The weather was a little strange today with some sun, cloud and even a spot or two of rain, but it allowed us to have a longer walk.
We met lots of lovely people and received a review, from Lucy and Steve from Colchester, of the Tropico hotel.

It was great to meet you both.
So glad you bumped into Lucy and Steve who gave an honest opinion of the Tropico,also a good comparison because they had stayed there 15 times before. Steve didn’t look all that bothered but Lucy told it how it is, women notice the small things. Plastic glasses at lunch NO, around the pool I could understand. Prices up standards down, cost cutting. Anyway it’s good to know. Thanks Steve and Anita.
I was surprised by Lucy's comments. Hope the hotel can sort things out.

Loved this lady talking about her hotel Tropico. She sounded totally genuine when she explained the problems with the hotel. She wasn't nasty, just explained how she found it. It is the reviews that say brilliant about a hotel, that I doubt. I have seen many a recommended hotel to be a letdown. It is better to hear a not-so-good review to make you aware before you take your chances and book.
Lucy did give a honest review.
Great video and such a nice couple called Peter & Kaye at first i thought it was Louis Walsh then i thought it was Patrck Duffy

Their losing euros not having things ready and prepared and open for the holiday season won't be long till their removing boardwalks and boarding up premises. Cheers another great video .

With celebs visiting / buying on the island the prices are only going one way 👆👆👆,also the weather has been horrible here,so watch flights go up.
Thankfully we bought years ago so we are very very lucky,especially seeing you both always filming in palmanova so it speaks for itself.

I was also pleased the graffiti has gone ...at last .
When my son was on working tour of Australia he ended up with a job at the local council as a graffiti buster .
They were on it the very next day . He had a pick up truck and list of targets and it was removed immediately. That was in Sydney . I wish they could do that in mallorca it does spoil a beautiful island.
It would also deter it in the first place.

The restaurant the couple mentioned is opposite the pool entrance / terrace gate to oasis spa hotel . I looked at the menu last year but thought it quite limited so not tried it yet . Lovely to see you getting recognised and people saying hello

Not rincon,its a tapas bar ,we been for drinks there,its nice when it's open !!

It's interesting to hear what people say about the hotels. The prices are so high now, that you do expect good standards in everything.
Seeing some of the prices I wonder how families can afford a holiday.
You are not wrong, we are pretty horrified by what we have paid for this years holiday & we are b&b so will spend a fortune in resort.
It is my understanding from what I can gather within the tourism industry that a hotel is awarded stars/spoons/forks or whatever for the quantity/amount and value of amenities provided. This does not include complimentary items in a room or furniture items or anything such as how many stairs or not there are to different levels or how many / where toilets are situated etc etc. You are quite correct in your comment that we all have wildly different expectations and a 4 star in one resort quite often is not the same elsewhere, they should be but often not. And yes quite often a lower rated resort can provide a better service than a higher one. We all holiday differently thank god.

They were staying at the son caliu oasis spa hotel I think and the restaurant they mentioned is on the opposite side of road , it's called Muelle

Appears to be too many beds and parasols on the beach. They are blocking the view of the sea. People staying at The Zel must be disappointed with their lack of a seaview.

His Steve were in the Santa Lucia right now, the indoor food it fine, restaurant very clean, the outside area is shocking I’ve never seen it so bad in 10 year of coming here, food all over the tables and floor and over run with pigeons, there is staff here but surely if you clear a table it then has to be wiped,it’s shocking outside filthy, never 4 star let alone platinum this is a TUI hotel I bet there going to be bombarded with complaints mine for one
