He's pointing them out to almost showcase an image of how someone could know all your weaknesses and take advantage of it in the game of love. To put it as simply as I could imagine at least. Anything you've ever loved is essentially what Sleep Token speak loudly about and I'm always reeled in for that.
Here's the brief Sleep Token story. The singer (Vessel) was in a really toxic relationship with a previous musical partner. It all went bad and he funneled the raw emotion into three albums about that and the way he dealt with that pain. He decided to mask up because he thought the music was more important than the person singing it. He decided on a mythos surrounding the band saying that an ancient God named Sleep contacted him in a dream and that each song is an offering to that deity. It's really just a metaphor for this healing journey he's been on. So if you are looking for song meanings just assume they are about a past relationship that went bad or they are being sung to an Old God...lol Vessel and the drummer (ii) write all the songs and in the studio it's just them with Vessel playing everything but drums for the most part. They have other members when they tour who spice things up in their own way. They're generally anonymous but their identities are out there if you go searching and you can find Vessel's earlier band, but I think that they would rather stay as anonymous as possible. For their latest albums, each song has an avatar which is what you see in the video so there's no real backstory for them yet. They are really varied in their musical genres, sometimes within an individual song. Most of their songs are amazing but it depends on what you are into. Most don't go full heavy screaming but there are a couple. I'd suggest Chokehold, Take Me Back to Eden, and Ascenionism from this latest album. You really can't go wrong and you'll find a lot of melodic songs especially on their first two albums.
Vessel is the only singer. He has an incredible vocal range. He can go from screaming to swooning your socks off all in the same song😂 a good song to hear his range and talent is "Take Me Back to Eden".
The whole discography is wild and is a story. It all has Easter eggs. It's all so good.Yall should hear the live drum solo in this song! There's lore. All the album covers have codes and messages. There's live messages. There was one interview in 2017 with vessel that set up the story line and then the next was recent with ii on drumeo.
Sleep Token is something either that completely hooks you and drags you under like a riptide, or it doesn't. They're an incredibly complicated mix of cult worship, conspiracy theory, and musical enigma. I love watching elevated individuals react to them, because it's a mindf*ck when you're stone cold sober. Elevated individuals either are instantly entranced and enthralled or completely confused and turned off. You guys are a perfect mix of both.
From one stoner to another let them take you on a journey. Everyone’s journey will be different. You lol be here for the ride of yours Euclid is a good one. But i would suggest starting from album 1 and going all the way through

Watch Drumeo presents an offering from ii, The Summoning he plays the luve version where he adds a drum solo. We're a very forgiving fsn base. I enjoyed your interpretation of the visualizer and the looks of confusion when the song went funk.
Ok so for this album all the videos are are just these different gods. Imagine a big temple with individual rooms each having their own god in it. I think there are 7 gods in total, one you never see which is the top of the pantheon.
From a fellow stoner, I love the vibes here. Sleep Token would be a great journey to watch unfold with the dynamic you both have. With one of you being more embracing of the heavy, and the other more keen on the melodic/atmospheric tones, this band will give you all of it. I’ve seen people who are a little less nuanced in metal not take to the summoning right away… I think it may be the wonky time signatures. I think ascensionism or the apparition on this same album would be a good choice next. The apparition is a little shorter and more straight forward… ascensionism if you still want the longer proggy feel, but it’ll still be a little more fine tuned to what I believe the guy in the blue would jam to. Actually at their core both Sleep token and Coheed see similar in the fact the they’re both what you could call a concept band. As opposed to a concept album, all sleep token does is tell a singular story across all their albums, coheed does the same thing, except for one album.
You definitely should check out the video from Drumeo that their drummer II has. If you like their drummer. I personally think he is amazing. There is a video that roughly an hour long with multiple songs. But there is one of just the summoning that i highly recommend. Also for more songs i recommend Take me back to Eden and Ascensionism. For an older song check out The Offering. Definitely subscribing for more.
