Since you are doing out of bounds skips, there are a good number of them you didn't take advantage of. For 0-2, you only need to do the final arena, as you can get out of bounds in the second room. For 1-1, there is a deload allowing you to skip to the final arena, however I forget whether you are required to do the 6 drone arena. The current nomow record for 1-1 uses this deload. In 2-4, you can skip the hand without a railcannon, I'm pretty sure it requires a dive but it's not too bad otherwise. Check out the nomow run to see it. For 3-1, there is an out of bounds right at the start, you can get out using the first door, skipping all but the last arena, so no need to spend time killing stuff with acid, and no need to kill the 3 cerbs. (this one is unrelated to oobs) For 4-2, with how you are doing it you actually can't skip the skulls. You need the whiplash to skip them, and you are doing it as a NG thing. For 5-1, you can skip the first arena. There is an out of bounds in the first area, and you can jump over the trigger for starting that arena. For 5-2, you coulda just watched an any% speedrun. What you gotta do is pretty simple, although I haven't played the game outside of 2-1 in like 5 months so I forget exactly what it is. From my hazy memory, I think you quickly stand on top of the door in the arena that leads to the skull room, wait for the streetcleaner to come about to the door, then reset to checkpoint. Now when you go into the room, the door will be open, and you can just barely whiplash the skull. In 5-3, you can skip the arenas by sliding into a broken door *just* right. It's super fucky, check the nomow record to see it in action. For 7-1, you can skip at least one arena, as you can grab skulls and go through the door if you know how to. I don't, I haven't speedran violence like, at all, as I am addicted to 2-1. You can also skip the minotaur kill, again, forget how, just know it's possible. For 7-3, you can skip all but the last arena, as there is an out of bounds in the first arena, so you don't have to kill the stragglers. For 7-4? Yeah I got no clue. All I know about that level is some really fucking stupid clash mode bullshit, outside of that I have only played the level once, and don't pay attention to the speedruns. The required number of kills is a bunch lower than what you found. You mentioned it being surprisingly high, but that's because the number you got is wrong.
for my low% routing I got the total kills down to 238, but without the additional restrictions you can skip an additional 38, bringing the total down to 200 exactly this is ignoring secret exits, which can bring it down to 126
for 7-1 you can go oob before killing any enemies and skip to the minotaur, and you can skip the second minotaur fight by riding a rocket at a precise angle and going through the door before it closes
Actually in 0-5 theres a way to get 0 killed enemies and level challenge sais about that its to let cerberus kill eachother with damage of their own explosions
actually you dont need to kill the 2 cerberus in 0-5 the challenge is pretty much you getting them low enough to blow themselves up by throwing an orb at their feet
also with my luck if I tried to do 4-2 fighting only the insurrectionist, it'd despawn again making 4-2 a bugged 0 kill. I still can't believe the first time I got to this level the insurrectionist just didn't spawn whatsoever.

You could've made the Insurrectionist kill itself on the glass panels in 4-2, lowering the kill count to 37 Also you could not count V2 in 4-4 as it dies by falling on the floor
you caused her death, you literally disabled her through brutal force to the point of her not being able to embracing the fall by herself. You just can't push someone out of a cliff and say "I'm not responsible"

gabe 2 is an actual pushover. me, someone with the shittiest possible hand-eye coordination, who hasn't played the gabe 2 fights in a month or two (which i sornt playing cyber grind), p-ranked him in about 4 tries after re-learning him or perhaps we've just grown as a player
Fitting for Lust, the layer built from a renaissance of peace and mercy to built an ideal peaceful society to have the least kills out of all the other layers
Checkpoints help a lot. the trick you didn´t know in 5-2 makes you kill the enemies, go back to the checkpoint, then just barely whiplash the blue skull, go back again, go backwards and jump over the rest of the level. some other levels have similar tricks (and ofc some oob stuff, in the end you can get below 150 kills) also... the brain kinda just dies if you reach it from the outside, I don´t know if that was patched or not. and you can whiplash even more enemies into environmental hazards.
For the start of 0-4, you can kill the strays, then the Maurice will spawn, and you'll just have to wait for the Maurice's charge attack and use that to kill the filth.
Counterpoint: Cat% My buddy and I have been trying to figure out for a while pretty much the exact same thing, but instead count the amount of museum KITRs you have to spawn in to get the required kills, which adds an extra snag because its pathing is really stupid at times, so usually it can't pass through doors and has a lot of trouble with flying enemies. Could be a fun follow-up
You can skip the spawn trigger for the first room in 0-4 by using a rocket clip. This makes 0-4 possible in 0 kills. Also in 4-2 you can get the insurectionist to kill himself by dropping him in the pit You can also complete 5-2 in inly 1 kill by standing on the door as the enemies load and then respawning to make the door glitch and open, ans then without touching the spawn trigger you can use the whiplash to grab the blue skull Also in 7-3, after filling up the first blood tree, go back to the start and you can clip out of bounds and then make your way to the finale of the level, skipping the 2 blood trees. Also in 5-1, you can skip the first encounter by using the WR oob clip at the very start next to the valve, and then nuke yourself to the encounters after the locked door.
I don't know how many times this happens, but required rooms with just cerbs can be cleared without V1 *personally* killing them. They're vulnerable to their own orbs, so you can bait the attack, then get close to them and they'll self damage. It's actually the challenge on 0-5 to not personally deal the killing blow to either cerb. At the very least, you can knock off 5 kills from the grand total.
the leviathan, according to the game's lore, is an amalgamation of lost souls in the river styx, so if you are counting it, it might add up to hundreds of kills.
7-4 is actually only one, you can coat the head of the outside earthmover with oil and put it on fire, when the Benjamin tilts over to shoot the brain will go into this fire
There is a a way to skip some arenas in 7-1. What you need to do is after grabbing the skull, go to the skull pedestal by the alpha button, then stand with your back against the pedestal and and face the door. Pull out your rocket launcher, and jump and near the peak if your jump place a frozen rocket AIMED AT THE BLACK LINE ON THE FLOOR. Then look back at the pedestal, whip the skull and unfreeze the rocket at the same time, if timed correctly you can skip the arena with the Maurice, and then the Mind flayer arena. For the Second Door, after the Minotaur reveal, you need to walk up against the Pedestal, and then do the trick like before, because you dont have enough space otherwise.
Fun fact: in 0-4 you can kill 0 enemies, this is done with a weird glitch that I saw in the video titled “ULTRAKILL is beaten by 160 kills” or something like that
1) You can oob clip at the very beginning on 0-2 and skip the whole level except the final arena 2) You dont need to skip the rail lmao, just dive through the strays 3) you can skip everything except the final arena on 3-1 with a clip at the beginning 4) you cant actually do the skull skip on the 4-2 without whiplash, so you basically did everuthing right 5) theres a clip at the very very beginning of 5-1 that, again, allows you to skip the whole level except final arena 6) arena skip on the 5-2 is so shrimple, you just need to punch the streetcleaner to the door, reload checkpoint and the door will be open, you need to just grab the skull lo 7) there is also a clip at the very beginning of 6-1 allows you to skip the second encounter too 8) you can skip the whole 7-1 before the tram section by the clip at the beginning !! 9) there is also a clip at the beginning of 7-3 which allows you to kill only one enemy at the last arena 10) and you can skip the final arena too on 7-4 with the clip With all these things i think sub 300 enemies is a very possible goal for the run like that !!

You can also lure strays or other light enemies to edges and push them over with a punch. Surely its far lower if you dedicate your time to doing that. Edit: i just saw the part where you punched off the schism. And im confused on why you did it there but not in other levels.
this video's rules are weird in general. he counts the kills in 4-2 because of skill issue in not being able to do the grabbing skull skip, but then doesn't count pushing the schism for some reason. also he doesn't have strays friendly-fire each other at all? the 4-2 thing alone honestly makes me wish the video was titled "How Many Kills Do I Need to Beat Ultrakill?"; just because he can't do a single glitch but can do others doesn't mean it should affect the *objective statistic* that i'm sure everyone watching this video wanted. either all glitches/exploits in the game should count, or none should.
1. just go through the secret levels damn it 1a. in lust you can get 1 kill if you go through the secret level 1aa. you might need the blue skull in 2-3, which you can get without killing anyone using a glitch with the door 1b. you can bring the amount of kills in greed to 29 if you go through the secret level 2. use the knuckleblaster shockwave to push the streetcleaner towards the door, then go back to the previous checkpoint, carefully get the skull using the whiplash and make your way to the pedestal
You can get 0 kills in 0-2 by doing the same strategy as 0-1 you can get out of bounds in 1-1 by placing opening the red skull door, going to the hall way to the final room, and checkpointing while sliding backwards to stop to door infront of the checkpoint from opening, skipping the drone room kills You can slide clip oob in the first door of 3-1, and by activating the mouth doors in the pitfall to the cerberus room, you can get a roof to spawn, and use a slam storage dive to skip straight to the final room you can skip killing v2 by pausing to regain control while falling, then hitting the ground with an explosion as you land, which results in v2 never hitting the ground You can slide clip out by the first pipe right outside the door in 5-1, and go straight to the checkpoint for the final room, skipping the first two sentries as well as the first room You can skip the entirty of 5-3 by slidding through the crack in the door for the double skull secret, then slam storing to the final checkpoint, the two streetcleaners can be saved by pulling them out of the flooding room, making 5-3 take 0 kills You can rocket clip out at the start of 6-1, either after the first room for an easier clip, or before it for a nightmarishly hard one, which lets you skip straight to the final room You can rocket clip out at the start of 7-1 and skip straight to the minotaur, who you can also skip killing by rocket ridding in an arch into the exit door You can slide clip out of the first area of 7-3, and skip straight to the final room You can skip the final arena of 7-4 by rocket clipping out I personally routed a similar challenge, but for a low% run, which allows no weapon collections aside from the defualt revolver, no completed challenges or collected secret orbs, and counts ALL kills registered by the kill counter, not just ones made by you directly, and have got the total required kills down to 238, without those restrictions you can reduce it by another 38 kills, to a total of exactly 200 Edit: forgot to include secret exits, which can reduce it to 122
You can do 0 kills in 0-5 by getting both Cerberus to low health then grouping them together and getting one to shoot a ball at its feet, which kills both
Not sure if this has been pointed out but 5-1 has an earlier clip at the very beginning that would eliminate the kills from the skull room, you can skip the final area in 7-4 with a clip as well (you could also THEORETICALLY get zero kills in the left tree room in 7-3 by having a lesser enemy kill the mindflayer and have it die to it's explosion (but I understand thats likely a bit of trial and error ;3))
You could have drained the water for 2-3, it's tricky but in the blue skull room you can get the filth to jump off into the meat grinder, then have maurice blow up all enemies, leaving you with 2 drones, a maurice, and 2 street cleaners, then take the secret exit leaving you with 5 forced kills instead of 12. Still that's super optimizing and requires some good rng on Maurice's end.
Im pretty sure you can skip 1-1 using the secret exit by just going back to the menu after you complete the secret level. I accidently did it on my first playthrough I'm pretty sure
I personally don't like the "if enemies die to something that isn't you, then it doesn't count" rule. My main reasoning being that the enemy is still counted towards the kill count no matter how it died. It feels like that rule is only there to make the challenge easier.
even without that the kill count can be reduced to 200, they gave themself a massive handicap and still almost doubled the required amount for the challenge
i like your content and your playstyle. you are very skilled at this game and i doubt that i'll ever get close to where you currently are. the best thing i can do in ultrakill is p-ranking p-2 on brutal while you probably could p-rank p-3 on ultrakill must die at some point without wasting a lot of time on restarts. real g

In 0-5 you can damage the Cerberus but have them kill themselves with their orbs
I don't know how many times this happens, but required rooms with just cerbs can be cleared without V1 *personally* killing them. They're vulnerable to their own orbs, so you can bait the attack, then get close to them and they'll self damage. It's actually the challenge on 0-5 to not personally deal the killing blow to either cerb. At the very least, you can knock off 5 kills from the grand total.

the really heroic part of this challenge is beating most of ultrakill on brutal with no alt weapons or railgun
the leviathan, according to the game's lore, is an amalgamation of lost souls in the river styx, so if you are counting it, it might add up to hundreds of kills.
7-4 is actually only one, you can coat the head of the outside earthmover with oil and put it on fire, when the Benjamin tilts over to shoot the brain will go into this fire
you can just skip the insurrectionist fight by making him jump into the hole near the red skull that's covered by glass
Now, how many kills does it take to beat ultrakill IF it were a perfect scenario

There is a a way to skip some arenas in 7-1.
What you need to do is after grabbing the skull, go to the skull pedestal by the alpha button, then stand with your back against the pedestal and and face the door.
Pull out your rocket launcher, and jump and near the peak if your jump place a frozen rocket AIMED AT THE BLACK LINE ON THE FLOOR.
Then look back at the pedestal, whip the skull and unfreeze the rocket at the same time, if timed correctly you can skip the arena with the Maurice, and then the Mind flayer arena.
For the Second Door, after the Minotaur reveal, you need to walk up against the Pedestal, and then do the trick like before, because you dont have enough space otherwise.
Fun fact: in 0-4 you can kill 0 enemies, this is done with a weird glitch that I saw in the video titled “ULTRAKILL is beaten by 160 kills” or something like that
1) You can oob clip at the very beginning on 0-2 and skip the whole level except the final arena
2) You dont need to skip the rail lmao, just dive through the strays
3) you can skip everything except the final arena on 3-1 with a clip at the beginning
4) you cant actually do the skull skip on the 4-2 without whiplash, so you basically did everuthing right
5) theres a clip at the very very beginning of 5-1 that, again, allows you to skip the whole level except final arena
6) arena skip on the 5-2 is so shrimple, you just need to punch the streetcleaner to the door, reload checkpoint and the door will be open, you need to just grab the skull lo
7) there is also a clip at the very beginning of 6-1 allows you to skip the second encounter too
8) you can skip the whole 7-1 before the tram section by the clip at the beginning !!
9) there is also a clip at the beginning of 7-3 which allows you to kill only one enemy at the last arena
10) and you can skip the final arena too on 7-4 with the clip
With all these things i think sub 300 enemies is a very possible goal for the run like that !!

5:55 the reason why this is still in the game is because Hakita wanted it to be possible for a no-weapon run
You can also lure strays or other light enemies to edges and push them over with a punch. Surely its far lower if you dedicate your time to doing that.

1. just go through the secret levels damn it
1a. in lust you can get 1 kill if you go through the secret level
1aa. you might need the blue skull in 2-3, which you can get without killing anyone using a glitch with the door
1b. you can bring the amount of kills in greed to 29 if you go through the secret level
2. use the knuckleblaster shockwave to push the streetcleaner towards the door, then go back to the previous checkpoint, carefully get the skull using the whiplash and make your way to the pedestal
In 3-1, you can slam storage and just go over the eye to skip the enemies
the weird thing where you skip the railcannon in 2-2 is there so that a weaponless run is possible
You can get 0 kills in 0-2 by doing the same strategy as 0-1
you can get out of bounds in 1-1 by placing opening the red skull door, going to the hall way to the final room, and checkpointing while sliding backwards to stop to door infront of the checkpoint from opening, skipping the drone room kills
You can slide clip oob in the first door of 3-1, and by activating the mouth doors in the pitfall to the cerberus room, you can get a roof to spawn, and use a slam storage dive to skip straight to the final room
you can skip killing v2 by pausing to regain control while falling, then hitting the ground with an explosion as you land, which results in v2 never hitting the ground
You can slide clip out by the first pipe right outside the door in 5-1, and go straight to the checkpoint for the final room, skipping the first two sentries as well as the first room
You can skip the entirty of 5-3 by slidding through the crack in the door for the double skull secret, then slam storing to the final checkpoint, the two streetcleaners can be saved by pulling them out of the flooding room, making 5-3 take 0 kills
You can rocket clip out at the start of 6-1, either after the first room for an easier clip, or before it for a nightmarishly hard one, which lets you skip straight to the final room
You can rocket clip out at the start of 7-1 and skip straight to the minotaur, who you can also skip killing by rocket ridding in an arch into the exit door
You can slide clip out of the first area of 7-3, and skip straight to the final room
You can skip the final arena of 7-4 by rocket clipping out
I personally routed a similar challenge, but for a low% run, which allows no weapon collections aside from the defualt revolver, no completed challenges or collected secret orbs, and counts ALL kills registered by the kill counter, not just ones made by you directly, and have got the total required kills down to 238, without those restrictions you can reduce it by another 38 kills, to a total of exactly 200
Edit: forgot to include secret exits, which can reduce it to 122
my brother in CHRIST, you could make the insurectionist die to fall damage in 4-2!
in the first room of 0-2 you can push the strays into the grinder too. They don't die after 1 punch.

You can do 0 kills in 0-5 by getting both Cerberus to low health then grouping them together and getting one to shoot a ball at its feet, which kills both
You can 'friendly fire' every room
You forgot that you can make the insurrectionist jump into the pit on 4-2
Not sure if this has been pointed out but 5-1 has an earlier clip at the very beginning that would eliminate the kills from the skull room, you can skip the final area in 7-4 with a clip as well (you could also THEORETICALLY get zero kills in the left tree room in 7-3 by having a lesser enemy kill the mindflayer and have it die to it's explosion (but I understand thats likely a bit of trial and error ;3))
You could have drained the water for 2-3, it's tricky but in the blue skull room you can get the filth to jump off into the meat grinder, then have maurice blow up all enemies, leaving you with 2 drones, a maurice, and 2 street cleaners, then take the secret exit leaving you with 5 forced kills instead of 12.
Still that's super optimizing and requires some good rng on Maurice's end.
If you figure out a good position, you can beat 7-4 with only one kill
you dont have to kill the the two cerberuses, you can lower their health and let them blow eachother up.

I personally don't like the "if enemies die to something that isn't you, then it doesn't count" rule. My main reasoning being that the enemy is still counted towards the kill count no matter how it died. It feels like that rule is only there to make the challenge easier.
even without that the kill count can be reduced to 200, they gave themself a massive handicap and still almost doubled the required amount for the challenge

the best thing i can do in ultrakill is p-ranking p-2 on brutal while you probably could p-rank p-3 on ultrakill must die at some point without wasting a lot of time on restarts.

you don't have to kill the insurrectionist if you stay of the glass in the arena on the right and let him fall down the hole
The insurrrctionist could have killed himself by jumping into the pit on the glass panels next to the red skull
You can skip the insurrecitonist by makin him fall under the glass in front of red skull, just use wait till he jump after span and brake the glass he will fall in the pit and die himself 👀
