Most Sleep Token songs are in 4/4 but the drummer (called II) transposes the 1 a LOT. He likes to drag the 1 behind the beat, but then other times plays the 1 ahead of the beat for urgency. sometimes he does that in patterns to give the appearance of a crazy time signature. But because he's almost always 4/4 that's why his drums have so much groove.
I will watch every Sleep Token video you make, literally every one. This band is amazing and from watching your other videos and getting a sense for your likes, I think you will really enjoy their music. Song suggestions, there are so many good songs it is hard to narrow down but some favorites are Ascensionism, Euclid, Take me Back to Eden, Rain, Atlantic, Apparition, Atlantic to name just a few of many many great songs

A few times you couldn’t help yourself but to grin because music can sometimes be repetitive and predictable but this song hooks you and takes you for a ride at its own pace that you don’t expect, start to finish. currently learning the drumset part and its amazing how they can slow down a part but go into a sped up part instantly after and stay in time and the 4/4 to 6/8 time just makes sense when it needs to its a very intresting and challenging song

Great video. As to the time signature the drummer, II, did a drum explanation on Drumeo. He said that the time is actually 4/4 but he plays triplets over that time so it sounds more off beat than it is but still lets him return to the 4/4 by the end for that groove part.
That chorus was so good it made her switch to speaking english lol I love ST and I have a feeling you will too. Check out Take me Back to Eden, Ascensionism, Apparition, Rain, and Euclid. All off the same album (their most recent) and incredible. All their previous albums are just as good too! ST just doesnt miss.

Sleep token is usually in 4/4 but the drummer plays a lot of triplets so it's sometimes hard to count. They are amazing live. I saw them at red rocks in Colorado. It was an experience.
Excellent recommendation, seeing as some opinions might lean towards other songs for musical reasons, but Alkaline makes the most sense for a Vocal Coach to react to. His vocal work in that song is just insane, along with the bonus of having amazing lyrics.
I think aqua regia or ascensionism are other good ones for vocals. He just does a lot of interesting things with inflection and the way he says different words.
So, I would highly recommend you react to Take me back to Eden as your next Sleep Token reaction. The Summoning is great don’t get me wrong but it only scratches the surface of the different genres and complexities within their music. I am highly curious what your trained, artistic and intelligent perspective would be on that song :) Btw, your description of his vocal techniques especially concerning mouth position is fascinating. Such small things can create such dramatic change.
Welcome to the wild ride that is Sleep Token! They're a rabbit hole you will be happy to go down ... very deeply. Oh, and they're only two people. Vessel I and Vessel II. Vessel I does everything but drums, and Vessel II does drumming. They have tour musicians to fill the other instruments, but in-studio, it's only I and II.
There is a video of their live at Red Rocks Morrison, 2024 with great quality(4k) if you would like to check it out. I highly recommend Atlantic and Hypnosis for a reaction.

Не, пение это всё прикольно, но лингвистика интереснее, вам наверное нет, хотя вы же гуманитарий, а я вообще технарь, но мне это пища для ума, а это всё эмоции, мало и редко интересно, хотя там тоже разработаны целые подходу, даже к голосу их пытаются применять, к гармонии, к нотам, к звучанию инструментов, к их комбинированию и компоновке, но только не к голосу, он не может быть стабильным, он много от чего зависим, и это инструмент всё таки не духовой, там всё сложнее, он вам через день споёт иначе. Интересно, если немцы от слова немые, то финны должны быть по-любому от слова заика, чередование длинных гласных с короткими, на славянский слух намеренно в случайном порядке, это "р-р-р-р", не, и я так могу, уверяю лучше чем любой шотландец, но это как-то не так, это как-то чересчур, а у меня в загашнике мягкая "р" есть, пусть будет без кавычек р', да, её там тоже ревеберируй сколько душе угодно, но правильно будет два-три стресса, ну для эмоции в окончании или середине слова ну пускай много больше, для начала надо ещё найти такое слово и такую эмоцию))) не имею ввиду ваше ближайшее окружение именно балтских финских языков, но в ваших ближайших родственниках мордовских такого "ротацизма" прям нет, там всё спокойнее. Не, пение это всё прикольно, но лингвистика интереснее, вам наверное нет, хотя вы же гуманитарий, а я вообще технарь, но мне это пища для ума, а это всё эмоции, мало и редко интересно, хотя там тоже разработаны целые подходу, даже к голосу их пытаются применять, к гармонии, к нотам, к звучанию инструментов, к их комбинированию и компоновке, но только не к голосу, он не может быть стабильным, он много от чего зависим, и это инструмент всё таки не духовой, там всё сложнее, он вам через день споёт иначе.

Почалось, вы на прослушке у кого-то, сейчас будут названивать и вскрывать соцсети "друзья" англо-украинские. И так всегда, я не понимаю почему хотя бы Англию нельзя выключить из этого процесса, это же отборное ничто.
