants with so much nutrients leaching out is going to cause a major algae issue especially if you have your light on. I'd recommend sealing off the aquarium from all light (Garbage bag super useful here) for the next 4 weeks and just let you biological filter to setup and reduce the ammonia content in the water. After 4 weeks you can do a 90% water change along with planting. It's called dark start method and there will definetly be better steps on the process. Apologies if you mentioned it and I totally missed it in the video (I did hear you say till the wood gets done with the white fungus/biofilm stage but not sure about the light etc).
With me trying to cut down the total length of this large build video, I did edit a bunch of stuff out of the final video. I have unplugged the lights, and I am also doing daily/bi-daily water changes to pull the ammonia out and assist in keeping the water parameters correct. With no plants or livestock in there, I can do 50% water changes without having to worry too much about any adverse effects. 🤘
I don't know how you do it but every time you start a scape it looks like it's going to be a disaster then all of a sudden it comes together. Looks great so far and I think I am going to get some landen magic in my next few scapes.
Yes. The frame adds stability to the long glass walls. But trimming the inside edge of the frame, and in a corner, won’t have any effect on the outside perimeter of the frame; which is where the pressure is. The center brace is actually the most important part of the frame and is what normally fails over time (plastic aging). But if for some reason it does burst, it’ll make a great RUclips video! 🤣
I glued everything together with paper towel and liquid superglue, some gel superglue in spots, and some aquarium epoxy in other spots (ran out of superglue). I didn’t add the footage to keep the video flowing and as short as possible.
I love big tank small fish setups. I recently did an aquarium for our local children's museum with a 75-gallon community aquarium.
That’s awesome! This will be my first large community tank so we’ll see if my fish selections work well.
Loving the scape ...the spider wood really works ...great videos as well
Thank you!
Smack 1 demolished, 3 mini ice cream sandwiches 😋 lol. Can't wait to see the end result 👍🏼👍🏼
It was definitely a 4 snack length video! 🤣

When will you be sponsored by a national hamburger chain? I still want my cheeseburger, fries and diet coke tank.
Put in a good word for me at Whataburger. That would be my preference for fast food burgers. 🤣

Thank you. I just get lucky and the pieces always fit together nice and make me look like I know what I am doing. 🤣
Hear me out… dragon valley v3 in a 5-15 gallon cube tank with a dope looking betta as a centre piece
I actually have two 6g cube tanks that I’ll be doing scapes in soon. Dragon stone with a special plant surprise it is!! 🤘🤘🤘
@@ssaquascapes sounds great! I’ll have to tune in
Isn’t that frame around the tank for stability? Don’t you break that by cutting into it, risking bowing and leaks?
Yes. The frame adds stability to the long glass walls. i might have missed it but did you glue anything in spot? or is everything freestanding?
I glued everything together with paper towel and liquid superglue, some gel superglue in spots, and some aquarium epoxy in other spots (ran out of superglue). I didn’t add the footage to keep the video flowing and as short as possible.
